Every time a Disco breaks down with terrible engine issues, the dealers are now shipping them off towards the locality of Frankfurt in the hope that Vera makes Christian buy it!
and most of the engine problem is just because the owner dont take care of it they may wash it wax it but the main service is a joke just my opinion from jamaica
😂😂😂
Hahaa!
😂
I was just about to type something very similar (but not as witty...)
You guys are amazing, me and my wife cannot even decorate together without arguing yet you two build discoveries together. Well done.
😂😂😂
Yep, same! 😂
They never ever argue, it’s amazing 😂
They argue off camera :D @@MrSnicol
Never argue with the wife. Just say 'yes dear, you are right', ask for a brew and then do what you were going to do anyway ...
Worked for me and I was only married twice .. 🤣🤣
28:16 I've never seen someone so happy about a blown engine lol
This is so addictive I’m thinking of buying one, but I don’t have room for a lathe in the kitchen…..
Kitchens are overrated you just need a sink and microwave 😆
Lol
a bathroom [ with the bath removed ] is perfect for that purpose
Why would one need a kitchen anyway...🤷🤷🤷
I’m wondering if I can get away with a 2-post on the driveway…
Your drive is starting to look like a Landrover Dealership 😂😂😂
Or a salvage yard 😁
Full of broken land rovers 😂
It's nothing like a land rover dealership as LR Time know what they are doing with their LRs 😅
@@andrewormerod2780Only one broken one now.
😂😂😂
One thing is for sure: there will never be a shortage of Land Rovers for these two hilarious people to argue over .. I mean fix for us to enjoy on YT ... 👍👍
So true!!! In the UK they’re impossible to insure as they’re too easy to steal. Even Land Rover won’t insure them. People buying brand new vehicles and having to sell at huge losses.
@@brianbickle7395 Yup - my insurance was £800 last year and £1,400 this year - though the AdBlue (Euro-6) version has a much lower road tax than the earlier versions without AdBlue - so that saves a few hundred.
If you're in the market for a Discovery 4, then this is the video to watch. Christian and Vera give such good insight into what to look for in a used vehicle from interior accessories, reading fault codes, mechanical inspection and much more. This video (and all the others) is brilliant! I'm going to be looking at a couple of D4s this week and I will have my eyes wide open with my list of things to look out for.
Love it guys! Your channel is why I bought my my disco 4 about two years ago. She's a 2012 XS with a lot of extras had 117k miles now 126k. So far apart from servicing gearbox and general servicing, it's cost me for replacing the inlet manifolds which both cracked one hot day on Exmoor last summer. She came with a full Landrover service history and two prior female owners. From looking through the computer, she had done 26m in ice and snow settings before I bought her in total and zero miles in any other setting, so I knew she'd never been offroad. Well, she definately has now! We use her as a camper, with an inflatable mattress and all rear seats folded down, we put our luggage on the front seats and it is very comfortable. I look forward to Sundays and seing how to use all the tools I have had to buy to keep my Mall Crawler road and mud ready! To me, your channel is like a video version of the Haynes manual, with jokes and commentary - so thanks for all the useful information and laughter and long may you continue to inform and entertain the rest of us D3/4/Queen - addicts.
There is a dip stick on the Discovery 4, it is usually sitting behind the steering wheel 🙂
Dealer starts shaking when Vera and Christian stroll in...😂 ....my favourite duo. Brilliant as always.😊😊
Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning, watching you both and the lovely energy between you two.
Great that Vera is onboard with your projects. I think she will have more knowledge about Land Rovers than many LD owners!!
👍👍👍😀😀
40:29 Christian & Vera, the only owners who sell their LR because it’s too reliable! Love the channel, only wish you guys had a LR with a 5.0 Jag V8 so I could learn more from your channel.
We want to get a V8 supercharged at one point. But we still have full house now. Christian
Yes! Some SC V8 content would be wicked awesome!!
Ah, my favourite Sunday morning video entertainment, thanks again to you both.
Hi Guys from the UK. I don’t have a D3 or 4 but do have a very much loved and very well cared for D2. I’ve only recently found your channel, but I’m really enjoying going through your back catalogue of videos. Great energy between you both and very entertaining. Looking forward to the work you’ve get planned on the new arrival. Keep up the great work. A fellow Discovery enthusiast.
Excellent, I don’t get out of bed till I’ve watched your weekly presentation
You need a solid bar for shunting make life so much easier
I love to listen to the banter between you two , and I hope that the sofa is comfortable Vera
In 10 years time, Darmstadt will be known all over the world as the global hub for the most reliable Land Rovers. I think I should get ahead of the game now, and start an independent LR showroom in the area.
