SuperB video. I am glad I found your channel a few days ago (Nanlite FS-300B search brought it up), since I am binge-watching it. I just started all this videography madness a few months ago and I have so many questions, but thankfully, you have many answers. Keep the good content coming please.

You aren’t getting phasing or combed audio problems from booming a shotgun mic indoors? I also used to boom shotgun mics like the MKE 600, DPA 2017 or the MKH 416 indoors, until I got phasing problems with one of my interviews that pretty much ruined the audio. Luckily I had the interviewee lav’d with a Zoom F2BT as a backup, but ever since then I stopped booming shotgun mics indoors if I can help it. I have since been testing my shotgun mics to see if I could reproduce the problem, and I’ve determined that it’s far too easy to screw up the audio with a boomed shotgun indoors, especially in tight, untreated rooms. The problem apparently arises from the sound waves bouncing off the ceiling, floor and walls and hitting the interference tube at slightly different times, creating the combed audio from phase cancelation. Granted, the MKE 600 seems to fair better than the MKH 416, but I’m able to recreate the problem with both mics. For this reason, I bit the bullet and picked up the MKH 50 for booming indoors.

For tying xlr's and other things may I recommend T-Fix cablelbinders ? The come in all sorts of sizes and I never go anywhere without them (granted I'm and audio engineer, specialised in FOH work) but still very handy to bind something temporarily! Thanks for the video btw!

I use the apache rifle case for mono pods, mic stands, boom poles, and even a smaller tripod from time to time.

One of my favorite little features of the FS300B is that it doesn't have a giant power brick unlike nearly every other light. Helps traveling. Also, you can buy longer cables and not even need extension cables .

I picked up three of these lights and they fit into a single hard case. They are hard to beat for their output. Though I definitely love the extra power of the SmallRig 450b, especially when using a large softbox it feels 450 is often at 80-100%. But if I'm shooting in a space that is not competing with Windows, then these FS300b are bomb.

Hey Blase, how does the Tamron 17-70mm 2.8 compare to the asigna 18-35mm? I currently own the 17-70mm (love the feel of it, its so light even though its a bit long), but your Sigma footage is so stunning, im thinking of maybe picking one up. But if you can get shots like the Sigma on the Tamron, i might not need it. Thanks, love your content!

Love Harbor Freight for tools on set. I don't think Harbor Freight has them, but reusable zip ties are huge help. Don't know why they are a bigger thing since you don't have to blow through zip ties constantly

The fishing rod holder attached to the c-stand to hold the boom mic pole was excellent! I'm definitely using that in the future.

can u pls make alut pack for darker skin tones for both meadow flog an meadow standard cuz adjusting skin tones with ur luts are very hard, since u probably base ur color grading on lighter skin tones ty my favorite
