I'm making a large double friendship star quilt and this is a simpler design that would cut my squaring up time in half. Just a brilliant design. Love it!
Valuable lesson... when you are left handed the world looks different.... all the more reason I should have heeded Kimberly's warning to cut the half square triangles exactly as she demonstrated. When you cut 100 half square triangles the opposite way you get pinwheels and diamonds instead of flowers.
Just ordered my paper roll. I'm very excited to start this project. I'm still a beginner so I need all your tips and tricks. Love how you explain your videos. Thank you and have a wonderful day
This was an excellent video. I felt like the explanations were extremely clear and easy to follow. I cannot wait to give it a try. Thank you for all your hard work Fat Quarter filming team.
Love the pattern! Quick question, could do this without the triangle paper? I would love to make it but don't want to wait for the paper to come in the mail lol.
Thanks for another beginner friendly free pattern. We received the TOAR paper in one of our sew sampler boxes so I am all set to use Sherri and Chelsi layer cakes I have been saving. will wait a few minutes for the pattern download to work
This pattern is great and easy plus it can be used with scraps which is always a plus. BUT it requires TWO 7" Half Square Triangle Paper Rolls which the instructions do not tell you. One roll will only give you 15 rectangles. Thanks to the staff of the Fat Quarter Shop for helping me out with my predicament.
I was like wow when I saw the triangles on a roll but cannot get the 7” in Australia 🇦🇺 the international shipping is so expensive with the currency exchange. It’s so hard her in Australia getting supplies everything is way over the top in price and very limited supplies. I envy all of you ladies in America having so much at hand.
Love this pattern! Question, though...why do you stop at the end of first triangle line and go back to the top instead of pivoting around to the next line? It seems like a big waste of thread, especially on such a large triangle. I may be missing something important, but I can't figure out why this is the best way to use TOAR.
Hello! Kimberly just finds it easier to follow the lines this way, but you can absolutely do it the way you suggested. As long as you're stitching on the dotted lines, you're good to go!
Does sewing through paper dull your needle faster? (Newbie here!) Also, most of your videos use newer machine settings for stitch length. Is there another description for those of us still using older machine's?
@@FatQuarterShopTX I have he plaid farmhouse kit . Is this the same technique. I felt like it was paper piecing so I didn’t start on it . If it’s the same technique I feel like I can do it now.
Nope, the arrows are the suggested sewing line to follow, and if you follow them then you will have to start and stop less. But as Kimberly shows here, you can go in any direction you like.

You would think that the arrows on the triangle roll mean something..... such as stitch in the direction of the arrow, Other than that: a nice project.
@@SewMerri I would say the pattern is the part you sold your fabric to and I didn't see a print out for that. I only saw the paper roll for sale on the website
Thank you so much. At 84 every free item helps so much
Sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this method of sewing, chopping, rearranging for an unexpected block.
I love not having to match up points. 👍😁
Very beutiffull I like pachwork
Yea! I downloaded this pattern and have it ready to use next. Going to use my On the Wind fabric to make a crib size. Thanks!

Oh I’m excited for this quilt. Looks easy for beginners. Have a fabric line picked out for this quilt.
Guess I'll have to get 7" triangle paper on my next order! Thanks for the great video.
Love this. Easy it's oftentimes a good thing! Thank you.

I just bought the triangle paper for this to make into a Halloween quick quilt. Thanks!
Adoro os seus vídeos. Obrigada ☺️
Thank you. I love these patterns, and giving us more opportunities to use the Triangles on a roll we got in our Sew Sampler Box.
So cute!

Hello Karen! Yes, you can make the quilt without the triangle paper.
Love it!
Thanks so much for the short cut tutorial...awesome❤️
I love your videos!
Just finished mine,just needs binding.
I would love to see a video tutorial “Pretty as a Rose quilt” from Cottage Flair,
Thanks for all you do for us
😁😘 love you guys
❣️love this pattern and excellent tutorial. thanks!
ANOTHER GREAT PATTERN KIMBERLY ! I love how this quilt looks. Thank you again. Take care and God Bless, Chris-Raleigh NC

Really cute!
Beautiful
I love it!!! Thanks for another triangles on a roll quilt!!❤️
Another beautiful quilt thank you 😊💐
Love this quilt!
Oh, I really love this one. It's definitely on my to do list.
I really like this pattern. Thank you Kimberly
The arrow are there for a reason. Sew in the direction they point and you don’t stop and start so often
Sew fun!
Love it Kimberly! A great stash buster for prints and then only needing a solid.

Fabulous idea to use layer cakes. I think that would work if you have two matching 10 inch squares (or 2 that read the same color).
I love the quilt and the fabric,
Wow Kimberly I totally love this idea it’s the best one yet you come up thanks for sharing !💕🧵✂️
It is wonderful.💕
THAT was awesome 👌 gonna have to make it! Keep up the great work 👍
Awesome quilt and you made it so easy!!!! I love it.
Love this quilt design, the fabrics and easy construction!
Thank you!!

They must have updated to pattern, I downloaded it today and it now says two rolls are needed.

I did not use the 7" roll. I cut my squares 8" x 8" and made the half square triangle and trimmed to 7 1/2 inches.
It’s worse in NZ!
@@pamelaallen1893 I am not a fan of having to pay for the papers seems so much easier to just make HST.
Great tutorial as usual. Thank you, Kimberly. Can you please tell me what background fabric was used. Thank you!
it looks like the Harpers Garden Tonal Ivory
(37576 14) which is sold out but they recommend Bella Ivory solid as an alternative!

It's a cute pattern, but it doesn't look like a flower....more like a star.

Do you have a tutorial for plaid farmhouse quilt

Can I make this pattern with out using the paperwork
Hello Aileen! Yes, you can make this quilt without using the Triangles on a Roll Paper.
I did not have 1/4inch on my points on the outside. I'm not great with points but I don't usually lose ALL of them. Did anyone else have this issue?
Does it matter if you follow the arrows?
Nope, the arrows are the suggested sewing line to follow, and if you follow them then you will have to start and stop less. But as Kimberly shows here, you can go in any direction you like.
Hi Kimberley, can you tell me the brand name of the sewing machine you are using?
Thx.
Hello! It is a Juki 2010QL.
❤️❤️❤️
How can I make a pillow using leftover blocks?
Absolutely, Denise!

Why don’t you just pivot and keep going

You say in your video that the pattern for this is free but I only see where you are charging $10.98 for it 🤷♀️
