Lyrics:
SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE A HELPLESS CHILD ALONE IN THE NIGHT SOMETIMES I FEEL SO FAR FROM THE LIGHT
I'M ALONE ON AN ENDLESS ROAD LOOKING FOR A SIGN THE CROSSROAD STRETCHES OUT AHEAD BUT I DON'T KNOW WHICH WAY IS MINE
SO I’M GONNA RUN FROM THE WORLD ‘CAUSE I DON’T OWE YOU SO DON’T BE AFRAID I WON’T GET TOO CLOSE TO YOU I’M JUST A LONER
OPEN YOUR ARMS I’VE BEEN SCARRED I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I’LL FOLLOW TO THE END
THE FUTURE IS A MYSTERY ONLY YOU CAN TRY BUT ALL I SEE IS RAIN BLACKING OUT THE SKY
SO I’M GONNA FOLLOW MY ROAD I’VE GOT NOTHING TO LOSE YEA MY PATH IS WRITTEN IN STONE THE STARS WILL ALIGHT FOR ME I KNOW THAT I’M GETTING CLOSER
OPEN YOUR ARMS I’VE BEEN SCARRED I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I’LL FOLLOW TO THE END
WHY I WONDER WHY TIME WAS ON MY SIDE
MY WELL IS RUNNING DRY
OPEN YOUR ARMS IVE BEEN SCARRED I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND
TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I’LL FOLLOW TO THE END
YEA I’M JUST A LONER
I’M TIRED OF HIDING MY SCARS I HOPE YOU HELP ME MEND
YEA YEA
TAKE ME TO HEART FROM THE START I WILL FOLLOW TO THE END
YEA YEA YEA YEA
Blues and heavy metal. Stratocaster and Les Paul. Kotzen and Smith. It struck me like lightning. Is the best piece of new music I've listen to in a long, long time.
I agree! So hard to find new music this awesome
My new fav song can't stop playing this ;)
Wouldn't call this heavy metal .
@@nemtall no definitely not! Hard Rock 🎸
With Adrian involved I knew it would be high quality. Kotzen is top notch as well.
Wow, 66 yrs old ,I never tire of a hidden treasure
65 here
Metal will never die, nor the blues, or rock n roll.. I'm a player, been playing for more than 40 years . Cut my teeth on maiden, sabbath, priest...now my sons, especially my oldest boy, ..raised him on sabbath....he's a fuckin shredder.. plays circles around me, and I'm not no ameture..Hendrix, iommi, Oliva, dimebag, , bothe the guys in maiden, bothe the guys in priest, I could go on and on...and on..I love rock nroll, blues metal, whatever flavor....rock n roll will live forever!!!!
I think I love you I'm 68 cut my teeth on them all I was raised in Vegas saw a Lotta greats!!!
You probably have a few scars to write such a powerful song about them. Thank you Gentlemen for the therapy session.
I'm 70 and still rocking and this is the best metal/blues record iv'e heard in a long time
You, sir, are an exceptional person
Agree
I’m 65 and right there with you !
I,m 59 and still Rocking to,these two are great and you're right.
I'm with you on that one, I'm 71!!! Love it!!
I can't stop hearing them. No bad songs! All beautiful and full of energy! Thank God I found these guys! New energy!!!!
Completamente d'accordo!
Richie Kotzen seems to be channeling Chris Cornell. Awesome songs from lifelong awesome players👍👍👍
Cornell mixed with Coverdale
Difference is that Ritchie is great live
Who's Cornell? 🤔
@@petran4309 The lead singer of Soundgarden
@@superdave7241 I see but I don't agree that RK is channeling anyone. RK and that person coincidentally happen to have the same voice and style of singing
37 years of listening to Maiden and I never knew Adrian Smith could belt out a tune like this. Well played, Mr. Smith, well played.
❤❤❤;EESTEVANSK.🤪🥰😇!!!
He's undercover.
Dude... Give ASAP a listen. It's the project Adrain left Maiden to do. It's a little heavy on the late eighties production, but he kills it on vocals. There's a Maiden B-side called Reach Out that's worth checking out. It even has Bruce Dickinson on background vocals.
