Thank you Raybe for sharing your story. I know the journey is so tough and long but your bravery is inspiring. I agree with what you said at the end that some times it's better to do a painful thing than to regret, and that everything happens for a reason, whether good or bad, they are important chapters in our story and we have to own it and just keep moving forward. That spoke to me in this low season of my life. Thank you and my blessings to you. Yes I would love to hear you sing getai some day!

as mother myself, i would have been embarassed of myself not teaching my kid well. Instead of staying and acting mature like adult, encouraging speeding and dangerous act that highly causing not only self danger, but to public too. It was so damn lucky that it was in a period of no people around the street, else many other would have been killed too
Thank you for those comments highlighting her mistakes done in the past. Those lives lost and their reckless actions cannot be condoned. And thank you to those comments citing she is promoting herself and that this video is to glorify her. Firstly, I hope you watched fully this 23min documentary before commenting. The content were mostly facts on when, how the unfortunate incident unfolded and her progress thus I do not understand how it glorifies her. Of cos you are entitled to your own views and comments. It is your prerogative. Secondly, I wish if you ever make any grave mistakes, society will be kind upon you. Raybe, if you are reading this, continue to be brave, keep the past as your compass check to stay humble but never let it hold you down with fear of judgement. People will judge you all the time, before your accident, after your accident. Now you are given another chance, remember to pay it forward. There will always be people negative towards you, thank them for the feedback graciously and carry on good works. Will keep you in prayers that you receive more positive strength and energy!
the point is if you are telling a stories, you tell the full stories, not selectively ignoring one the most critical point in the stories. its like you are trying to tell a spiderman stories on how uncle ben died, but you intentionally ignore the critical story point that peter letting go of the thief, which indirectly causing the death of uncle ben. This is one crusial and critical puzzle of the stories and greatly impact how the stories unfold. In this case, the stupid act of involving/encouraging stupid act is not even mentioned here, hence you cant blame people for accusing the channel for glorifying the story, the output of the video is literally glorying it regardless of its actual intention.
The title of this documentary is Restart thus I reckon the producer’s focus is on how Raybe continues her life after the incident, educating the public on the current medical abilities and status to help burnt patients, how the mental and psychological health of the patient, as well as all surrounding factors attributed, impacting burn victims including Raybe, Results varies and they try to explain the extent of how the patients are affected physically and psychologically. Glorifying is defined as praise and admiration given, which to some extent, given what Raybe has been through, it is already a painful punishment which deemed by some, she deserves praise for courage to move forward - working hard to reconcile with herself. Exactly what happened in Spider-Man, Peter had to accept the mishap has happened, the loss of his uncle Ben so he could forgive the robber/thief, move forward to become a hero himself in helping others. It is easier to wallow in depression and stay broken, instead of fighting the pain and suffering - some people prefer to just do nothing, just stay sad and drowse in self pity. Perhaps you can write in to Mediacorp and ask them to start another documentary series - Regrets I understand your point but relevant context here is of paramount importance. Bluntly, Raybe is just a subject example of focus to fulfill what the documentary is attempting to drive the message to the audience - burnt patient overcomes all odds. We know mental health can be over rated at times (strawberries gen) but we cannot deny suicides and suicide crimes are increasing, perhaps someone in depression could find glimmer of hope to find courage to face reality, forgive themselves or others and find positivity to carry on with life.
What courage and tenacity! Raybe, I truly salute you! Although I have never met you, you have been an inspiration of selflessness, bravery and perseverance to me. You are a light to this world! Don't listen to the haters who focus only on the speeding and the accident. You risked your life trying to save your friends, and you weathered the pains of recovery. That is love and courage that haters can never see.
Praying for your recovery.. you are still as beautiful as ever. Embrace yourself and get over your past. As long as you live, there's always hope. Just believe that there's a better tomorrow.