Fantastic guys! Our 2012 Disco 4 SDV6 we've owned 2 years, has just had it's 18th service and eclipsed 170k miles! We love it
I'm happy watching but sad afterwards because I know it's going to be another 7 days before I see Christian and Vera again.
Came across you site by accident, oh man what have bene missing out on all this time! I love the banter, subtle innuendoes and of course content. Great site you have another follower!
😅🙏🙋♀️
Interesting to hear of all the electrical options in the LR4. Thankfully Land Rover has a fantastic reputation for reliability for all these 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
They would be just as ecstatic if found a in '67 buick wildcat
Just great Christian and Vera, a perfect way to end my Sunday. Your enthusiasm is infectious and we can’t wait to meet grandad!
Absolutely brilliant video. Christian's top tip for buying a used Land rover... buy a beautiful home with a 2 pillar lift first. This is going to be a great series. Glad to see your father in the Christian. Had seen him since the diy line boring video
So entertaining to see you two at work:). Arguably the Best car repair channel on, imo.., :)
Thanks.
Brilliant , thank you for making my Sunday morning lie in!
I've had my weekly dose of LR time. Ready for anything now! Thanks guys
What a lovely Sunday morning. Thanks for this guys. ☕️
Love the videos, and you both are great fun to watch working together. Thanks for taking he time to create them.
Christian might be land rover discovery nerd of the century. I wonder waht fun things he will need to make in his kitchen/machine shop to get this one sorted? Looking forward to the series on this one, should be fascinating, and I'm hoping to learn a lot about all the tiny differences between this one and the others. It's a very comforting feeling knowing there is such a wealth of knowledge out there, makes everything a ltttle less scary.
Hi there I’m in the uk i watch all your videos Christian really now’s his discos love you guys I’ve just bought a 2014 HSE luxury with engine failure but it’s got all the extras your talking about it had a spun bearing on a big end I’ve rebuilt now and runs lovely
Just a note 2014 started with the start stop
Look forward to the next video on this car you guys are the best
Hi guys again another great informative video , looking forward to seeing this pulled down and fixed. Just love the commentary cheers from down under
The two of you have got to be the craziest LR couple on the planet! I salute you 👌
Soo glad you’ve bought this car! Really looking forward to following your progress!
GLAD OF YOUR NEW PUCHASE THIS WILL BE MORE GOOD CONTENT FROM YOU AND VERA THANK YOU ALL THE BEST
When none of your Land Rovers and Range Rover have zero problem. Buy another one! Christian and Vera never disappoint. And you guys should do a reliability video between the LR3 and LR4, you can tag the queen along for that ride.
Thank you so much guys. That's answered a lot of questions I hadn't even thought of. Very informative. You two are just amazing ❤
Impressed by the technical knowledge and skills, amused by the interaction and loving the cooperation and overlanding :-)
Christian and Vera, you guys are just brilliant. Your videos are so entertaining, your banter is hilarious and your technical skills are just amazing. Ignore any trolls in any Facebook groups they should be totally ignored and you guys should keep doing what you do - just brilliant. My partner was borne in Darmstadt and she still has a house there. I have a Discovery 2 and am looking for a 2016 D4. Though I could never do the things you do I am learning so
much about them from you. Thank you. Paul
As a 76 year old HIPPO owner here In the UK, I just laugh at you twos Play with words at each other. Love you both bless you. The final laughter from myself was the appearance of your dear old Dad bless him. What has he let himself In for - LOL.. Don't ever stop you two, you bring both more LR knowledge and laughter Into my life. PS. What is the quickest way to drain my Sedimenter on my TD4 HSE please, apart from laying on the floor and draining it. I need a car lift in my life - LOL
You two are just amazing! Thank you, i learned so much and can't wait 'till you drop the sump!!
I love Vera. It’s a blessing to have a wife that loves this as much as Christian does. It means more arguments but it’s nice dor you to have her there. Lucky man!
Once again my tea and toast was complimented with another quality video, thanks again you two👌
I've always understood column lettering as follows:
Between bonnet and front doors: A column.
Between front and rear doors: B column
Behind rear doors: C column
At back tailgate: D column
Thats great except they are pillars not columns😂
You guys are awesome, you make me smile. Thanks for putting up with all us desk top mechanics. Good luck I'll be watching.
Vera and Christian, it looks like some more great Disco content coming soon, fabulous!
This is my favorite comedy channel on UA-cam!
Stumbled over your video from UK and I love your channel … great teamwork & humour 👍🏻
I just had to subscribe😂 The banter is legendary. Dry German humour. Am hooked on day 1
You two are some of the best viewing on you tube Vera is lovely and that smile melts me I look forward to Sundays with you two cheers guys is knowledge of Discovery is amazing.
Love the team work. You take calculated risks and your wife is clearly the voice of reason.
