Emergency was recorded with the current MSG line-up (sans Bodo Schopf. Simon Phillips did drums on it because he asked Schenker for a part on the new album), this song was made with former rainbow members Tony Carey and Bob Daisly, as well as Bobby Rondenelli. According to Michael this was done to give it an authentic rainbow aesthetic.
@@MinaMoon4664 It's too bad Cozy isn't with us anymore. I was just listening to The Michael Schenker Group, One Night At Budokan, and even though I saw those shows from those tours, I am STILL blown away by the musicianship displayed by the All Star Band that Michael had put together: Gary Barden's voice was fresh and he sounded AMAZING. As I said, Cozy was bangin away with small baseball bats for drumsticks, Paul Raymond had left UFO after Michael did and he was playing the same part as he did in UFO. And Chris Glenn had his Explorer Bass Git, and he was jammin his ass off too! They were HUGE in the early 80's,even headlining The Castle Donnington Festival in 1981 I believe it was. I've seen EVERY SINGLE TOUR that Michael did since I saw UFO open up for Foghat at The Aragon Ballroom in 1976. That's part of why I want to see him another 5-10 times and that will make it an even 100 times, seeing Schenker play LIVE!! In case you didn't already know, Michael is my favorite guitarist of all time!

@@chitownbluesy Bobby Rondinelli is on drums on this track, Bob Daisley on Bass and Tony Carey on Keys - all ex Rainbow musicians because the song's about Ronnie. Also on drums on the new album is Brian Tichy, as well as Simon Phillips and Bodo Schopf that you already mentioned.

Great that you had Kiske singing this instead than having Romero doing his Dio-clone thing. It sounds more legit.
Romero actually did sing this, but the owner of Atomic Fire heard the album when Schenker submitted it and said he thought Kiske (also signed to Atomic Fire) should sing it instead. Michael had never actually heard Kiske sing before the label president flew him in to do the new vocal track

Was just reading a Michael Group news article and came across this song “A king has gone” a tribute song to my favorite singer…..Ronnie James Dio! I’ve just recently discovered Michael Schenker and I now have my new favorite musician. He is just incredible and has been putting t albums with the Scorpions first with Lonesome Crow then 5-6 with UFO, then Scorpions “Lovedrive” then he started his own group MSG till now with probabably close to 30-40 albums with MSG. What a great collection. But to do a tribute to Dio is just truly special I’ve seen Dio twice and he will always be my favorite singer.