Let us not forget the said car accident. Reckless driving under influence of alcohol, who could have harmed the lives of others, be it whatever extent the damage could have been. the hubris and consequences of a misspent youth.... when the.story first broke, i was saddened and angry about this totally avoidable and stupid accident... i was glad that innocent bystanders were not hurt and the casualties deserved what they got.. play stupid games and win stupid prizes.... still, i was quite taken aback as to how she tried to save the people and got injured.... my heart goes out to her.... i am totally awed by her strength of character and bravery... i sincerely do not even know if i could do the same if i were in a similar situation... this woman is a total keeper. i hope that she will find love again and her spouse could easily see past the scars and only notice her true beauty. i for one feel that she should complete her healing and wear her scars proudly. sure, people would do a double take but they are not scars of shame, rather badges of honour. her selfless valiant attempt alone is heroism seldom seen in this era. i paradoxically feel that she should have been a tad more selfish and spared her personal safety a little more thought. before any woke fairies decide to lament about me calling out the facts and addressing the proverbial elephant in the room, i am not trying to speak ill of the dead, but i sincerely state that her shockingly irresponsible and stupid jackass of a boyfriend really did not deserve her. i am critical and harsh because he was an educated, grown ass man that should have known loads better. the aftermath and grief of a monumentally stupid decision that loved ones are still paying for and likely continue for the rest of their lives. so, a cautionary tale of pain is not temporary and glory is not forever either... we take risks in our youth but we must always have at least one toe on the ground so that we can walk away from failed attempts. i wish ms raybe the very best, truly close this chapter of her life and move on.... her inner beauty has far outshone whatever has happened to her skin deep... any man would be lucky to take home a gem like her....
@kushpreetdiamonique8825 it was fortunate that no passerby or innocents were hurt... that whole area was dotted with restaurants, cafes and drinking holes. can you imagine coming out of dinner and getting mowed down or having some drinks and a car comes crashing into the establishment? furthermore, i do not believe that the driver had not shown signs of such rash and brainless tendencies in the past... he was no stranger to idiotic impulses and likely had an ego to match. all his friends, and raybe included, failed to recognize or distance themselves from this dangerous cocktail of brashness and machismo... it was precisely all the failures on so many levels from so many people that led to this disaster.... i am not saying that the people around him were culpable, just calling out that if everybody had had their head screwed on right that night, this crash would likely not have happened. his friends would not have been in the car trying to beat F1 lap times, there would then be no reason to "test" his car.... even if he did decide to test his car and crashed, at least the others would be alive.... raybe would still have attempted to save him though.... oh well.... i guess it was not obvious to raybe... i am not a stranger to risk taking. i used to teach scuba and i parachute when i was younger, i do enjoy racing too but i had never done it on public roads. i have in my lifetime met numerous egotistical yahoos that think that they are THE MAN. these are the exact same people that get into trouble and spoil the trip for everybody.... they are cool until they are not. i may appear especially harsh but history keeps repeating itself... the only way to protect yourself from reckless stupidity is to distance yourself from it. of course you yourself can subscribe to this exciting lifestyle of carefree abandon, but as this cautionary tale portends: you can always do you, just don't overestimate your abilities and drag others into your, in this case, BBQ party. i read in the news report that the group was in a friend's restaurant eating and drinking before the crash.... was alcohol involved? i do not really pity the driver or his friends.... at least they had an exhilarating 2 laps before they crashed and how many people can actually say that they passed after a great last meal, an exhilarating adrenaline high and went out with a bang? you make your bed and you have to lie in it... they had their fun but their families and especially raybe is stuck with the aftermath forever... this was told to me long ago by a fellow parachutist: "the sky is never the limit.... the ground is."

@@user-ur8zb9xp7l most youths that do these tatts usually belong in one of two catagories... they are either in some sort of a gang, which has fallen quite out of favour in modern singapore, or have pretty low self-esteem at some stage of their lives... the outward display is to instill a sense of awe and admiration in the viewer... however in the asian context, most people sub-consciously reject and judge the person for having tatts.... first thing to come to mind is "gangster" or "wayward good-for-nothing".... to be fair, i have seen really nice work and the tastefully done ones are really masterpieces but those are really few and far in between.... i did do my own little survey through the years and most people with big tatts do regret it later in life, especially those with full sleeves or those peeking out of the neck.... those that cannot be easily covered by clothes... if you want to be a rebel, you have the freedom to do so, but you have to accept the social stigma and rejection from the silent and "not-so-cool" majority... nobody would ever outwardly say it to your face, but rest assured you lose a whole lot of credibility and nobody would take you seriously. yes, it is totally judging a book by its cover but it is how people size people up.... also understand that you would look like a droopy sack and a total dork when you hit your late 40s-50s.... 😅

Jiayou Raybe! You have one of the most beautiful souls I know of. I hope your skin will slowly heal with the advancement in medical technologies. Regardless, you are incredibly brave and beautiful in my eyes. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and letting us understand and learn from your perspectives and experiences. Lotsa love for you and your family ❤

One of the best things I’ve watched for awhile!
I wish I can have only half the strength you have Raybe. Keep going girl!
Their exchanges beween 10:03 to 10:36 are very subtle and pragmatic but super touching. A very classical exchange of asian tough love.
Very fortunate and very courageous girl.