Should call this Series...Rover Rehab!
why not "sis wehikel'
I just bought my new to me 2011 LR4 and I'm very happy with it so far. Timing chain had been done a couple hundred miles before I took ownership so I was confident in the purchase. I've been looking through a lot of youtube videos on LR4s because, well of coarse I would. Anyway, I'm super happy to have found this channel. I love you twos back and forth bantering but also can sense the passion you have behind the vehicles as well. An easy channel to subscribe too!
😅👌🙏🙋♀️
I’m looking forward to timing belt replacement.
Thanks for videos.
Really impressive.
Excellent news. Looking forward to the engine rebuild on the Disco 4.
Great content yet again looking forward to see this one getting repaired. Thanks.
wow another Landrover masterclass start's again 😃
Vera and Christian, saving Land Rover Discoverys, one engine rebuild at a time 👍🏻 looking forward to seeing how this one goes. We couldn't really hear the engine sound over Vera's screams looks like the Queen remains on her throne for a while then.
A new and exciting adventure awaits. Can’t wait for the future videos. Good job guys
What a pair you are. Fantastic. Following from South Africa with my 2010 LRD4 bought new . Only replaced my suspension pump 4 years ago due to many hard trips through the Kalahari desert.
Very impressive 👍. Christian
I've watched a few of your videos in the past,i've had a few Land-Rovers myself but mine were series 2s and 3s,indeed my most modern was a Discovery 1 v8 which i had for 17 years.Up until now,i've not subscribed even though you're both very entertaining but once you said you'd never drive an EV i immediately knew we were kindrid spirits and hit the button! Good luck with this one,it'll be interesting to see what is going on inside that engine
I never had a vehicle for 17 years. My respect. You did more for the enviroment than any EV driver. Christian
I had an Opel Vectra C 2.2DTi for 20 years, bought it new. It finally died…resting at my dads parking lot.
Peparing the Maul crawler for sale, fixing Vera's D3 steering and now a new engine rebuild lots of Sunday content to keep me entertained. Hope all this doesn't mean too many nights on the couch for Vera.😂
It's "Mall crawler, but "Maul crawler" is a great inadvertent "Denglishism", as "Maul" means "jaw" or "mouth", but is also part of great German words such as "Maultier/Maulesel" for "mule", and "Maulschlüssel" for open-ended spanners ... and "halt dem Maul" as an imperative for "shut up!" ;-)
I’m looking forward to your work and repairs. I have also a Discovery 4, but SDV6 - love it!
Thanks for another interesting informative video look forward to seeing the broken oiley bits! 😅
I've only just found your channel and loved every minute. I am now subscribed and looking forward to many more of your videos. Best wishes from England 😊
😅👌👍🙋♀️
What a excellent episode 👏👏👏👏 Can not wait for next Sunday 👍😊
Your both so funny and entertaining, I don't and have never owned a Land Rover but i'm hooked on your videos 😀
I did have a full spec 4 but it was just kicking back repeat electrical problems which were costing me a fortune. My 3 did so far 35.000 km on new C&V oil recommendations and I'm smiling. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
👌👍🙋♀️
I dont have a Land Rover at the moment but I find myself watching your videos! Its great entertainment and lots of useful information. My last Land Rover was a L322 4.4 TDV8 and now I am thinking of buying a L405 with the same engine. And yes, Land Rovers are extremely cheap in the UK, I live here!
the most wholesome couple you will find out here. Love the content!
1:34 Literally thought the truck was going that fast. LOL
I don't have a Range rover,I never have been in one,I have not even drive one,but your content is purely addicted.
Great 👍🏻 👌
Thanks
guys please do a future video with a RR L322! Pleaseeeee! super cool watching you repair all these cars!
Hi both, another great Video from you and very informative on the Discovery 4, and can’t wait for the new videos on your new Discovery.
Of course there's a dipstick it's sat in the driving seat 😂😂😂 ,,its going to be interesting to see why it broke ,,,great video
Another excellent video from you both. See you next Sunday. 🙏
Hi both , I’ve got to say I’m from wales 🏴 in the UK and just found your channel and looking forward to catching up with all your post .
You two are both very brave. When I had my D2 the mechanic used to say he had several customers with D3's looking for something more reliable if I ever wanted to sell it. No wonder Vera has such a trim figure, lifting all those batteries.😄
😅💪🙋♀️
Awesome! Can’t wait to join on your latest Discovery rebuild series :-)
I watch your videos with much interest. I have owned two Land Rovers, a series one that I drove across the Sahara desert in 1974 even though it was twenty years old. I believe that Land Rover's reputation has been built on the 'expedition' capability of their vehicles and not just a 4 X 4 that can be driven around forest tracks. My series one could be repaired with a small tool kit by the side of the road (id necessary), I defy anyone to repair a Discovery with the kind of tools that you employ on a regular basis. Keep up the good work.
