Not having any digital display would be a zonk. Love the shifter; I despise buttons or rotary shifters!

Need that 2023 model review..I'd just ordered one just from this video & test drive, now we play the waiting game. Joe, I love your reviews and enthusiasm 😀.
The tan and black interior with blue exterior goes surprisingly well together. Makes it look more premium. Absolutely lovely car, but dealers are gouging on them so bad right now. I shopped it - its hopeless in my area.
Like Joe said you need to drive one!! I test drove both, and the K5 is faster, and you get more bang for your buck! Not knocking Honda they've been the gold standard for years!
Calipers should be all red with black GT lettering. Needs the digital dash with the turn signal cams. Needs to be awd. Then move the Stinger more upscale.
Digital gauges, ambient lighting, wireless android auto(and full screen fix) and carplay, myb the rotary shifter for non gt, is whats missing. It's getting close to the perfect car, hopefully 2023. Love the new tan leather option.

From owning 2 accords I can say the accord is really good with the 2.0T and 10 speed the driving dynamics is extremely good for its class but the competition has far better tech and interior quality
Oh really is interior quality not great on an Accord? That shocks me. It’s sad that the tech isn’t that great either. You would think a huge company like Honda would be a leader in tech.
It’s absolutely stunning. Sleek design and beautiful color, I know we find ourselves saying all that a lot but some of these companies like Ford, GM and Kia just know how to deliver.
Kia and Hyundai are going crazy but the only thing is that everyone’s taking notice and buying all the cars lol so now the cars have gone up in price by a lot due to the markups and I don’t blame them. The K5 and sonata, or forte and Elantra from Kia and Hyundai are definitely the best cars in their respected category’s. If you can get your hands on one and have the money you can’t go wrong with any of those cars imo.

Joe, I have to say I love your reviews. Your wife Lori the queen videographer makes all your reviews and you look good. I was contemplating on trying to hold out for a 23 Sportage. But after looking at some of your earlier reviews of the K5 I rethought my need for an SUV at this point in my life (retired 🙏🏽) and chose the sedan. I was able to procure the exact same color combination as your buddy Rob, sapphire blue & chestnut. It is an awesome vehicle and I had to do some major searching in order to find one. Needless to say I've only had it for 5days and haven't gotten to the point to "smoke em if you got em" (I'll leave that up to you at the cost of tire) LOL! However I did have plenty of time for "on throttle"!! After all I had to drive it back from MD were I picked it up from back to my home state of NJ. Everything you said I would agree with except I don't think the interior trim is made to be faux wood as it appears to be more faux brushed metal. As far as the piano black, yes there is a lot of it (I decided to keep a microfiber cloth in the glove box when it gets to be too much with the fingerprints. I can't confirm the twizzler and twinkie storage space, because I can't say that they'll be a whole lot of snacking in that beautiful interior. Keep up the outstanding work you and Lori do, you keep it real and speak to the consumer. On side note GT's were very hard to find and be prepared for the markup. Thanks for the knowledge you give to people so they can make an informed decision 👍🏽
I bought a Kia K5 GT-Line in wolf grey and oml am I happy! I tinted the windows too (kindof wish they included that). Even with that little four banger, the turbo in sport mode is awesome. I really did not need a sports car but I wanted a bit more power which satisfies. OH and BTW yes they were backordered. I bought a used one off the lot with 5K miles because mine was off by a month or so (or more) and it did not have the premium package (and my old 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe I need to babysit so really I could not wait much longer). Man, they charged 5K above a new car sticker. Still...I am happy with the purchase (and No they did not negotiate). And funny it even beat a BMW that wanted to race. On Throttle lol. As always, thanks for the review!
Being its 2022 and with the chip shortage in full effect, I see no problem with analog gauges. I prefer them in the long run anway. One less screen to worry about going out prematurely. Kinda poopy they didn't put any aluminum bits on the pedals and dead pedal, but you can always get that aftermarket, as well as door sill plate later down the line. Probably cheaper and better than factory anyway. Thanks for the review!
I wish the GT had all wheel drive. You can only get that in the lower gt line model. If this was a rear drive car I'd get it but its front. Huge mistake to have their GT car fwd only, especially with such a great engine powering it.