You are one of the bravest and strongest person I have seen. As a mother myself, I cannot imagine the nightmare and pain she went thru seeing you like that. Thank you for living your life courageously whether it is for yourself or your mom, and facing your future with such determination and positivity. All the best to you Raybe. Your live ahead will be one shining one. Be well and stay well. ❤
as mother myself, i would have been embarassed of myself not teaching my kid well. Instead of staying and acting mature like adult, encouraging speeding and dangerous act that highly causing not only self danger, but to public too. It was so damn lucky that it was in a period of no people around the street, else many other would have been killed too
Thanks for sharing! You are a beautiful Soul❤️
Your bravery, inner strength will be your greatest asset towards your recovery. My sincere blessing to you and your family in rebuilding your life.
You have a kind and beautiful soul. wishing you all the best and universe will give you the best arrangement!
Perhaps you can write in to Mediacorp and ask them to start another documentary series - Regrets
I understand your point but relevant context here is of paramount importance.
Thanks for covering this! I have been wondering how she is!!! This is one strong gurl! Jiayou Raybe!
can't imagine the courage needed... to step out again... really strong girl
Your goodness will be remembered in heaven and earth. May God bless you abundantly and continue to be your guiding light

You are a very strong woman! May God bless you and your family and never give up!

Hi Raybe! Thank you for sharing your story. It shows us how frail life can be, yet also, how strong the human spirit is. Rooting for you. May strength & resilience always light your way. 生命有时很脆弱,但你好勇敢。绝境生出勇气,涅槃重生的你,依然美丽。 ❤💙
Let us not forget the said car accident. Reckless driving under influence of alcohol, who could have harmed the lives of others, be it whatever extent the damage could have been. Why was such an act condoned in the first place. Basically, if not for the accident, everyone involved would have gotten away scott free. I'm glad there are signs out there to remind us that drink driving is dangerous. Keeps our roads safe drivers! Be responsible
Who condoned their actions? And the involved definitely did not get away scott free, they paid the ultimate price and so did their loved ones.
@@AvengeBasketball yea. Paid the price but yet glorified? 🤔
It’s hardly glorifying, seeing how much she has lost. If anything it’s a cautionary tale to others on the very real consequences.
@@orrac1e then the title should change to "does she regret taking part in dangerous activities that everyone was sensible enough not to?"
@@xxueniiwhat dangerous activity she did? It’s her boyfriend driving recklessly and under influence. She did nothing? In fact, the only “reckless” action she did is to rush into a burning vehicle trying to save her boyfriend and other friends. This so called “reckless” action, many, including me, will deem as brave.
Beautiful strong Raybe, you deserve the best ❤ God is with you , we are all rooting for you
Babe you have the most beautiful, soothing voice and pair of eyes. Pls believe me when I tell you I can tell how captivating and charismatic you are. ❤️ That’s something I think the accident didn’t manage to take away from you and that is what most important too! Sending love 🩷

I suffer from arthiritists and the pain is unberable but i cant imagine the pain you went through and the surgeries you undergone..brave woman..God bless!!!❤❤❤
the hubris and consequences of a misspent youth.... when the.story first broke, i was saddened and angry about this totally avoidable and stupid accident... i was glad that innocent bystanders were not hurt and the casualties deserved what they got.. play stupid games and win stupid prizes.... still, i was quite taken aback as to how she tried to save the people and got injured.... my heart goes out to her.... i am totally awed by her strength of character and bravery... i sincerely do not even know if i could do the same if i were in a similar situation...
this woman is a total keeper. i hope that she will find love again and her spouse could easily see past the scars and only notice her true beauty. i for one feel that she should complete her healing and wear her scars proudly. sure, people would do a double take but they are not scars of shame, rather badges of honour. her selfless valiant attempt alone is heroism seldom seen in this era. i paradoxically feel that she should have been a tad more selfish and spared her personal safety a little more thought. before any woke fairies decide to lament about me calling out the facts and addressing the proverbial elephant in the room, i am not trying to speak ill of the dead, but i sincerely state that her shockingly irresponsible and stupid jackass of a boyfriend really did not deserve her. i am critical and harsh because he was an educated, grown ass man that should have known loads better. the aftermath and grief of a monumentally stupid decision that loved ones are still paying for and likely continue for the rest of their lives.
so, a cautionary tale of pain is not temporary and glory is not forever either... we take risks in our youth but we must always have at least one toe on the ground so that we can walk away from failed attempts. i wish ms raybe the very best, truly close this chapter of her life and move on.... her inner beauty has far outshone whatever has happened to her skin deep... any man would be lucky to take home a gem like her....
@@hawwusong74 you are correct ; the neighbourhood living in nearby hdb said this group and their friends had driven a few rounds before tge accident.
And this young lady was there to support her boyfriend's act / hobby. There is an earlier video of the cars zooming past her , either filmed by herself or her girlfriend.
@@hawwusong74 "THE MAN" in this case had a tattoo on his chest !! OMG.
I saw spotted it thru his white shirt, in one of the newspaper photo
@@hawwusong74 perhaps THE MAN was one of them.... At his funeral, they had ordered electric neon light flowers and rav their motor cars !!

Kinda weird to be glorifying this lady, who was encouraging her friends to speed and race their cars. People who do that are no different from murderers. I feel sorry for her, yes, but some people are going overboard with your praises