Really enjoyed watching this video I happen to come accross. Nice to see partners work so well together. I always knew that Land Rovers are the least reliable but had no idea about how many issues, and I'm glad I never bought one.....
you earned another sub, well done Vera and Christian.
Very refreshing RE tutorial and educational video.
You both are very easy to understand and learn from
TOPS MARKS!
Meraki, a Greek word meaning to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself in your work. To love what you do, is to do it well. Wunderbar
Yeah that sums it all up, got to remember that.😅🙏🙋♀️
Watching you both is like watching myself and my husband every time we do a chore.😂
😳😅👌🙋♀️
Yay, another Landy to work on. I look forwards to future videos
Just found your channel and subscribed! Very valuable information!
A brilliant video about a brilliant vehicle!
Looking forward to the series, just hope i never need to copy the process on mine! Although I love it so much I'd be prepared to do it. 😅
The best Time is LR TIME.. Great video guy's 👍
So looking forward to the engine rebuild videos. 👌👌
Hey Christian and Vera, in Australia we are now seeing the RH cam pulley failing hub centre is cracking at the webbing to the outer pulley @ 170k km. Visually you can check when doing timing belt change heads up for the D4 timing pulley your probably doing right now. Cheers and keep the content coming.
Oskar from down under.
I also saw a picture recently. Did not know this issue before. Should have changed Veras. Christian
Dude and Dudess, love that you guys are so passionate about a British car. I am enthralled with your enthusiasm. I also love the wife/husband interaction. (would not happen in my household) If you PM me I will send you a British/London bump cap so you can really be in the zone. Be cool.
you have lovely accents and your English is better than most of the locals here in the UK
What another one ! Amazing ! lets see what the diagnosis is on this one.
Goodyear has stopped making those tyres, I have been struggling to get to replace mine.
Thanks for the video
We still have a set of those Goodyear M+S tires on our '13 Discovery 4, and although Christian and Vera can correct me if I'm wrong (they did make a comment on illegality in this video), it is my understanding that they can be used until Sep 2024, when I plan to have them replaced with Continentals with the snowflakes, same as I recently have on our '13 Freelander 2 and '17 Discovery Sport www.army.mil/article/257924/everything_you_need_to_know_about_winter_tires_in_germany .
Although Christian and Vera made a comment that they were technically illegal, I have the same Goodyear M+S tires on our '13 Discovery 4, and it is my understanding that they're legal until September 2024, when I plan to replace them with the Continental Premium Contact 2s I recently put on out '13 Freelander 2 and '17 Discovery Sport.
From the US military in Germany website: "As of January 2018, new winter tires must be marked with the Alpine-Symbol (a 3-peak mountain with a snowflake in the center). If you own all-season tires or winter tires marked with M+S and produced prior to 2018, they are still approved until Sept. 30, 2024."
@@GunnarMiller Tyres without the snowflake symbol are only illegal in Winter - which, I think, is between October and March (when the clocks are on Winter time?)? They are perfectly legal at other times.
@@johnwillett4086 There's technically no set time, although the rule of thumb is "O bis O" (October through Easter) ... you just don't want to be caught out in ice/snow conditions. The M+S no-snowflake tires appear to be grandfathered through Sep 2024.
what to watch out for, the "Landrover" badge on the front LOL.
looking forward to the fix on this one.
I think it might be time for my third Discovery. Purely because these two show me how much I miss them. :)
😅💪💪🙋♀️
Bought my HSE 2012 with no sunroof and no heated seats or wheel. so yeah, not all HSE's are fitted with everything. Great Video as always Christian & Vera!
I'm convinced that "no sunroof" is the best feature on any car ... especially an LR3 or 4.
@@GunnarMiller Infact :D that's exactly why I was happy with this one. no potential leaks and jammed sunroofs when it's open
Hello from the UK!
These videos are great - keep up the good work :) - Oh, I just bought my first Discovery 4 so you are welcome to the UK for a vacation to help with repairs ;)
Thanks.
Great video and thank you Christian and Vera for enabling me to realise that my D4 has a heated steering wheel, no more numb fingers. I've only had the car nearly 5 years, I am a dummkopf 🤡.
I guess that's why they are called Discovery!
😅OMG 👌😃🙋♀️
I bought four brand new alloys and factory installed Goodyear Wrangler HT tyres for my Ford Ranger a few months ago for £500. They are off a Wildtrak that was being customised. There are plenty available for this price, having only driven from dealer to customising companies. The price of genuine part alloys from a dealer is frightening. Someone priced a steel wheel, no tyre, for a Grenadier and the price was about twice what I paid for four alloys plus tyres. There are bargains out there sometimes. I now have six spare wheels for two vehicles.
