That's because he has years upon years of experience and dedicated practice etc. He is very skilled, so of course, it's only natural for errors to stick out to him. Not to mention even with 2 people at the exact same skill level, a new perspective on a piece is super valuable and very hard to achieve just by yourself about your own work - since we spend hours creating them. Our brains adjust to the mistakes we made, but to somebody else, they may be obvious. It's one reason why professional art colleges and such, they will have students share their works with each other and receive feedback/critiques.
the way sam gives constructive criticism but with uplifting encouragement and lighthearted humor is so refreshing to see! i appreciate how he respects/preserves the original artist's style too.
Hello Sam, I don’t know if you will see this, but I would like to tell this. Your videos have inspired me so much as an artist, in a time where I was being very toxic to myself and other beginner and intermediate artists. Your art advice has changed my life, and it has given me the determination to go back and start again, to learn the fundamentals. That was something I would’ve never done a couple years ago, when I was still starting my art journey, because I wanted to jump directly into doing the things that were the most exciting for me like characters and complex designs. Now I have started from scratch (well, using some of the basic knowledge I had accumulated already) and I can already see the improvement. I am currently practicing perspective, from one to three vanishing points, and your art is what has kept me going. I hope I can get to your level one day. With a lot of love, Nikita.
Thank you Sam for everything. Your videos literally bring me so much joy into my hectic student life. I felt the need to aoppreciate and feel gratitude about it.
I love doing this to my old art! Old pieces that somehow took me like 4-8 hours around 2018 I would quickly paint over them and improve them massively within 10 minutes :D
The unexpected jump in the end scared the heck out of me Ok ik this has nothing to do with what I said above but it's something I've wanted to say for a while. Sam, thank you so much for your the videos you've made. Every time I watch one, I get motivated to go pick up my pen and start to draw. You've helped me so much with my art carrier and I've drawn some almost realistic pieces. Even though I'm very young I've drawn some things which most of adults can't draw. My parents are very supportive of me and all of this thanks to you. You are the best. Keep doing what you're doing ♥
I’m so glad I watch Sam’s videos because small details make huge improvements and I didn’t realized it until this video, I always learn something new in every video!
Not trying to bring back the kooleen incident or hate her, but I like how Sam doesn’t change the art style at all compared to kooleen who changes the whole entire drawing, I learned in under 12 minutes on how basic anatomy work from sam
I love these videos. They really show how small changes can make a huge difference and that's very encouraging when I'm feeling stuck and/or unmotivated with my art. Moment of appreciation for your victims' willingness to be sacrificed for our learning 🙏🏻 I'm gonna go draw now 😊
Sam I just wanted to say that I’ve recently found your channel and I’ve been binging so many of your videos and have found them so helpful and inspiring and you have really helped me improve on my digital art, so I appreciate you and thank you! Keep up your fantastic work💗
Thank you, sam, for this video today! My period just started, and the cramps have not been forgiving at all... but this video really made me smile and made my day better. And it also made me want to draw! Thank you. seriously 🙏💜💜
some things that help me with cramps is anise tea it really helps but any hot drink should also work! and of course a heating pad around the area of pain and lay down n get comfy with blankets n chocolate, take care of yourself and drink plenty of water!!
Man, I just loving watching your videos Sam. They are uplifting and I have learned a WHOLE LOT from you! From perspective to lighting, your videos have everything I ever wanted to know to improve in my art! Thanks a ton!
Sam, I don't know if you'll see this but just wanna tell u that your work is great and it inspired me to improve in my art too hope to be in your level one day Thanks:)
You made me draw something after almost 10 years of doing nothing regarding that matter. I've started with a pencil and a sketchbook, coloring is too hard for me at the moment. I've been recreating your drawings and wow, it ain't as easy as I thought! I'm gonna use some references soon and create my own character. Thank you, Sam!
construction is important! measure your proportions and make your drawing make sense. this will help you understand form also, which will help with lighting. this is a great video 11/10 i especially loved the part where sam assumes we have abs to look at!
You've got a fantastic way of breaking down art challenges! Can you share your favorite quick art improvement tip, and could you tell us about a memorable transformation you've achieved in less than five minutes?
Your video challenges the common belief about improving art taking time, and it's gave us a reminder that even in just 5 minutes, we can make meaningful strides in our creative journey. Really like the content, thank you!
I love how you've taken the time to provide constructive feedback and valuable tips to help artists improve their work in such a short amount of time. Kudos!
I'm impressed with how positive and encouraging you were throughout the video. You made it clear that you were there to help the artists improve their work, not to criticize them. This is a great way to build confidence and motivation, and it's clear that it's paying off.
It's evident that you have a great talent in artwork. I really enjoyed watching you giving the feedback while improving the image. I'll definitely share this video to my friends who are also doing creative arts & designs!
I love how by improving someone's art he doesn't turn the drawing into his own style, like I've seen some other artists do, but only fixes small mistakes :D
I've been waiting for Sam to post cause literally he makes my day so much better especially his recent intros, like I find them so funny cus he's always like 😨😱 even having some family problems, my stress and worries immediately disappear when I watch him, I love you sam so much *sobs*
We are blessed to have you teaching us in such a great way and the people who are able to get close to you, are the most fortunate, i hope they really appreciate your personality.
This really helped me see how little changes help improve art. im trying to get into an art school to improve my art but its horrible my mother says i need training but do have a natural talent at art.. which personally i dont see.. but I do enjoy drawing im not sure if it was because of how much force my mother put into making me draw or that i naturally started enjoying the process. I was going to draw yesterday but hated every sketched that i literally erased it so many times, that i just gave up because when i cant do something i get angry and that leads to crying and wanting to pull my hair out. so i stopped. but today this opened my eyes and im gonna try doing some studies of poses, anatomy and proportions ! thank you sam and lots of love! 💕😊
I really like that title of video is about improving and not “fixing” art. Also video is very helpful, you can understand where are mistakes and not just some subjective stuff
8:05 He's definitely got that first step right. Glancing back up at the video from my art again after hearing the next "victim"'s began, I thought the tree was his afro or short dreads being blown by the wind
his voice is sooo calming to me like i guess if he says something like "why did you even draw sht like this in the first place" i won't get mad, quite helpful when you're sensitive to criticism as an artist but wanna improve lol
the most impressive thing about this video is that he teaches a different art rule with every drawing he fixes, first is anatomy, then details, then shading, then lighting and complex lighting, then composition, then skull of enemy, and I don't think he he planned that
The buff hello kitty person posted tha dope drawing flexing that it was hekin great expecting that Sam would say somethin like "Oh boy that's a perfect man right there, i can't fix anything", but he went and also said, "But it can be BETTER" HSHAShassdv
Every time I watch a new Sam video, whether silly or not, it makes me wish I'd had a role model like him when I was learning art. I wouldn't have developed nearly as many bad habits or toxic viewpoints. Oh well - sometimes you can teach an old cat new tricks. :)
Hi sam, love ur art, you’re so talented Do you have any tips for posing ideas? Also i need help with my hands. I know the basic shapes and proportions for the most part, but whenever i draw the fingers they come out all wonkily. ❤😃
There are times like these when I wonder if I watch this for the art tips or for the sillies at the end 🤔🤣 No but seriously I made some terrific improvements since I started watching your videos, and this although I don't have much time for practice at all. Thanks for all the good tips!
this guy can take liquify to your art and make it better then anything you have made before in 5 min -_- upsetting but also goes to show how much understanding the basics makes a diffrence.
Awesome video, i like how you can quickly find funny mistakes in the drawings! I have a suggestion/idea⬇️. Can you make a video where you quickly critizice ig drawing posts? like where you spot the mistake of the drawing and you give "oral" advice, like quick tips, since the fixing part is only for Patreon members (understandable). You'd probably reach more audience and have an extra content for the channel!
Sam can fix my art better in 5 minutes than I can in 4hours.
Only for the moment ! 🤣 Keep practicing 💫✌ and of course watching Sams' Videos 👊
Yah right he makes it look very simple, but it is not

