Excellent fishing machine and by calling it a kayak, it stays open to the kayak tournaments. I just sold my second kayak, no matter how high the seat goes in a regular kayak, its not high enough. The seat is exactly where it needs to be for all day comfort. I have a Triton TR186 as well and i can tell you once i get my butt into 1 of these it will be tough to keep the bass boat, the maintenance costs, insurance, and gas on a bass boat is a tough pill to swallow for a weekend tournament angler like myself, not to mention tow vehicle to pull the big boat around, spending tens of thousands to win hundreds has simply taken the fun out of fishing for me. I cant wait for these to hit themarket, would love get one for the wife aswell
Wow ... such a great concept for fly fishing, shallow water fishing, duck hunting (a moving blind)... I want to try for a Silver King Tarpon in Tampa Bay on mine. Also, I love the Idea a the exercise from the Pedaling... Light weight, easy to transport.... a floating fishing platform... no more stiff legs from sitting too long... Thank You Blue Sky ....
I was at Delaware Paddle Sports this weekend and tried one of these. It is very slow and a lot of work to pedal. On the plus side it is super stable. I could hold onto the chair and jump up and down on one side and it didn't hardly move.
Hey Eric, great product but ur missing a large group of customers. A lot of us fish salt water bays and harbors where a little chop is common and a 29 foot boat doing 30 nearby can wreck ur day. Do u plan on making something for us or modifying this for us? Maybe bigger pontoons and a revised front porch with a plexiglass extension on an angle to prevent the chop from making for a wet day? Would love to have this with some revisions.
Is there a video of someone paddling this machine? I'd like to know what paddle to buy and what to do if the pedal and e-drive system fails in the middle of a large body of water.
Very cool. But Im kind of wondering why not just get a john boat or something? Can do all of the same stuff but does not cost nearly as much and is probably more durable.
in some states the regulations require any water craft that requires power to move needs to be registered with the state and subject to boarding by U.s. Coast Guard and have multiple life vests and fire extinguisher and a lot of other stuff i can't remember . If i were just fishing small lakes and rivers... You bet id spend my hard cash on a little jon boat and paddles around. I would never attempt that in Tampa Bay
You can't do all the same stuff. The Jon boat isn't as maneuverable, you sit too low in the jon boat, doesn't have the flat deck, more water drag, no built in wheel trolly, no storage (unless you like stepping over stuff). Bah, too much stuff. If all people wanted were Jon boats, there wouldn't be so many kayaks out there costing so much more.
The small black area in the front and the back seem super flimsy. You advertised putting a cooler there and then standing on it. That seems like it would bust right through. Any input on that?
Your rudder system, specifically where the line pulls the rudder up I noticed that the line is rubbing on the 1" X 1" inch bar as its being pulled, with time the line will fray and break off. i sure by going back to the drawing board you can have a better setup; this one looks cheap on this craft.
Cool concept. I still think a small Jon Boat makes more sense but then again I’m a kayak and small Jon boat kinda girl lol. Not hating though. I love the open floating deck concept.
love the design. price, not so much.. the walking areas, like the "porches" for example, seem somewhat flimsy.. would love it if they were toughened up a bit.. seems some ribbing could be done to stiffen it a little. make it more rigid. i will say, this would be awesome if it broke down small enough to fit in the Focus RS hatchback with the toons on top on a rack..
I've been a Hobie PA 14' owner for a while and my biggest complaint is the weight of the unit. I saw the video of the kids moving this unit around. Impressive! My question is around stability in chop. I'm a Texas Coast fisherman where chop is the norm. Is the height of the chair an issue in windy/choppy conditions? Finally, I bought a Hobie PA for it's maneuverability and speed. It's pretty fast and can turn on a dime. Can you test this unit head to head with others in it's price range and if you have what was the outcome?
In Virginia a kayak or canoe propelled by any type of motor, including electric, must be registered if used on public waters. As far as my earlier comment, I can now see how this came across as criticism. I said "thumbs down" because I've been a recipient myself of the "why not get a boat" comment regarding my fishing kayak. The Blue Sky is innovative and a quality item (I've seen them up close). I'd have one in a heartbeat under the right circumstances.
Next thing to add will be side protection from critters, like an exterior bulkhead or a wall. After more and more additions are added......in the end you have a boat. You can paddle anything that floats. Personally, I'm not impressed.

Great concept. I will be getting one of these when I'm ready to upgrade.
What an absolutely awesome Rig! Keeping my eyes pealed for updates on this one!

Like!!! My bad knees say thank you. Been working on a way to raise my seat in my big tuna but this covers it. 👍
Nice rig. Needs fore and aft cleats to enable dock mooring.
You can get yak attack cleats for the rail system
Suggestion.... Would be nice to have the option of a skeg or rudder control for the 360 pro.

I really like this design 👍👍
Great start on an outrigger canoe for the masses. Use a starboard hull and make a 6 foot ama. Cut a foot well and start surf shenanigans.
Any foam floatation inside the hulls? Without foam or air chambers, if the hulls fill up with water, the boat will sink.
the yak ive been waiting for! rotating seat!
That front and back deck looks a little scary the way it gives. Is it supported well?
Kayak Uprising I’m guessing that those decks are still prototype form?
Kayak Uprising they have an aluminum backing on the production version
Looks great I can't wait

Because then, you could not fish in a kayak tournament if it was a Jon Boat. This somehow skirts the tournament rules.
Bass Dojo actually no, this is not allowed in kayak tournaments due to the width

How much thrust will the electric motor have?

PatVegas89 production version has an aluminum backing on each one

I have to get one of these!
Is this going to be aloud in kayak tournaments such as the kbf tournaments

Have you tested this inshore fishing?? I live in texas and really like this idea but do a lot of salt water fishing and looking for kayaks for that
Can this thing handle rough water offshore ?
Looks amazing

callofgeorge production version has an aluminum backing on each ‘porch’
I've gotta have this!!
The big question is how much?
$3000 for the "normal" one.. forgot the actual name.. $3500 for the angler version..

Did anyone notice the ''Bigfoot'' in the background?
Richard Tuneff well placed green leaves in the dark shadow at the beginning that looked like eye shine?
could you put a small outboard on that?
Yep, we have had some of our customers already do just that. Most though are waiting for the E-Drive that is coming out this Nov.
I need one...
can you take it offshore ??
One thumb up for not calling it a kayak. One thumb down for being another example of "just get a boat and be done with it".
too bad you have to register a boat

pontoon boat really... could you mount an outboard engine to it? :D
The seat is too high and it looks flimsy and stupid standing there like you're a king. Do you ship to AU and how much is it, Eric?
Make the seat lower for us ocean barring folk! You need calm waters for this one
TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!
It's a pickle fork kayak
2:06 😂👌
I don't think the wheel system would work very well.
Fat Americans and older fishermen will love this.
Put the damn thing in the water......
Its a pontoon boat
A truck bed loadable pontoon, which can be advantageous.
Bull shit
I want to see that cow in the water
