I like the thought of this and you did a good job. The only criticism I can give is that so many bands were left on the cutting room floor that could have added to "bridging" of certain changing aesthetics and regional variations over the years. Bands like: Bleed, You & I, Merel, Native Nod, Frail, Evergreen, Don Martin Three, Antioch Arrow, etc. So glad you left off some of the more melodic stuff though, that was awesome.
Good band recommendations, but I've yet to listen to You & I and Merel. I definitely will, though. Happily. I've never heard of the other bands until now, with the exception of Antioch Arrow. While Antioch Arrow and Heroin are, of course, very different in style, I thought I'd include Heroin, since I had to include one, since both were early screamo acts.
You can just look them up. In the description, I list all the names of the bands in the order which they appear. Google any one of them, and you'll immediately find a place to listen to all their songs.
1. The first emo band is Rites... squirrel bait is not emo at all. 2. Why include Husker Du, Siege, and SB but not Minor Threat? Minor Threat is up there as one of the most important bands to forming emo, not the other ones. 3. Its EMOCORE, post-hardcore wasn't a thing until Fugazi 4. Dag Nasty isn't emo, they used to make fun of emos. 5. Moss Icon IS post-hardcore 6. Why confuse the timeline? IIRC Little League didn't come out until 1993. A lot of time was spent before they recorded anything. 7. Hxrx!n is first wave. 8. A lot of those "second wave" bands are first wave too, especially Indian Summer 9. Where's SDRE? They were literally known as emocore since Diary was released. 10. 3rd wave wasn't until the 2000's at least. 11. La Dispute isn't emo. 12. Isn't Portrayal of Guilt heavy metal or something?
@@thrashketchum9078 MT is more influential to emo than SB. I'm saying why include one and not the other? If its not gonna make sense at least have some backing.
Haven't listened to this type of shit since I was a teenager and I'm in my late 30s now. Most of it is garbage to be honest... Only Honeywell, Elements of Need, Uranus, Portraits of Past, Envy and a few others still hold up for me.
Do you, then, consider Indian Summer as one and the same with that senseless generalization of an entire musical style? If that is truly what ticks your boxes why not write-off music as a whole and become the ignoble sod you were always meant to with a gradual descent into bitterness for what once was?

also still life and clikatat ikatowi
@@honeycore7497 Sleeping Body and John Henry West are (from what I remember), the first two "screamo" bands. Also Merel is hardcore punk, not emo.
Looks like there was an error for the Orchid section. It showed a messed up page99 on mine
still love it!!
Can you record history about metallic hardcore (metalcore)?
metallic hardcore is gay
Te amo
mi niña bonita mi dulce princesa
Me siento en las nubes cuando tu me besas.

mcr said emo was trash, and there you have them
How is squirrel bait not considered emo to you yet minor threat is?

I wouldn’t call portrayal of guilt an emoviolence band, but rather a blackened screamo with emoviolence influence
Así es