@@user-bq2xc2fl6l Psycho Motel also had some very good songs.
👍👏🤟🇺🇦
I’m glad these guys are friends.
Indeed, excellent chemistry.
Me too mate!!
Me too!
Devil put them together bro 👹🤘🏻!!!
Another proof that you don't have to overcomplicate a song: just do everything perfectly. This is a perfect rock song.
The guitar solos and vocals speak for themselves. It's blues music kinda, blues roots
Boom
Mr Kotzen the new Chris Cornell one of the best voices i;ve heard in a long time
The perfect Rock song. Great voices, great guitarists!
Adrian has never been known as a singer guitarist. He should be.
Totally agree.
His band ASaP in the 90s wasn’t half bad.
Didn't he do vox on the "Wasted Years" B Side "Reach Out"?
lol yes he has, he started off in Urchin, in fact Maiden were really interested in his rounded skills, also ASAP was really good just not quite heavy enough for the Maiden fanbase it was marketed at, and he's done a bit of of iconic stuff with Maiden like 'Wasted Years' live chorus is a big fan fave, and he's done lead on a couple of B-sides and there's other really good bits and bobs he's fronted.
Try the ASAP stuff if you haven’t. I think 14 yr old me at the time was too hard on that stuff bc I was just mad he wasn’t in maiden anymore. I jam it regularly now.
MY LORD.... thank you to these incredibly talented human beings 🎸
Soooo kick-ass!!!
Wow, found this by accident today in 2023! Top work lads👌
Smith's tone is pure gold. Delightful!! GReat song!!
They both have great tone. Richie is unreal live. Dude is a monster playing with a monster in Smith as well
I already knew that Richie had a powerful voice, but I didn't realize how good Adrian was! Well done!
Both have similar and voice tune range
I concur completely. I am surprised that Smith's singing had not been known until now.
They are both amazing on their instrument and their singing. These guys are the real deal👍🏻
listen to the song "reach out" you can hear bruce dickinson sing backing vocals for adrian. who also wrote wasted years....
Es verdad. No sabía que Adrian cantase de esta manera y con Richie lo borda
Listening to this, reminds me that we still have good music in this world!
My new most favorite song.
Esto no demuestra nada.Esta buena la musica.Nada mas.
Music as it should be. Real musicians, real talent!!! Never knew Smith could sing like that. Fantastic!!!
Im so embarrest is that adrian smith from Maiden?
@@chrisk920 Yes it is. Very versatile musician indeed.
A hidden gem...need more of this on mainstream media
To hear the purity of Adrian's singing even after all these years (going back to the Urchin days!) is just incredible! Thank you both for this amazing collaboration!!!
For sure. I wish he did more backing vocals in maiden, but I also understand you got Bruce and wanting to showcase that haha
Yeah had no idea he was such a good singer
He also sang lead on 1989's Silver & Gold with ASAP.
The B-side Maiden released of "Reach Out" w/ writing credits from his A.S.A.P. partners has always been one of my favorite songs 🤘🏽
damn Richie shredd this track and Adrian singing so good Richie voice is like a Chris Cornell with a blues edge . Adrian is a perfect combination.
Man I hope these two make MANY albums together!!!!
Richie told in an interview that he sees more music comin' with his friend Adrian! Great news indeed!
So do I
Man and I hope these two guys (and all of their band) will hit the streets or better say: Some smaller locations. Outstanding!
Love that Octaver effect on Richie's strat, contrasted with the classic p90 LP tone.
Richie Kotzen is a musical genius. There, I said it.
This is good shit..blues and rock/hardrock 💪Can't be better 🔥🍻🤘🇦🇽
Fuckin A
just turned 52 and back to rockin out on my bass even a possible reunion for my band from Vancouver Canada called Mushroom Trail the album and singles came out in the early 90s album called My Medicine 1st single Pine Valley look it up on you tube or go to My channel Mushroom Myke on you tube ditto bye
Actually Kotzen wife suggested they do an album together...I love it!!
@@deborahguseman9927 first time i saw her was in the live video with Nicko McBrain, and i immediately thought: this lady is pure gold, for the gig, and for a guy like Ritchie Kotzen. I'm just super happy for him, and for her.