Lol I can't fix my art 😅
Most of these were really obvious, it's crazy what you'll notice when you level up your artist eye.
all of Sam’s intros are perfect ngl
That's what I said lol
Lol yes
i just watched the outro and its even more perfect 😂
@@squirrel83 I can't wait to get to that part!
@@squirrel83I just watched it. It's art✨️
working MAGIC with that liquify tool!!
:0
Yooo
I will certainly try that tool on my next out of proportion digital drawing/scanned line drawing.
I recently saw your channel and you are impressive. I also subscribed to your channel, keep up the good work
Am I the only one who thinks Sam's intros hilarious, but that the clips at the end are even better?
perhaps
no
hell yhhhhhhhhhh
It feels like child humor and that's what gets me
the way sam gives constructive criticism but with uplifting encouragement and lighthearted humor is so refreshing to see! i appreciate how he respects/preserves the original artist's style too.
Exactly

I'm an art baby and sam has been Soo helpful while I'm trying to learn digital art. Super inspiring. Sam if you're seeing this thank you so much
You got this!
I love doing this to my old art! Old pieces that somehow took me like 4-8 hours around 2018 I would quickly paint over them and improve them massively within 10 minutes :D
I like how Sam was just jumping behind his chair at the end 💀
The unexpected jump in the end scared the heck out of me

I don’t understand how Sam can be so calming and chaotic at the same time.
Ikr. He screams in smallcaps😂
I love that the art before in the thumbnail is just the same as the art after but smaller
not really, look at left bicep
he put the fixed way bigger, is just not easy to spot from a far
