Great interview. You guys should look up Arkady Babchenko. He fought in both Chechen wars and his book, One Soldier’s War, is awesome. I think he speaks English as well. Hi from Ireland
No questions about krysha system, solntsevo guys, mogilevich, yukos case or anything specific regarding his time in financial market in the early 2000s?
@@mrwick6026 was going to comment that myself. That sounds like every letter agency and It honestly sounds like a pretty fair deal in theory, but most agencies are grimey and often times don’t give a damn about holding up their end of the deal if it’s more trouble to them than what they deem worth. In case anyone is wondering who the head of the Moscow Bank was: Andrey Borodin was president of Bank of Moscow until 2011, stole a shit ton of rubles, was granted political asylum in the UK, and literally bought and resides in Park Place on the monopoly board.
I feel like he was all over the map with what he was talking about and then on top of that didn't stop talking from start to finish. So I got completely lost at times but otherwise great podcast.
Upset I missed the live feed, I wanted to ask if what ex KGB Yuri Bezmenov was speaking about soviet use of miss information and subversion is a real tactic that the kgb was using in America or was he giving misinformation for a spot light.
Listened to the whole podcast. This guy was willing to give everything up to US intelligence and they stabbed him in the back. I'd buy his book just to support him, but I can't find it.
First: very intersting! About what he's saying: maybe moving from investigator to operator is an opotunity to get some additional money ;) Later the story with the envelopes proves it ;) Second: for young indoctrinated guys like him it may be shocking to suddenly be attacked in the open for wearing fsb uniform, but lets not forget that it was guys like him who put people since the 1920's and before (NKVD & Tcheka) in the gulag and hardly a family hadn't loose somebody... Third: spy guys always fall on their feet! The story about the party goons switching sides is only half the story. It is true for the spy goons too, just look at Putin and his gang ;)
Bro y’all get Edward snowden on this show if u want help getting ahold of him leave me a heart on this comment I’ll drop a secure email we can speak through
Maybe you can get a Hitler youth or someone from unit 731, would be comparable to any “former” FSB or KGB agent. Yeah, just like you never leave the CIA, you sure as fuck don’t leave Fsb.
A smart guy who choosing words wisely, I could grill him more but why? I`m sure he knows I know, banking isn't my primary task but if I know something about something I ask. Awesome video
One more thing, when you read my questions, you have no idea, but they do, sometimes it's fun to watch their reaction🤣🤣🤣hope he doesn't get PTSD from this 🤣
Surprised nobody asked him about Hunter Biden & Burisma. I waited in vain for almost 3h for that. I thought surely.... Anyway amazing, captivating nonetheless. Thanks! ---*Bonus related funny story below: In the early '80's we had an AFS foreign exchange student from Chile live with us. He went on to become his class president at U of Santiago Law School - then on to the US - studied at Columbia and then to an internship at the Hague. He ended up working for the New Chilean Interior Minister after the fall of Pinochet. One day his wife was driving in Santiago and made a minor illegal U turn and was pulled over. In Chile & elsewhere the officer has you sign the citation AND confiscates your driver's license to make sure you show up at the station to pay the fines. So she calls "Eduardo" at work kinda like, "...honey I just had an encounter with the police..." (latent cringe memories under Pinochet surely at play) But honestly, she was more concerned about how to proceed - where to go. Not even thinking, as if he were working at his Dad's insurance firm, Eduardo had his secretary call the precinct for instructions/directions for his wife. He called back & told her no problem, just go pay at such and such a station, "My assistant says they're expecting you. Now you have to realize Eduardo & his family are very close to us and very much like us here - work, take the kids to school/soccer etc. And he still fairly new at the job. The effect of the prestige of his position hadn't sunk in. So Eduardo didn't think much of the situation - they're pretty humble people. Just, "Mi amor - just go take care of it." Still apprehensive when she arrived she was surprised & even embarrassed the tables were completely turned! They were apologetic & obsequious to the point of comedy. Treated her like royalty. A call from the Ministry of the Interior totally freaked the place out! They quickly waived the citation & even walked her to her car. I visited them in 1982 for 6 weeks when there was still a night curfew in the major cities. One evening in Santiago I had borrowed Ed's brother's Peugeot wagon to visit a girlfriend across town & overstayed smooching & saying sweet nothings. It was after ten when I drove back but the whole city had changed. I saw two cars on that whole sketchy trip back. Just a few years before that could get you shot! During this time, at worst it could still get you arrested & interrogated. Ed's mother was not pleased. Ed simply laughed & asked which brain I was using. -Cheers!

Saw Jan on the spy museum also, very interesting background. You should've asked him about his acting background also :)
Very nice. Should have asked about Litvinenko.

The Russian culture teaches your mind to seek out cooperation and create value, often avoiding fiat currency altogether.
Everytime I see an ex spy,I listen to them like they're lying & watch how slick they are😎

How would you verify and vet this gentleman? Does he have the Russian equivalent of a US DD-214?

how do you figure that?