Man, the winery dogs... then this? absolutely killer
@blackcamelify don’t forget the stint in Mr. Big.
This man is absolutely incredible
Thank you so much for giving the rock world a smile for 2021.
Amen!!
🤘🙏🤘
We sure need it!!!
Best release of 2021. Allman Brothers meets Soundgarden. The whole album is blistering butter.
Anything but the foo fighters!
THE ENTIRE ALBUM IS BRILLIANT. Buy it folks. Crank it up.
This is what talent sounds like.
We are watching Mr. Smith in a new dimension as a rock legend, almost remember me to Bruce Springsteen. And mr. Kotzen is simply amazing.
Springsteen wishes he sounded this good!
Two true beasts! Fortunately, we're still alive in 2021, feb. to listen and watch to this. Cheers, from Brazil.
This is actually Smith going back to his roots
Everything about every guitar track in this song is just stellar: Tone, Technique, Phrasing, Effects, Timing, EVERYTHING!
Wow man you are so right -All of this song is what you said -I like your ears man 🎸🎸
I couldn’t have said it better myself!
Yess everything
Agreed!
Yep...
This is fantastic work! Music industry is broken down if these guys are not in the mainstream and we all have to dig for their music. I wish someone would start recognizing this phenomenal talent.
Great singers, songwriters, and Guitarists!!!😎
Amen
I knew Ritchie could sing but wow Adrian sounds great!
Check Adrian Smith old solo projects like A.S.A.P - Silver and gold, and others.
Jesus. This is outstanding. Never expected those two in a collaboration, much less that Adrian could even sing. Sounds a lot like Glenn Hughes.
Feel the same. And who knew back then in the early Shrapnel days that Richie would be doing stuff like this all those years later (we are all the better for it!) Fantastic, gritty stuff.
Yes! I been listening to Dead Daisies just before this, and I think... It's just me, or Adrian sings a lot like Glenn? Bah, sure its me.
Yeah I got the Hughes vibe immediately
listen to Iron Maiden - REACH OUT (1988), Adrian have been singing for a lot of years
Adrian’s been singing since the early days. That’s early/mid 70’s (first Evil Ways, with Dave Murray) with a certain band called Urchin, who funnily enough, used to open for Maiden.
I never realized what a great singer Adrian is.
Finally.. Blues and Metal!
Exceptional!!
They're both ageless :) We're lucky. The golden years are still here.
Adrian's tone sounds absolutely KILLER on this track! That goldtop is a thing of beauty! And his vocals are simply stunning! We need more of Adrian's singing! :)
UP!
I agree. It's really great to hear the different base of sound of the Strat and the Les Paul come through. Both sound really nice on their own and even better both together close to the end of the track.
I knew Adrian was a good singer going all the way back to the '80s, but I didn't realize he had THIS gear in him. This is just amazing.
@@keefriff99 if you haven't checked it out already, go listen to the Silver and Gold record. It's a shame they took it out of streaming services recently. He's the lead singer on all the tracks: ua-cam.com/video/SGqbblGdRHU/v-deo.html
@@Pyuras
Being a big Maiden fan, I've long known about Adrian's A.S.A.P. side project, but just never got around to listening to it. Loving what I hear so far...killer! Thanks for the link.
It's always a pleasure to hear Adrian sing. He's got a very underrated voice.
He´s very similar to Chris Cornell.
Seek out "Reach Out" by Iron Maiden. It's a "B Side" that he sang lead on......fantastic song, and great vocal!
@@benedictdonald4338 Did that with that big boxed set in the early 90s.
Adrian released a solo album with his band Adrian Smith and project back when he left maiden late 80s album was called silver and gold was excellent
@@johnmatthewdoyle9563 Indeed, the band was called ASAP (Adrian Smith and Project). I have the CD.
Finally some good music on youtube
So are you saying all the metal that's on UA-cam is shit...?
Notification set for best rock collaboration ever !!!! Rock N Roll
Hughes Turner Project, Hughes Iommi Sessions, etc. There´re great collaborations in history but without a doubt this one is magnificent. Long live!
