frrrr it gives me SO MUCH motivation too cuz like when i see someone drawing i always have a habit of trying to figure out how they achieved it which then makes me go woowowwoowowowowowo i wanna do that too because it looks pretty idk my mindset is random don't judge lol
Love how he appreciates any kind or form of art, even valuating the art from before, giving them their own respect but knowing the long way their improvements have taken them It's so nice to see when someone appreciates your art even if it's not "good enough" for you, that inspires a lot! ✨
You probably won't see this, but I just wanna tell you how much I'm thankful to you for everything. You've been my main inspiration since last year when I decided to take art seriously. I have so many things to improve yet, and I'm working hard on them all thanks to your art advice and encouragement. You always make me feel more motivated when I'm scared to keep going. So, thank you very much ❤️
I always thought I would never be good enough at art to even try. In school I was surrounded by people better than me. I’m now at 24 bringing that passion back. I’m not great but I have improved so much even though it’s been only like 4 months. I’m proud of myself and excited to see how my art looks in a year, two year etc
Lily is my best friend, honestly so proud of her!! 💖🥺 She mentioned being in this video and the way I RUSHED to search and see it 😂😂 I know it would have made her day and others with their art so thank you!!
No but this genuinely inspired me. i've been hating my art so much and thinking I can't improve, but your channel and art tips as well as the transformation is motivating me to continue ! Thanks Sam:)
I've never been much into drawing, either traditionally or digitally, but i decided to try digital for the first time around November/December- so roughly around the time this vid was posted. I painted a portrait then, and i spent WAY too much time on it (especially considering that it didn't turn out great anyway)- and just yesterday, six months later, i painted ANOTHER portrait of the same person and compared the two. There's a considerable difference in quality, and i find it super encouraging. Moral of the story- practice DOES make progress, just be patient. (Also keep all your old art no matter how bad it is, don't draw unless you want to or you'll get burnout, and have confidence in yourself or I'll come after you).
i started when i was around 2 and a half years old, and for 7 whole years after i never improved, i started with some color theory and now im half decent, im going for a horror art-style and its been great. Sam really did help with proportions, sizes and how to make body parts which make my art so much better! thanks bub! im 11 now and doing great
After a traumatic final year of art school and an extremely difficult senior project, I have been in a mental art block since 2020. It's nice to see people showing dedication and love for their artwork.
I'm new to Sam's channel, and I am so glad I found his videos. Everything Sam talks about has helped me. I have been doing art for many years, but stopped improving somewhere along the way. Thank you so much for the videos, Sam. Love the videos and your chill voice. 😂
The one thing that stood out to me is that traditional art can be used in digital. I don’t see it yet but once it clicks my digital art will hopefully become as good as my traditional
I haven't been motivated to draw for the last few days but because of this video, I went and looked at some of my art from January, and I feel much better now.
One of my family’s traditions is to write down the things we did that year on a sheet of paper and put it in a little box for next year. I have always put a quick drawing on the back of mine and love seeing how much I’ve improved each year 😅.
when you upload while im binging your videos! Thank you so much for your art advice i only found you a couple months ago but i've learned so much for you and i appreciate everything you've done!
I'm making a risky move to quit the job I hate and do art for a living and this... this right here inspired me so much and is giving me such a clear understanding of the time frame that might take... Thank you so much for making this video u r amazing!
