I think a lot of people don't understand the concept of singing with emotion. Not to mention singing with the voice of a character! Let's not forget Bryce is very much American and sets up a posh British accent only when voicing Stolas. To be able to do that even when singing is VERY impressive.
I agree with you. Granted it doesn't help that most of the songs in this series have been more...pop? Upbeat? Not sure what the correct word would be, but we haven't gotten many songs that contained raw emotion in them. The ones that come to mind are You Will be OK, Moxxie's Bad Trip, Verosika's brief part in The House of Asmodeus (I'd actually love to see her sing a full song of her anger/hurt toward Blitz), Stolas's song from S2E1, Crooked and 2 Minutes Notice. OK, Bryce not being British I actually didn't know. Now I'm even more impressed by his talent.
3:46 anybody complaining about Stolas’s singing voice, in “Owl in a cage“ Really didn’t look into things. It was actually stated in a few comments from the creators. That he sang that song on, and in one take. And he was really emoting with that song. The reason why his voice was cracking was because he was trying to keep from crying. And if anybody has any complaints about this song, you can hear there is a few parts in which he’s trying not to cry. It’s called emoting.
The way you can see the light in his eyes die at the end breaks my heart everytime because you KNOW he's struggling and his inner child is fading with it
@@NarujenReacts it's even more painful knowing that he's trying desperately to give Octavia that security and happiness he never got but in doing so he's unintentionally hurting her
@@anxocarmesi4488 Yeah. It's a sad situation. I just hope Stolas doesn't lose Octavia after letting Blitz go. I don't think the poor owl boy will be able to handle that.
Song was originally made by Paranoid DJ, Viv loved the song so much, she made it canon. Some lines are a bit diffirent than the original. My favorite song of Paranoid DJ is Smile like you mean it. BlackGryphon, the singing voice actor of Alastor, made 2 original fan songs 1 Insane. 2 Heaven 2 Hell, where he sings a duet with Elsie Lovelock
I LOVE Heaven 2 Hell, The Ringleader and We're Sure to Drown. I was really hoping the Fizzy one would be put into the show, but I'm happy one of Paranoid's was used.
SAAAAAAAAME! We've seen him break down with Fizzy. I want to see the same happen for Stolas, even if it is going to hurt. It needs to happen or else things are never going to get better for them.
What kills me, and not a lot of people bring this up in the reactions, is at the end of the song it is like he is realizing that with this choice it is possible he will lose Blitz and you can see the light of hope fade from his eyes.
Can you believe PARANOiD DJ made the original version before Ozzie’s?? Some of the lyrics were updated to match where it is in the timeline now, sure, but the overall tone of the of the song was spot-on for what came to light in Ozzie’s and The Circus. I’m still tearing up. Also to your comment about stopping more-prepare for that for Owl House too!
I saw that! 2 years ago it came out. Surprised me. Paranoid's songs have been pretty spot on too. At least for Helluva Boss. Between this one and The Ringleader. It's so heart wrenching, but such a good music video! ;_; I'm used to it by this point. XD
@@NarujenReacts Honestly, I didn’t think Ringleader was that spot on. The part about the scars was on point, but there were more misses than hits in the predictions. It’s a good song! And given only the S1 information I can see where it was coming from. But I also didn’t listen to it until after I’d seen MMMMSS(fF) several times, so the places where it differed really stuck out to me.
@@FlybyStardancer That's probably why then. I've listened to the song a lot. Too much lol. A part of me was even hoping the episode that focused on Fizz and Blitz was going to have them have a confrontation similar to how they did in the song. I'm still really happy with how it went though.
I love owls so stolas is piek design for me. But this is a beautiful song. Bryce does an amazing job of being vulnerable and passionate too ❤️ great reaction 😍
for future reactions, could i maybe recommend you watching through once with no/minimal pausing, and then watching through a second time to pause and do analysis? that way you can listen to the whole song uninterrupted, and it'll give you time to gather your thoughts for the analysis on the second watch through.
My thoughts exactly because the way she is doing all this first and not just letting it sink in before doing all the pausing and talking is very annoying to the viewers I can't be the only one that's why I took a minute to look at the comments thank you for pointing it out and in a nice way 👍
First off, thank you for giving your critique in a polite way and not just saying "this video is annoying lol". c: There's nothing I can take into consideration with that, whereas yours I can. Next time I react to a music video I'll definitely give that style a shot. I'm just so used to reacting to longer media that I didn't realize it'd be annoying for a music video.
@@NarujenReacts no worries at all! just something i’ve seen work with other reactors when doing music videos, thought it might be something you could try out. thanks for the reaction, and sorry about the other comments.
@@techi4584 Well, thank you for the suggestion! And it's all right. I've been a content creator long enough to know that comments like that are inevitable. Comes with the territory lol.
Having been a part of the MLP fandom, I'd agree. It's not surprising though that Hasbro barely made anything from the fandom canon. Seeing as they're a big corporation. The things that were put in were only because the writers/animators did. One of the reasons why I prefer indie animation over main stream.
That and I have a personal pet peeve of reactors when they talk over a part. So, I pause whenever I have more than a few things to say and if I do talk over something on accident, that's when I go back to hear what was said again.
Christ on a stick you don't have to pause the second something happens, it destroys the flow of the song SO badly. The first listen of a song should always be just start to finish without interrupting, and THEN you go back and analyse and chop it up on the second viewing. It's not possible to fully enjoy and understand a song by butchering it to pieces the first time you hear it. The pause at 10:56 in particular was SO unnecessary and infuriating

Exactly, but I guess some people have just never heard a singer be emotional during a song, which means practically every Broadway song in existence.
The way you can see the light in his eyes die at the end breaks my heart everytime because you KNOW he's struggling and his inner child is fading with it
Yesssss. Stolas just sounds so...desperate and sad, but also full of love that he wants to give to Blitz.

I REALLY hope that in a future episode, Blitz just breaks down, let his walls be at least transparent and sing a deeply rooted reprise of THIS song.

I‘m not rly sure, but I think ParanoidDJ made „Just (or only) Look My Way“ first, like I said, not sure bout that tho
Are you talking about Paranoid making the song before this music video? Or that it was Paranoids first song?
My only criticism is that there is way too much pausing in this video for my liking, but maybe that's a way to understand each part of the song.
