If you can relate to the feeling of YOUR task list overflowing and clogging your productivity, I've created a FREE email course for you: processdriven.co/task-plunger/? It's called Task Plunger 🚽🪠 because... well, of course I’d name it that. 😆
Thank you. This was the best time management video I have seen, because it really looked at what it is that eats time and how to address that by looking at tasks, systems, etc., rather than just shifting time-blocks around on a calendar, or something similar. The discussion around delegation as part of that was also very helpful.
The most important thing here is that you had standard and stable processes and were therefore able to make successful changes and know how much improvement you had. I love it. Thank you for walking us through this whole journey in an authentic way.
I love absolutely everything about this 🤗 First off, THANK YOU ❤, this video has made me feel less trapped within my own time & delegation dilemma in the “black hole” of tasks only I am qualified to do within my company. This format shines a light on a darker area of business growth and burnout, but most importantly brings hope and real ideas for resolution. Thank you for your vulnerability in sharing this. I am so happy for your positive outcome & you know I’ll be here cheering you & the PD team on with anything you decide to put out next!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aw, thank you Ashton! I'm SO glad to hear this was helpful for you and felt tactical enough to connect with you! And you're so right about burnout! Knock on wood, I've never reached full-on burnout BUT I know it's wildly common, especially for content creators. Frankly, I think getting good at this process in the video of recognizing "Oh no, we're going through one of these spirals.... need to course correct!" is the only way that's been possible. But it's not nearly as click-bait worthy as the extremes of "everything is amazinggggg!" and "omg I'm so burn out I'm quitting everything" so I don't think it gets enough airtime! 🥰
This video is so helpful to see the strategies, along with the real-world applications. This isn't an online course about how to sell online courses, this is how to actually improve your business.
This video was soooooo helpful and relatable with what I’ve been struggling with as well as my business grows! I cannot even begin to express my gratitude! ❤️❤️
This was one of my favorite videos you've ever made Layla! Listening to Buy Back Your Time in conjuction with your content is really helping me stay focused on getting processed documented and delegated appropriately. Thank you!
Oh Stephanie that really means a lot to me. Thank you for taking the time to share! I haven't read Buy Back Your Time but based on the mentions I've heard of it definitely sounds like a wonderful pairing for process-building! 🤓
Oh yeah! I'm grateful of this kind of content. It helps me put things into perspective as a solo-preneur. Your content has been fundamental to learning productivity in business!
Invaluable! Thank you so much for all the free content you’ve shared over the past few years. It has been immensely helpful in building my business, and I greatly appreciate the value you’ve provided.
That was an incredibly insightful and super helpful to see in real time what analysis of a business looks like. I appreciate the vulnerability. I’m also left feeling like an infant with just about zero grasp of the inner workings of my company. I have a LONG way to go.
Want to share my overview of working, of course subjective and don't apply for everyone. I think the list at 5:05 I will avoid at all costs in engineering as it will crush peoples performance immediately. I have team 6 people and we just focus on outcome at all costs avoiding templates for specific project execution. This will make people free to prioritise what is better to execute. Big epics is must but day-day tasks, no way.
Hope this makes sense, but I also question the ‘value of tracking value’ at this level of detail… at least from an engineering perspective, I’ve never seen something like this NOT crush productivity (apologies for the double negatives). From my experience and at this level of detail, tasks and task categories are either valuable or they’re not…. Value of outcomes, however, is much more interesting in my opinion.
This content is great! It seems like you would really benefit from applying Lean principles in your agency, specifically Value Stream Mapping and Flow. It will make all of the issues more visible, and encourage your leaders to find potential issues before they turn into big issues.
I like this format! It's great to see how to actually work through thorny problems - where the rubber meets the road, so to speak. Too much "Ivory Tower" stuff out there that sounds nice, but is too far removed from "real life" to implement. Also - some of what you're saying about the value of work sounds alot like themes in "Deep Work" by Cal Newport. He discusses looking figuring out the critical, valuable pieces of your job that really define your success, getting your FOCUS on those, and minimizing the rest.
Oh, I'm glad! Also, I haven't read that book Peter, but I've heard of it enough time that it sounds like it might be worth adding to my audio book reading list!
Probably one of my fave videos Layla. I've shared it to loads of my business mates! Would love to be a fly on the wall of your quarterly and 1:1s ... obviously without confidential info shared
Hi Layla, congratulations for all. I have structured the workflow of my small agency in ClickUp and would kindly like to know if it is possible to book a 30 minute call with you to optimize it and - if yes - what is the procedure and cost to do it. Thank you and have a good day, Diego.

This is incredibly helpful! Videos like these, which show real life, are much more applicable. Thanks for letting us in.

Pressure without direction is just stress. Put direction to pressure and it will propel you forward like a rocket!

Wow! Nice concept of servant leadership there Layla! Thanks.
Welcome!
This type of video provides great value to SMB owners. Greetings from Barcelona. Thank you!!
Definitely loved this format.
I'm so glad! I really wasn't sure how this one would be received!

Great point. Scoping tasks is and should be completely different for makers vs. general team members!

Excellent, video. Taking a look “under the hood” is enlightening for people like me that just started a solo-preneur project. Thanks!
I'm glad this was helpful for you! I was nervous putting this out there. :)