as a 40 years old father of two...I'm trying my best since the end of 2021. I feel my growth has been slower than I thought at the beginning but my spare time is so scarce that is more valuable than money for me. I draw every day, mostly when my kids are sleeping, but I've gone through the "what am I even doing here" moment a couple of time already and I took a couple of months of break each time. This video somehow gives me both the illusion I can make it and the delusion I am too slow to even compare my current works to the old ones
I can't even tell the differences between real art and ai nowadays, cause they are so similar, and a lot of company start using it too, also some lazy artist use Ai and then they edit the ai in photoshop to make it looks they own art, i've been putting alot of time to practice and spending money to learn art, my dream is making manga then get anime
Watching all these improvements is crazy, the improvement people have in a year is crazy. It’s great to look at old art too. Wow I gotta learn how to do this art thing like they did 🤩
encouraging to see peeps with such amazing progress! ( trying not to give up on myself. been drawing without references for years and I think now that was a big mistake)
I've been drawing on and off for 20 years. I even studied it as part of an design apprenticeship and fine arts B.A. -- honestly, when I see insane improvements over two years by people who started in 2020 and draw better than I am now, I kinda wanna kms.
why does it always look like we're interrupting Sam in the beginning of his videos like it looks like he's busy with something else before the vid starts HA!😂🤣
Sometimes its discouraging for me to see digital art because everything is so much more advanced and the colors are just blindingly beautiful, and I've only ever done traditional sketching art (I don't have any way to do digital art), and I always end up comparing my art to digital art when it sometimes might not just be a fair comparison. But I'm still in love with your art style and strive to improve in the things that aren't in my comfort zone. I'm trying, but its just hard :) Any advice?
I went (and graduated) to university for design and my first semester illustration teacher sent me into so many anxiety attacks that I haven't touched a sketchbook in nearly 6 years... Now I want to get back into it without so much pressure and to have more fun learning
I have a quote as my PC background that reminds me to keep pushing. The quote is "If you quit when you suck, you'll suck forever." I recently did a redraw of an artwork from 2022 and the difference is astonishing to me.
Yk watching art related stuff is bith frusturating and inspiring especially with this kinda video, cause it makes me wanna draw but at the same time i cant do that right now and with the sudden dissapierence of my sketchbook i cant even draw something quickly in a whim 😞
You know that this is beyond the tenth time so far I watch that "This could be you" Series whenever I feel confident in my skills only to get humbled and maybe cry a little over how bad my art is and not draw in a couple weeks then come back and the loop goes on over and over.. 😂 Seriously tho, no cap 😢
SAM!! Thank you so much for featuring my art in this video. (7:53) It made my whole friggin day 🥹 You’ve helped me improve so much over the years and I cannot thank you enough.
Im allready on my way. Been studing a lot of the areas were I felt less good out. Went back to the basics with pen and paper and applying the half-new things I learend. It's going forward.
I just had a thought about art style: it doesn't have to always be HOW you draw something. Allow me to elaborate, when drawing something you could be trying a cartoon art style and you try to draw characters but it never works out. It isn't because you suck at cartoon art it could be that drawing characters in a cartoon way isn't your style. You could draw a masterpiece of a cartoon landscape and draw a stick figure character! It's like dancing, you love to dance (subject) but some of the styles of dance (e.g. break dance, tango, waltz etc) don't fit you until you find what gives you passion to dance! Drawing is the subject and style is what you feel the passion of and feel comfortable with. I found this out when drawing people, I look at them and I'm like "...They look weird..." then I draw something like a fairy of my own design or a TV head or a demon or somebody who has a lot of things about them that aren't like normal people (e.g. colored hair, markings, etc) and I look at those and I'm like "Am I Michelangelo?" So when drawing if something sucks DON'T THINK YOU'RE BAD AT ART! The way you draw it OR the thing you've drawn might not be what you are comfortable with! Try drawing something that is the opposite of that or something similar just with your own sprinkle of personality and see the result! If it's still bad KEEP LOOKING there are HUNDREDS of things you could draw so don't stop looking for that thing that can fit the style you are going for.
