So many helpful videos man. I really appreciate this. There’s such a lack of Fuji content that is geared towards this type of content and this checks all the boxes!
Hi Blaise! Thank you so much for this! Xt5 was my first long time mirrorless cam (can canon r50 for a month but sold it off for xt5). I love it for photos then i realized wanted to do videos too. I was at the point of selling it off as well for the xh2s simply due to the flip screen. Hope you can make more videos about how to use the xt5 for video and work arounds for the flip screen if you want to vlog with it.
Glad to hear the video was helpful! Going to be doing some more videos about the camera for sure. I don't think I have any tips for vlogging without a flip screen. It may be easiest for you to use your phone and or change the style of shooting to fit the gear you have. Hope some of the videos I have planned will be helpful to ya!
You are spot on!! I have the x-s20. I was just on an engagement 💍 shoot. I had the monitor in with SmallRig plug holder. The port still messed up due to how I unplugged it. Luckily, I had taken all of the interview shots I needed. I used the x-t4 as my second angle. Anyway, my 1st big job and I can no longer use a monitor. BTW, if you have a fix, please let me know. I know, no more mini hdmi camera purchases for me. This looks like a good A-cam option for me. I don't want to go into CF express yet. Glad I am learning on this camera now.
Thanks so much! Ah sorry to hear that - I think your only option would be sending into Fuji for repair. And yeah this camera still has a micro HDMI port. Will talk about my approach to protecting it in my rig video.
Yeah HDMI mini is such an awefull connector. Im currently shooting with a X T30 Mark I and want to upgrade because i do like video shooting. I was thinking about switching to the sony a6700 because i do want to use that autofocus. I was thinking about the XH2S but it seems that native glass isnt always the fastets when it comes to video. I dont know what to do.
That’s a solid set up right there. I’m currently using the XT4 as my A Cam and my XT2 as my B Cam which definitely has it’s flaws and drawbacks. After watching this I’m seriously contemplating why I never considered the XT5 as an option.
I'm a Fuji xt4 user, but I'm thinking about a Sony FX3 just because of the high ISO option and the very good rolling shooter, my main style of vídeos is sports ads e docs/branded content, but honestly I've been thinking about the xh2-s seems a very good câmera very capable!!
i haven’t personally used the fx3 but looks amazing! i don’t think you can go wrong with either. for me, it’s image over everything and for the price i don’t think the xh2s can be beat
I have the X-T5 and X-H2s. I’m putting it off, but it is only a matter of time before I sell off the X-T5 to put toward another X-H2s. I love both cameras, but the X-H2s is better suited to my needs.
i use my XT4 as my A cam and my XH2 (not the 's') as my B cam. It works great but the rolling shutter is real - just gotta be mindful and intentional and it's fine.
I have the Comica VM30 mic and I have used it for professional shoots. It has been fantastic also it does have real-time monitoring. Also you can use it wired up to have more control and stability. Absolutely recommend to check it out.
For sure! Yeah I think I mentioned that in the video. I'd add that for the wired connection, XLR would be my preference as the thicker cables help shield it from interference, especially introduced by power cables. 3.5mm connections only are just a little dicey at times if you are running a longer cable. @@lauritee
I have an X-T5 and I use it primarily for my video’s since I shoot film photography mostly on my Nikon F2AS. The X-T5 is an amazing camera for video, definitely punches above its weight and is also considerably smaller than the XH2S (also looks cooler 😆)
Back at it again Blase 👏 lol Very clean video as usual man, another banger 😎 did you mention what lens you used for the b-roll shots? Also what are your thoughts on Nikon buying Red, neither were really on my radar for future purchases but after the acquisition I actually might look into a Nikon/Red cinema camera (maybe) lol
Thanks so much! Most were on the EF 24mm pancake. Others were on some unreleased lenses I can't mention yet :) Not a ton of thoughts on the Red/Nikon acquisition. Waiting to hear what that actually practically will look like moving forward
Love your work, I have right now an XT-3 and an XT-4, and I wonder if I should buy an XT-5 or XH2s but the budget for me right now is just for an XT-5. Would you buy it or wait some time to have the budget for XH2s? Thank you!
Hey, bro. Hope you are doing well. I want to get a new camera setup to shoot podcasts. I really like the body style of the Xt series. Would you recommend the Xt5 for video? The flip screen problem can be solved by getting an external monitor.
Hey! Yeah the XT5 would be great for podcasts. You want something with no record limits so your options from Fuji would be XT5, XH2, XS20, XH2S. If you are doing more personal work the XS20 might be the move. If professional then XT5 or XH2S
Exactly the video I needed, thank you! What SD cards will handle the the most demanding video on this camera? There are many to choose from, but I don't want to overpay for cards that are faster than necessary.

I think that I found the answer, you are using v-mount batteries, but for run and gun wedding situation they are pretty heavy, especially to shoot with them on gimbal.
For interviews, I typically plug in my camera/monitors directly to wall power via USB C and an extension cord. If that isn't the option or I am needing to move around, v mount is the answer. @@blasepivovar I also tried to use power banks, but the battery still died. I can set up the camera to firstly use the power bank and after that the battery? Or I need to use a special power bank?
@zsoldosbotond7531 yeah you need to make sure you have one that has a PD output. From there usb c should be sent to the camera from the PD port with a proper cable. Once the battery bank dies, the internal battery on the camera will be full charged and then will begin depleting it.
