- A short chapter about 4-corner pin tracking in Blender. That is a commonly used technique to quickly insert deforming elements into footage without having to do a complete camera track.
On the dvd this chapter covers everything from Tracking to attaching an image to the markers and compositing. This video shows you some excerpts from it.

Made by Sebastian Koenig.
I tried this about a month ago, same method but the image on the plane became distroted when I rendered it out.
I'm sure if you buy it from the store it will show you all of that.
just select the plane in edit mode and unwrap it and fit it in the uv editor
and make sure the texture is uv not generated
Really great tutorial! I wish you went a little bit more in depth on the compositing aspect even though it is more of a trial and error thing, but great tutorial otherwise! Thanks!
THis is EXACTLY what I' ve been looking for! And it will become the first training DVD I will buy ever. It seems to be worth every penny.
I've used blender myself, and while its great that its there for people ( many of us) with little money, its really not for your average person. Bending for example, is a real pain in the tootie, compared to smarter ( yes more expensive, but apparently worth it) apps like max or maya, where bending is amazingly easy to do. Blender needs those kinds of things, to be taken seriously. They also don't have anywhere near the amount of modifiers that the big guys do. Lots of similar things.
@mikkepalvanen Something called "compositing". Actually, he just take this footage, mix with the renders (aka the trailer), change the type for "add" and tada, the trailer is now integrated into the computer. It's just like After effect or photoshop but instead of using layers, blender use a nodes system.
Good one, but this is just an example in camera tracking when camera tracking has other function in different projects.
For the first time in my life I am compelled to buy a training DVD...this guy is absolutely brilliant. I need this right away. It will finally solve my work-flow problem from PF-Track to Blender to AE. Buying this.
@SEspider If you are talking about the reflection on the screen, I think he did it in the compositor with the "add" mix node. It combines the original reflection from the video with the 3d screen simulation.
@nutzeeer you certainly can with a little study. You could start by downloading a model from the blendswap site, load it into blender, press the record button and move both your model around and the green bar in the timeline.
At 5:15, the video accelerates through the compositing training. Please verify the fast forwarding was only for the UA-cam sample. Does the DVD provide normal speed training with narration?
This guy has the best tutorials. Perfect pace, everything is clear and understandable, and super helpful stuff with nifty little tricks. Looking forward to when the DVD comes out :)
new texture -> image or movie and then insert your movie and fit it to timing :)
@mikkepalvanen According to your channel, I'm quite surprised you ask this question. On this tutorial, you just have to click on "open" on the bottom of the screen.
Well his english is sometimes a bit confusing but I think he's a good teacher.
Nevertheless supporting Blender is always a good thing so I guess I'm gonna buy this DVD too.
This technique does not work well with perspective. The plane is only deformed, but it will not properly deform any images applied to it.
you see that bit at the end with the lines inbetween those control boxes. is that meant to be similar to softimage's ICE trees? looks good:)
i love hearing your voice talking about Blender.
This was great until I lost track when the video sped up. Well, it is an example chapter.
Hi, nice vid! @ 5:21, how can you create the render layer with only the movie on the plane? I'm blocked at this part :( Thx!
@stickfigure42 Ohhhhhhhh right. Thats actually really funny now that I understand.
@Dooblestudios thanks! and the details are on the dvd of course.... ;)
That was the easy part. How do we composite it to match the main video's lighting?
I really hope you make a simple macro/script that automatically creates and hooks an F-gon to selected null objects.
have been on maya for a long time. it's amazing to see how much blender has come, it's truly impressive
is the speaker are german one ? :D i think i could here his german origin (i am german too btw)
@blender3dmaster Thanks for letting me know!!!! (Somehow I feel very embarrassed right now)
@michillin212 It can't make smoothies either, can it? (All blenders should make smoothies)
@cyber398 under the Scene tab, set the "Active Clip" to the video your tracking.
Is there anything blender can't do? Besides make sammiches?
Lol: "blender" > "autodesk", according to the famous Google search engine.
i wish i would have programmed belnder... i would totally understand it .-.
@LudwigSpiegel These are the people who created it
Awesome feature, but damn, how many stages and cryptic keypresses >.
pretty awesome! I look forward of getting this! ;D
How to coordinate/place the movie clip on the plane?
@AniCator Where'd you get smoothies from?
Which version of Blender are you using?
Very Interesting!!! How did you learn Blender??
Cool! Thanks for this useful tutorial :D
@ReymondCA Yup, Sebastian König is from Germany.
@ReymondCA Ja :D Das ist Sebastian König, der hat das Tracking System entwickelt :D
@michillin212 Smoothies.. WHYYYY!?
can you make a 3d object fly on the screen?
Low it, will probably try it sometime! :)
this is probably easier in after effects
i agree -1%
wow thanks for the tips :)
great tutorial, thanks you so much
Excellent work, man!
Excellent!!!!
Fantastic!!!
nice
Nice work :)
Thank you :D
Perfect.
So cool! (Auf deutsch:"So cool!")
@LudwigSpiegel lol
