Can you please tell me how to render this scene in Cycles? I made a scene with one object and I put a plane for the shadows, and then I rendered that with Cycles. The plane was on the scene, I can remove it, but then the shadows are gone too. How can I make it invisible and keep only the shadows?

    • @Imacuser223

I'm no expert so forgive me... but wouldn't that corrupt the tracking? Dark spots in one frame might suddenly become white in another when ambient light bouncing off an object hits the camera lens at the right angle.
Theory aside, why bother adding that extra step when you can already use the environment as a marker for tracking?

Every time I try to track my scene, practically all of the trackers are INSIDE the camera when you view it in the 3D View. The scene is literally just a right to left pan, but I wanted to track to try and take the guess work out of getting the perspective and speed right. But my camera is pretty much moving at half the pan speed it needs to even though my camera solve is 0.185. This is incredibly frustrating as I've already redone the entire tracking multiple times at this point.

Yes, this was my very first thought too. A good motion blur would improve the final vid much better than cycles render. Cheers!

Well... I uh, can't change my Memory Cache Limit to any more than 1024.... and I'm guessing that's why it's been taking about a half hour to track one point.

I did it! But my computer isn’t great. At all. It took me 4 hours of waiting for it to render a nine second clip

Does anyone know if this is possible in Blender 2.69? I´m using exactly the same trackerpoints and am following along as well as I can but my cube doesn´t move, it´s enormous(?) and the camerasolve is at best around 1.600. I don't understand what I can do more than following along exactly. Anyone else have the same problems?

The beginning... it was great, but the thought of what people might have thought made me cringe. lol
Thanks for the tutorial. Right now, i animate video games using SFM, and i want to switch to blender soon, so i can make higher quality videos.

I got an average solve error of 0.0000
um.. that shouldn't be possible right? I used a lot less points and they were not nearly as good as his... I even had one point that didn't track all the way through (it would get lost)

Cached or cache is pronounced kash'd or kash. its used to describe a temporary store for quicker retrieval. In this case cached video is stored in RAM to allow the user to rapidly scrub through cached footage in the timeline

I think the reason we're having trouble is because his video is highly compressed. Just go and film your own little footage with an HD camera, good lighting, and good markers. It should work much better.