Hats off to you guys....please don't stop....64 year old rock and roll vet....
Rock on 🤘🤗
Extraordinary!!!!!. Amazing return to 70´s. Great singers and guitarist. Superb surprise!!!!!!!!
The thumbs down are a real joke. Happy that rock isn’t dead. So great ...........
Correct!
Thumbs down make me laugh. Always from ppl that don't play anything if you've noticed ... Ridiculous
Thumbs up from germany 👍👍 . Sounds much heavier like the A.S.A.P. stuff.
Kotzen in particular is incredible. He's an awesome player, and his voice is stellar. Adrian Smith is excellent too...
Richie Kotzen is the greatest rock musician we have right now. His collection of songs is beyond compare. His competition has to be the artists from the past - the Eric Claptons, Aerosmith, and Rolling Stones. Nobody can win against those guys of course since their positions are cemented forever but there's nobody making timeless unforgettable music anymore besides Richie so I'm stuck comparing him to the greatest of all time but you know what = he holds his own and that's an incredible feat and nobody else will do it besides Richie. A true unknown superstar.
He could do an all piano album that would blow minds if not ignored. Indeed.
whats going on real rock ? Its about friggin time!!!
Blimey!..This stuff is getting better and better!...Adrian´s vocals it's just stunning!
Knew he had a decent voice, but this is definitely his best vocal performance in my opinion.
Can't wait for this album, his best collaboration since he put psycho motel together.
@@waynesaville1934 need a psycho motel rerelease
@@davidoriordan1393 it's great how both albums were 2 different types of rock 1st was a bit led zep style although heavier and the second was grunge rock both vocalists were great and Adrian what a song writer, wrote some of maidens best tracks too
Got a fantastic Black Country Communion vibe from this. Just brilliant
im a grown ass man. and crying. thats how good this is.
Thank You Guys !! Today is my birthday and here is such a gift! ! Thanks !!
Happy birthday!
Congrats Bro !!!!
Happy birthday! 🎉🔝
Not gonna lie I've been obsessed with this song and have listened to it every day since I first checked it out.
Ditto. Cannot...stop...
Same here
Found this by accident. Great vocals, great guitars and feel. Love it!
if anyone can keep rock alive, it's these 2
wow this is what I call new music, but man Kotzen sounds like Chris Cornell big time. Love it
And Adrian has kind of a Bonamassa thing going
Sounds like soul not Joe banansa
Chris is a great singer but not hearing him hear
He reminds me of Glenn Hughes at times too.
Grande pezzo musicale! La sua voce ricorda il mitico Chris Cornell👍❤️👍👍
Love Adrian's bluesy playing and singing. Masterpiece!!!
Classy blues like Joe Bonamassa is always welcome.
Holy Crap! They totally compliment each other and blend together beautifully. Richie is amazing as always, but Adrian is the hidden gem here - who knew he had such a good voice! #Blown away!
I did!!¡!;🤘🏽💯🤘🏽💯
This is absolutely phenomenal
Adrian Smith is the most underrated singer, songwriter and guitarist in the world,he can do the lot!!A very peaceful and quiet manbut one of the greatest of all time!
Wow, just wow. Hits the heart-strings.
Парни и поют сами, да ещё как поют ! Великолепно.
Mr. Smith hid his vocal talent from us. It was an amazing surprise.
You need to hear his song he sung on when the did Somewhere in Time album. The song is call Reach Out. That song is amazing.
@@davidsoesbee6402 or the Psycho Motel albums...
ASAP. Silver and gold. Adrian smith and project. Great album
"Open your arms I've been scarred I hope you help me mend" ...that's a heavyweight line, gentlemen. 🙏 Powerful enough to hit me on first listen. 🙏
Adrian and Ritchie are the greatest combination since peanut butter and jelly.....Full stop!!;!! If you don't agree you don't know rock and roll!!!! FULL STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed...commer...top band...full stop.
Excellent work guys.
Adrian should make an album with sounds of Somewhere in time.
By chance have you heard his Asap project?
