The day this album became available, I bought it, took it to my girlfriend's house, went to the family room, hair down to my shoulders, cranked up the stereo up to 10! About the time we got to Dazed And Confused, father walked in Shouted out " WTF is this Sh*t ???" Right then, I KNEW it was one of the greatest albums created!!! Since then I have worn out 3 albums, 2 8-tracks, 2 cassettes 3 CD's. Ipods, etc. And now I'm listening to it with you on YT media, 54 yrs later. Thanks man. Enjoy.

Just think - the singer, Robert Plant and drummer, John Bonham, were only 20 yrs old on this album. The recordingng for this album began on Sept 25th, 1968 and oddly, John Bonham passed away exactly 12 years later, on Sept 25th, 1980. It was horrible and immensely sad day. John Bonham could not be replaced - they called it quits.

The fact that you’re listening to the whole album opens up the door for me to say this is why us older folks say that today’s music sucks! The knowledge, the ambition, the musicianship, the lyrics that were created, and in most cases, the knowledge that our artist had in the studio and how to work the equipment was part of what created such great music. So, that being said, how can you come from my generation’s music and listen to the low quality effort that is put into today’s music. a lot of today’s artist not all, have no idea of how to put an entire song together never mind an entire album and have no clue as to what all that is in the studio is capable of doing or how to work it. We are spoiled, grateful, immensely proud of the music we grew up with, diehard fans will not except anything less and are relying on the younger generation to keep this great music alive. OK I put in my two cents in. Thanks for reacting to this entire album. Led Zeppelin still the best band ever of the 1970s!😎✌🏻

Agree,90% of modern music is shallow musicly.
Record companies just want good looking singers that can do a few dance moves, they don't care if you can't sing live, they'll use backing tracks and some pointless dancers to hide the lack of talent.

That was a great reaction!! you picked the best way to get the most out of the music, listening to the whole album as they intended it to be heard and then including a live version as well. The violin bow technique you saw on that film is how Page generated the sounds on Dazed and confused so you need to see a live version of that as well, MSG 1973 version if you can find it. This was widely regarded as one of the best first albums ever by any band, it wasn't their only one that year - unlimited range and talent. All four of them are legends. adding Whole lotta love just in case there wasn't enough greatness!! do go back and react to that properly you wouldn't want to miss it. Also the live performance of "i can't quit you baby" at the Royal Albert Hall 1970

Thank you young man. You are exactly whar the young people need today, so they can appreciate where their music came from while acknowledging the greatness of musicianship. A quality that is getting lost in the world of technology. Much respect to you!

I think I heard, it's a legend that it was told to the band it would be like a lead zeppelin. Obviously, an airship (zeppelin) of lead would be so heavy it would crash and burn because lead is so heavy. So I think someone told the band they would be like a lead zeppelin and they went with the name. I actually don't know that much about it for sure, but I believe I heard that was where the name came. I love the one IV ... That album has so much on it!

You’re pretty close. The story is that John Bonham and Keith Moon, the drummer from The Who were out together drinking. John Bonham told Keith Moon about this new band he was in. Moon told him it was going to go down like a lead balloon. John told the rest of the band. The Hindenburg was a Zeppellin, known more commonly as a blimp that burst in to flames while in the air and went down. It is on video. It’s is the greatest mechanical tragedy of it’s time. The band decided on the name Led Zeppelin.

The members of Led Zeppelin literally grew up in post war Britain of comparative privation and initially adopted the sound of the blues as an outpouring of this.

It was a good vet. One of his houses is called Tower house in London. Look it up. It’s worth maybe 50 or 70 million today. I bought it for 600,000 from some actor. By spending his own money to produce the first record, he was able to go to the record stores and say here’s this do you want it. Usually there’s a demo tape and then the band would beg for the studio to give money to properly record it. Here, it was backwards and that’s why the studio paid Led Zeppelin an insane amount of money upfront, and unbelievable royalties going forward. When you factor in that they’ve sold more than 300 million albums, plus when you consider the equivalent listening on UA-cam and other modalities, the numbers are extraordinary. Those of us who loved this band, for me starting in about 1980, yes irony abounds, we simply never heard anything like it. As you go on this journey, the variety is absolutely unparalleled, as is the expertise.

I had this album as a teenager and used to listen on the floor under my Grandmothers dining room table with my headphones on full blast. My God it took me away! Dazed and Confused was played over and over. I was good at setting that needle down right where I needed it. A friend just gave me an old turntable and receiver and I've got some old Bose speakers I'm getting ready to start rockin the house! My neighbors are gonna love me!

Yes man! Do the albums, of course, but their live recordings are so tasty! So much improv between all of them, scatting from Plant, riffs and psychedelia from Page, Bonzo absolutely crushing drums, and John Paul Jones holding everything down with his bass and organ. I'm here with ya man.

  • @adrianlee3497

This album was groundbreaking because no one was playing like this when Led Zeppelin came out. Zeppelin was Jimmy Page's baby all the way because he was a studio session musician plus being a member of another British group called The Yardbirds and they had just broken up when Page decided to form Led Zeppelin they were billed as "The New Yardbirds". There's so much to say about them that it's enough to fill books. The only comparable debut album to Led Zeppelin's first album was the first Van Halen album.