dang i was doing art my whole life but rarely improved since in the past my goal was just to draw for fun, but just this past 2years i dedicated to actually arting inprovement, ofc if i compare my old art from like 2017 to mine now you can see a clear difference but i think there's a period of time where the improvement was pretty stagnant at least im seeing more improvement recently
I am genuinely overjoyed for whoever did the person underwater piece like it’s so amazing and San just called it mesmerizing 🥹you’ve made it my friend 👊🏽

No one can disagree how iconic Sam's every intro is
8:04 U can tell how much improved has happened just by noticing that the hands are hidden in the second drawing lmao
They’ve learned the art of running from your responsibilities
thank u so much sam i all most wanted to quit art before but watching ur videos has inspired me so much
Father you have returned with wven more art and you so amazing at it

Anyone else find great comfort in him being surprised by our presence in literally every video
i love sam hes so kind he really makes me wanna practice
I sat through this entire video with my jaw on the ground like DUDE! these are so good!
Very Inspirational before and afters!! Nothing feels better than seeing the fruits of labour, from constant journey to improvement !! 🤩
My art style: My fav PJO artists (Ver, frostbite studios, & Soia) + Years of figuring out what makes me excited to draw, and implementing that 💀
just to you know for digital artist, your art skills are also transferable to traditional art, so don't be scared if you want try it
"I'll be reall idk how I got better" is the most relatable thing I've heard all video 😂
why does it always look like we're interrupting Sam in the beginning of his videos like it looks like he's busy with something else before the vid starts HA!😂🤣
I literally got out of school feeling sad, looked down, saw that you posted, and chanted in the hallway
Watching this at 1:16AM with school tomorrow after drawing 2, 3+ hours illustrations and watching multiple ship edits, hits different
I don't know why, but that shirt literally made me chuckle. Its so dumb but i love it. Kinda want one of those now...
All the fundamentals apply, the medium doesn't really matter.
why do i love the intros so much. They always puts a smile on my face.😄
Your house design and decor is so relaxing to look at for some reason 😂
Honestly, this is what I needed. I had a quite hard time drawing but now I just wanna draw again. perfect
Sam is just a great inspiration.
I started really drawing traditional in 2011 and my improvement to now is literally insane. Started digital and color in 2020 and I’m decent now
I went (and graduated) to university for design and my first semester illustration teacher sent me into so many anxiety attacks that I haven't touched a sketchbook in nearly 6 years... Now I want to get back into it without so much pressure and to have more fun learning
Dang.. I love my art teacher but you are like 10x more motivation giving and better 😅
I've been having a bad week, and this video made my day. Thank you for posting! ❤
I have a quote as my PC background that reminds me to keep pushing. The quote is "If you quit when you suck, you'll suck forever." I recently did a redraw of an artwork from 2022 and the difference is astonishing to me.
Sam is just like my dad, i feel happy and confident when they said that they're proud of me
Bro gave us time to reflect 🧍♀️💀🙏
I love is T-shirt
Also ‘is that pigeon in a chokehold-‘
Me having a fever close to my veins popping out and him telling me that I look good
Isn't the Harry Potter drawing at 10:06 an AI drawing...? I feel like I've seen that before in AI art videos, but idk I could be mistaken, I guess
Sadly, It is. ;(
Yk watching art related stuff is bith frusturating and inspiring especially with this kinda video, cause it makes me wanna draw but at the same time i cant do that right now and with the sudden dissapierence of my sketchbook i cant even draw something quickly in a whim 😞
Really mind blowing improvements.
Also in my case you were like the biggest help once again thanks for this great content
I LOoOOve you Sam you have been such a big inspiration in my art journey ✨️ ❤
as someone who has been drawing ever since i could remember, my art is trash and i still don't know anatomy and perspective
Sam you never fail to deliver an educational, funny, helpful video. I am seriously in you debt for the skills i have learned from you ❤
A T-shirt that says T-shirt. Perfect for Sam! 😇
sams intros are like every bad sneaky npc that are trying to do sumthin
You know that this is beyond the tenth time so far I watch that "This could be you" Series whenever I feel confident in my skills only to get humbled and maybe cry a little over how bad my art is and not draw in a couple weeks then come back and the loop goes on over and over.. 😂
