Baba Yaga is ancient slavic myth character(Name's translated as Gran Yaga) She's undead witch which lives in the hut on chiken legs, flies in the mortar bowl and eating children. Character's still rather popular, particularly in Russia, where we still may call that way somewhat dreadful woman who behaves gruesomly. In the Mignola's comics she was pictured very accurately, which I admire and respect about it. New Hellboy movie I watched a week ago and it works only if you are familiar with the original comic book and in general fond of original concept of Hellboy. If you know not about comics or if you only watched Ron Perlman movie by Del Toro you might not get what you expect, because this is no superhero movie at all. The tone and scale is absolutely different and that's the thing you should be prepared for.
