Personent hodie
voces puerulae,
laudantes iucunde
qui nobis est natus,
summo Deo datus,
Et de virgineo ventre procreatus.
In mundo nascitur,
pannis involvitur
praesepi ponitur
stabulo brutorum,
rector supernorum.
Perdidit spolia princeps infernorum.
Magi tres venerunt,
parvulum inquirunt,
Bethlehem adeunt,
stellulam sequendo,
ipsum adorando,
Aurum, thus, et myrrham ei offerendo.
Omnes clericuli,
pariter pueri,
cantent ut angeli:
advenisti mundo,
laudes tibi fundo.
Ideo gloria in excelsis Deo
Translation
Let resound today
the voices of children,
joyfully praising
Him who ys born to us,
given by most high God,
and conceived in a virginal womb.
He was born into the world,
wrapped in swaddling clothes,
and laid in a manger
in a stable for animals,
the master of the heavens.
The prince of Hell has lost his spoils.
Three Magi came,
they were bearing gifts,
and sought the little one,
following a star,
to worship him,
and offer him gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Let all the junior clerics
and also the boys
syng like angels:
"You have come to the world,
I pour out praises to you.
Therefore, glory to God in the highest!"
Great arrangement of this ancient carol.
This happens every time. Months pass, I forget I’m subscribed here, and then something like this drops and I’m like “oh, right. I love these guys.”
When i was at school, there was this hymn (my fav) went something like "god is love ,his the care ,tending each everywhere, God is love, god is true, god is understanding, god is love love love... sounds just like this :-)
This is so beautiful :-)
We sung it in Cheam Common Junior school (yes I went to the same school as John Major) too: God is good, good, good!
Now I'm singing in the style of Depeche Mode: "Your own personent hoodie. Worn in black it looks good/bit like a snood". Merriment aside, this is excellent.
Enjoy The (monastic) Silence
That is what I was hoping for. Now, personal sad face.
Lou Costello In the Navy " How do you sleep in this snood?"
Just can't get enough (sorry couldn't help it) seriously though it's great video and love harmony amongst the singers
Wonderful. I've been a longtime fan of your melodious music and this piece is no exception.
Even better when you hear and see it live, the \procession Tour in Stoke Minster last week.
This is stunningly beautiful. Can't wait to buy the album!
Spellbindingly other worldly as always. Just beautiful. Can't wait to see you ethereal, beautiful creatures again in December in Bolton ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have followed The Baebes for a fair few years now; always love a new tune :-)
Sweet angel like voices❤
Thank you
Wonderful! Timeless! ❤
Mesmerizing❤

O magnum miraculum!
Must be a survival crafting game. See, they're gathering sticks!
❤❤❤
Thank you. May Jesus bless us.
This album is a great christmas present indeed! Its really good. And I love everything with a Hurdy Gurdy! This song is, as far as I can tell, from a Mass for Saint Nicholas from the late Middle Ages. But when Anonymous 4 sings it, its "Intonent Hodie". I wonder why you changed it?
There are two versions:

@@timmsw20 Thank you so much for the info and links! Happpy Christmas
This is beautiful, another version of On This Day Earth Shall Ring
Beautiful. Please though, check for ticks :)
Bardcore took rap songs and made them Mediaeval, while the Mediaeval Baebes take Mediaeval songs and make them into rap!
Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise
Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday
You got mud on your face, you big disgrace
Kicking your can all over the place, singin'
We will, we will rock you
We will, we will rock you
Buddy, you're a young man, hard man
Shouting in the street, gonna take on the world someday
You got blood on your face, you big disgrace
Waving your banner all over the place
We will, we will rock you, sing it!
We will, we will rock you
Buddy, you're an old man, poor man
Pleading with your eyes, gonna make you some peace someday
You got mud on your face, big disgrace
Somebody better put you back into your place
We will, we will rock you, sing it
We will, we will rock you, everybody
We will, we will rock you, hmm
We will, we will rock you
Alright
They said they call it "We will rock thee", and slap-slap-clap throughout when singing it live.
Except it's Latin, not Spanish. Please correct the language. It's one of my favourite Christmas carols.
Thank you for pointing out this error. I don't know why this happened. It is now corrected.