@@mrselizabeth6524 Yes, I have. I should give more time for that. I am not that blues oriented
. More into heavy metal. But I like Adrian Smith and John Norum of Europe. Norum is great.
Paul Rogers feeling! So glad to hear one more amazing song!
No surprise! Paul is one of Adrian's fav singers.
Fully agree
Verdade, lembrou o Bad Company
O. M. G...... Adrian..... All these years..... I had no idea that voice..... We needed this. Holy shit.
So true 🤘
0:52 best les paul sound ever
Richie Kotzens voice is sounding pretty Chris Cornell like to my old ears, doesn't get better than that.
Indeed!
I agree what a voice they both have
I have to disagree mate, i mean his voice tone is similar to the late Cornell albums, but the singing is completely different, Richie more soulful, bluesly voice, R&B Funk influences, nothing to do with Cornell singing.
I'm amazed at how well their voices, style and guitar playing mesh! So good!
I'm okay with scars, it's the open wounds that require healing are the tough ones!
Why am I just hearing about this now? I’ve admired Adrian’s playing a long time with Maiden, who knew he had a great voice as well? And Ritchie, forget it; everything he does is amazing.
Richie Kotzen is always with full of surprises ... amazing collaboration
reflection of true blues Rock ...
Smith and Kotzen, both great musicians. Smith was the reason I originally came to this project but I have to say Kotzen is totally awesome.
You may check 50 for 50 he is a great composer
Yep. He’s so underrated. His solo stuff and The Winery Dogs are amazing!
Ascolto questo brano spessissimo!! Ogni volta una grandissima emozione! Siete fantastici! ❤
These two work very well together.
🎉🎉
Richies' vocals sound the best I've ever heard from him. Music is great.
Like Chris cornell😉
@@ukaszzurawski3547 I think there was some kind of petition or something to get Richie to join Soundgarden after Chris Cornell's death. I could totally see him being a perfect fit.
Agreed. His work for Iron Maiden is superb and important, but a true artist is always growing, especially in expression.
Music is a journey, never a destination . . . 😎
sound and singing is so great dh solo from the guitar
Totally agree he sounds at his best .. great blending between Richie and Adrian
Awesome awesome awesome! As a Maiden fan, this is a real treat. And man, Kotzen sounds like Chris Cornell…fantastic!
Old skool vibes never die !!
Soulful blues licks, I'd rather hear this than shredding.
I can't help but hear SRVs tone in Smith's guitar. Outstanding!
Everything Adrian touches, ops plays turn to gold. My Precious guitar hero.
Silver and Gold
Stunning piece of new music and film art in an age where there’s oceans of crap from untalented pop and other artists. this should be a Grammy winner
These guys are too good for the Grammys.
Love this track - amazing music ❤
Best Video, best guitar, best voice.... awesome. Iove it because I'm feeling better after a long hard day.
Hard Blues. Awesome!!!!
Adrian's voice sounds amazing, I have heard him singing Reach Out (a cover Maiden did) and of course A.S.A.P., but his vocal performance here is outstanding.
Fuckin....classic!!!!!!
Reach Out was Adrian's song from Urchin
amazing... God willing that this union will serve to produce many more albums, this union is fantastic
Wenn es mir zum Kotzen ist, dann höre ich Kotzen - Gitarrenrock vom Feinsten! Es besteht noch Hoffnung, so lange es solche handgemachte Musik, solche Künstler gibt und immer wieder welche nachwachsen!
The whole album is a masterpiece
This is EXACTLY what it sounds like when two dudes that know what they're doing get together...the whole album is just perfect
Rock is not dead!!!! Believe me!!!!!
I’ve always liked what almighty said about ; Hold fast to your broken heart because there’s more to come! It is comforting but we’re still alive to remember the spear but if you just let go till we are finally angels that do not have no pain ever never ever at all!,,
The ultimate hard rock colaboration!
what a great tune
It'd be wonderful, if people would start listening to 'real music' again. Where artists play 'real guitars" and actually sing 'real songs' that aren't generated on a computer!!
Keep rockin" peeps!! Love it
Damn good 66 years old still rocking by god😊
Damn, these boys know how it goes.
