@@VIDSTORAGE he liked “I can’t quit you baby” a lot he said. That’s the most bluest track on there. He probably didn’t like you shook me because of the monotonous pace and the extended instrumental break. I personally love the song, but I can understand this being his least favorite.
@@benaiah2119 I judged it too soon before he got to ICQ You Babe ....You Shook Me and Hats Of to Roy Harper are the most polarizing songs of the LZ catalog ..
@@benaiah2119 Hats Off always was very funny to me since I was born and raised in the south east US I get where it is coming from with that bombastic ol country black mans humor that Robert is imitating so well....
John Paul Jones on bass, always lays down the perfect canvas for Jimmy, Robert and Bonzo to paint on. He is their hidden secret weapon. The quiet Beatle......lol.
I disagree with anyone that says their last few albums are weak or bad in any way - In Through the Out Door in particular is one of the best albums in their discography imo. Very proggy, beautifully effective minimalism from Page, etc. Presence is, imo, their weakest and there's still at least 4 S-Tier songs on it. One of the only bands, maybe the only band, with a truly excellent run all the way through.
Your Time is Gonna come is not a cover. babe Im gonna Leave was "borrowed' from Joni Mitchell. Led Zeppelin was sued by Muddy Waters, and Howlin Wolf for doing almost verbatim lyrics of their songs. The Rolling Stones did the same thing, but shouting out the originators as heroes, legends, and, respectively, originators, sharing the royalties in most cases with the songwriter of the song they "borrowed".
You keep saying "this sounds like Black Sabbath", but this album predates Black Sabbath's first album. In fact Led already had 2 albums before Sabbath's first.
Jimmy Page assembled the group, had a pre-vision for what he wanted the career to look like, and then wrote most of the music, and produced ALL of Led Zeppelin's music,.......all of it.
Jimmy Page as the last member in The Yardbirds, & the last remaining member, The Yardbirds had 6 gigs contractually to perform. Page doing the honorable thing, got John Paul Jones whom he knew, & two he didn’t know Robert Plant & John Bonham to honor the contract. They rehearsed for the first time on August 19,1968, & in September (1968) performed those 6 gigs in Scandinavia as The New Yardbirds. So NO they weren’t actually The Yardbirds, & this is their debut album, recorded in October of (1968) & released on January 12,1969.
Like and sub if you haven't, we're on our way to 2k!
Zep 1 shows their blues roots and highlights Robert's amazing voicebox!
Younger people just don't get the blues songs I have noticed when they listen to Zep 1

THE greatest thing about old music is you can be sure it isn't autotuned, pitch correction bullshit.

You Shook Me, was almost a direct cover of Muddy Water's "You shook me". From the later 1950s

I said that it sounds like Sabbath took inspiration from this, I know they came after
And they do not sound like Black Sabbath either.
Best Band Ever bro... u ´ll see (listen)
You shook me as a song is boring but the musicianship and Robert's vocals are amazing
Completely agree. The song is a great display of talent (same as every other song on the album) just not a particularly relistenable one

Can’t listen to him.
I do not think this is a debut because Led Zeppelin is a derivation of the band “The Yardbirds” so the true debut would be “For Your Love” from 1965
only jimmy spent a little time in the Yardbirds as they were taking their last breaths. This is a Zeppelin debut but not a page jones premier.
Counterpoint: when Led Zeppelin first formed they preformed under the name “The New Yardbirds”
Nahhhhh
