I need some advice on purchasing a hand plane for electric guitar builds. What would you choose for yourself? It looks like around $500.00 or so for a quality hand plane and sharpening supplies. Do you think a hand plane is a necessary tool for building solid body guitars?
Did you De-Tention that screw cap before increasing the depth of cut? I just got a Quangsheng block plane and had trouble with the depth adjuster. I thought if i de-tentioned the screw cap, it may skew the blade. But i guess you just barely take the pressure off, just enough so the deoth adjustment works? Thank you for this video!

tip: rub little wax block on the base of the plane to help with gliding.
