I love that you keep reinforcing the fact that it should be the do'ers and not the managers who write up the SOPs. We are starting more cross training since I have somebody going to England for a month and this is perfect timing.

Overall love this video, one thing I will say is that video SOPs work extremely well in my organization. We don't make 30 minute SOPs. We make them extremely bite sized 1-3 minutes that way updating them is simple when we do make changes. Love the videos Layla!

this is just timely. My boss and I were discussing last night how to oblige team members to follow SOPs. Simple tasks like creating task folders in Dropbox or turning on the time tracker for a subtask are ignored by the team. It's so frustrating that I have to remind them almost every day to please do this or add a comment/status update on ClickUP for the next shift to continue with the task...

Same here. It's so frustrating and time consuming. At some point I am writing the comments in tasks for my colleagues because they just don't bother doing it. At the end of the week I have the feeling I did mostly the job of my colleagues. Did I mention it's frustrating? 😂

I completely understand this frustration! Hopefully this video helps!

I recently joined as a Process Driven member and I’m learning so much and going through the steps. Also, as I am working on production in my custom framing work shop, I’ve been listening to your UA-cam videos. I find that some of the ideas and structure of ClickUp is starting to make more sense as I hear the content of your videos. Thanks for simplifying what once felt too overwhelming for me to tackle as a small business with no prior leadership experience.

I am in charge of developing SOPS for my department. Thank you for videos. You have a great, interesting way of presenting the information.

#3 is a bit challenging when you are a newer business and your workers are still going through training and don’t know what the correct way of doing it is. As is my current struggle.

Great advice as always Layla! I think the Comment feature on my SOPs (most of them are just Docs in ClickUp, I like how clean the page is) could be a quick way to encourage team ownership, great suggestion. Also, I had to rewatch your drooling mime a few times, it was awesome.🤣

Creating your recipe for the Standard Operating Procedure:
    1. SOPS are not optional. Make it a focus for all!
    2. SOPS are unknown.
    3. SOPs are not helpful. Remember to include the "doers".
    4. SOPs are not trusted. Update accordingly.
    5. SOPs are not memorized.
    Make a Sanity Checklist.

I sometimes wonder whether I, being a VERY linear person, might find SOPs more useful than the more 'free spirited' members of my small team. I see this as a left-brain (me) versus right-brain (others I won't name!) issue.

Great point! I think our goal is often to just find the way to make that same resource/tool helpful to as many "styles" of workers as possible!
