- Today i looked at why my spares or repair purchased Freelander 2 will not even try to start. What i discovered will be worth checking on your Freelander as if caught early you avaoid a costly repair!

Great video looked at My 07 plate and yes it had started to cut the wiring .
I did at one stage has the lights on all the time lost cruse control and main beam and that was also a broken wire under the battery box.
Good tip about the loom under the airbox pipe..had a look at mine , all ok and looks like Land Rover have since modified the loom- my 2010 model was covered in thick plastic trunking so no chance of it wearing through.
Thats good! If yours is an SD4 it will have a different loom fitted due to the DPF. Also if its an Auto. But still worth checking silly little things like this can cause some expensive repairs.
Sounds rather complicated to me to what it was or wasnt doing. Great find on the wires too. I dread to think how much a garage would have charged to find this - if they could have ??
Wonder how many Freelander have ended up wrongly on the scrap heap because of this 😢😢
Wouldnt have been a cheap fix. Took me long enough to find it 🤣
....I hate modern motors....too much electrickery!
There is! Just goes to show. Get a fault on the right wire and everything shuts down! Very technical modern cars
Hi, I have a No Crank problem with a Freel2 2011. Can you tell me what voltage I should find on the terminal of Clutch Pedal Switches ? Thak you :) It cranks only from the starter relay. Code error P0380, P0833
Good job, just for reference, management light will always stay on with ignition on and stay on on almost every car until engine is started
Wires henesy Freelander 2013 Si4 the ones next to the battery burnt, should one suppose to get the whole bulk or cut join the burnt out ones?
Have a look to see if there is any more damage. Have you found why they have burnt out? If its easy enough replace them
I've had a problem with my freelander 2, 2.2 diesel, put key in and wont start radio, lights etc turn on but instrument cluster isnt lighting up atall... do you have any ideas im fairly new to working on landrovers Haha, Thanks
Have you checked the fuses? It could be something as simple as that. The cluster has its own ecu so if its not something simple you could do with getting it scanned to see whats going on.

Tell me your thoughts. Current job no ecm after bat change with horn going off on freelander 1. Usually no coms obd suggests fuse or relay or ecm shot. What is the way LR want you to change batteries. Is it battery monitoring system that throws a wobbly?

They all have can bus issues 🤣. Unfortunately diagnostics helps but can bust issues can be a pain!
I have a freelander 2 sd4 hse 2010 the immobiliser is not receiving key. Theres no ign lights however I can talk to obd . Saying lost communication with instrument cluster start button circuit lost communication with seat module. All communication problems. Clocks won't wake up however infotainment works wipers etc that's it. I'm gonna check and if this is the case I owe you big time!!
Sounds very similar to what was happening on mine. Fingers crossed 🤞

@@lifes.projects the wires look OK on my sd4 however there's 3 earth wires fastened to chassis leg that look green and stretched. So I'm thinking strip and run a cable from battery negative see if get lucky
@@lifes.projects unfortunately its beat me pal. All ground cables are good. Fans is coming in and out randomly. Very odd. Checked all wires all OK
I'm ok with auto electrics but this one got me. No osciiscope although I do have autodata

I have the exactly same issue with my Freelander 2
Give it a look over. Had a few messages on instagram saying this was the fault 👍

Nice solid looking car there mate, a good find on that wiring fault, just wondering how many chaffing looms are like that out there and are there any more bits going the same way. Look forward to the gearbox extravaganza if you can film it 👍
Thank you. Yeah i was really suprised. Its a strange one as where its located it looks like it came out the factory like that so really suprised theres not loads done it. Yeah its a nice car just little bits but i have uncovered another hidden secret from this car..... the subframe! I will be making a video of that but either way thats getting replaced too 🤣