I was sold on digital in the beginnings, but since driving both fully digital and a mixture with analog and center digital I am actually preferring the hybrid display or at the very least don't mind it at all. Not having any digital display would be a zonk. Love the shifter; I despise buttons or rotary shifters!
I love the chestnut color seats. The missing tech and aluminum pedals in the foot-box are not deal-breakers for me.
Stunning car, I just test drove a K5 GT last week and I'm honestly considering buying it and selling my current '17 Lexus RC 350 F
If the RC is AWD I would wait after winter. But if you don't need AWD then you should get the kia.
Are you for real? Keep the lexus
I really think you should.
I wished they made this into a all wheel drive like the gt line 1.6 bc the awd would make this k5 100% better then it already is!
This is the brother car of the Hyundai Sonata N Line (but unlike the K5 GT, the Sonata N Line is sold in Australia).
Unfortunately we don’t get neither in Europe.
You are so very right about that!
As much as I like the styling of Kia the solid dependability and performance of Honda I’d choose accord but that 5k is a thing of beauty
U owe me 5k usd
100k warranty and way more performance than the accord 🤔
@@Ecuador006 k5 lol I owe you nada
In wolf grey, it’s a beauty, this blue is also beautiful.
Thank you Joe for another great review
You are so very welcome!
My 22 K5 GT looks just like this one. I love it so far!
I've seriously considered getting one of these. I currently drive a 2020 Accord EX-L 1.5.
Get a touring 2.0
@@happychildeod8307 pass. I like the gas mileage the 1.5 gets. I like the styling of the k5 much better than the Accord
@@KingTriton1837 your opinion.
@@happychildeod8307 yes. I am aware. Thank you.
Raiti's rides! One of the first to always do it. I remember watching the 2021 k5gt a year ago. Good review 👍👏
Need that 2023 model review..I'd just ordered one just from this video & test drive, now we play the waiting game. Joe, I love your reviews and enthusiasm 😀.
Crazy how much a different badge can make a car look better
The tan and black interior with blue exterior goes surprisingly well together. Makes it look more premium. Absolutely lovely car, but dealers are gouging on them so bad right now. I shopped it - its hopeless in my area.
This K5 literally blows me away, am loving Hyundai's/Kia's products so far.
Tell me about it Brian
@@RaitisRides Well one thing, they don't use CVTs in their hybrids, another thing, they make really good cars, and their reliability is spot on.
@@brianlee9233 I really like that fact!
@@RaitisRides Me too.
What a great car! Don’t see it anywhere near the 2.0 accord though, the accord is a pretty great car, the way it pulls is shocking!
You need to drive one then we can talk!
@@RaitisRides for sure will and I’ll get back to you, waiting for you to drive the 2022 2.0 accord for the comparison
Like Joe said you need to drive one!! I test drove both, and the K5 is faster, and you get more bang for your buck! Not knocking Honda they've been the gold standard for years!
Kia definitely bring the style and technology. Hopefully they offer a GT AWD version in the future.
they will, when they kill the stinger
They do have one, it’s called the Kia K5 gt line AWD
They do offer it’s the the Gt Line AWD
@@guap_princess the gt line awd doesnt have the 290hp engine
@@tresdan that’s true, it’s awd without all the horse power
Nissan has to get rid of the cvt on the Maxima so it can compete with this. And Update the interior too.
Maxima compete against kia cadenza which I don't think they make anymore
Calipers should be all red with black GT lettering. Needs the digital dash with the turn signal cams. Needs to be awd. Then move the Stinger more upscale.
Nice suggestions!
Kia is really bringing some style Joe! Love the color. Great review!!
I honestly love both Accord and K5. The sonata on the other hand is nice as well.
Hate the catfish shaped front end.
I got my Kia K5 2022 GT Line AWD last month and I LOVE IT! It's ceramic coated and tinted, I get looks everywhere I go
Thanks to your review btw
Which color you got?
Only if they had a heads up display and digital gauge cluster
I like the way that you think!
Digital gauges, ambient lighting, wireless android auto(and full screen fix) and carplay, myb the rotary shifter for non gt, is whats missing. It's getting close to the perfect car, hopefully 2023. Love the new tan leather option.
I have a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T Touring with a Pheaeable Stage 3 tune, but lort hath mercy, the Kia K5 is just so beautiful and quick 😭😭, originally wanted to buy the K5 GT but couldn't find one anywhere.
Also thank you Rati and Lori for the awesome review!! I'm only 45 min away from this dealership 😭.
Kia is on fire! I love the analogue gauges-no zonk.
Love the design but without proper tires, its a burnout, wheel hoping machine. Needs awd like yesterday! Great review as always.
I wish they made them with AWD... lol but I love my GT Line, still this car definitely has great power along with great fuel economy!
Kia does make these with AWD… in the LXS and GT Line trim levels. I own a ‘21 GT Line AWD Wolf Grey with the red interior.
I know... I have the GT Line AWD, I wanted the GT but but need the AWD
I have Wolf grey black interior
My 21 has the folding mirror button, the digital display, the metal pedals, the HUD, and the heated windshield. Zonk city usa.
I love my 21 K5 EX. Don't miss a HUD, digital dash, and PLEASE don't go push button or rotary trans selector. I want to hold my shifter!
This is exactly how I’d get the K5 GT in this Sapphire Blue exterior with this Chestnut Brown interior & the GT1 Package, with some additional accessories. I love the exterior & interior color! I also wish they offered the red from the GT-Line on the GT trim. That would also be sexy especially with this Sapphire Blue & even the Wolf Gray exterior color on the GT trim
Go with orange bro 🍊
What you don't like passion red? That's the color I got on my new 2022 K5 GT1, it's pretty catchy!
Are you talking Red interior??
I had a 2018 and 2020 Stinger rear wheel and AWD I loved both of them I recently pick up the 2022 K5 GT1 in Wolf Gray although its not faster then the Stinger but its much more fun to drive. by the cool reviews You, Redlines Reviews and Asian Petrolhead are very entertaining thank you.
Awesome video & the Kia k.5 looks tight man this is the kind of car a want someday, I really like what I heard about it!🙂👍
From owning 2 accords I can say the accord is really good with the 2.0T and 10 speed the driving dynamics is extremely good for its class but the competition has far better tech and interior quality
Oh really is interior quality not great on an Accord? That shocks me. It’s sad that the tech isn’t that great either. You would think a huge company like Honda would be a leader in tech.
@@2004cyrus interior is one of my most hated part of my accord it’s terrible rattles like crazy ahd it’s just not quiet
Have a 21 Accord 2.0T sport and one of the best cars I have driven and owned. Didn’t like how the k5 felt inside but beautiful car.
@@RAMONEAuto upgrade to a touring 2.0
Hey Raiti, when's the Mk8 Golf R Review coming out?
I love my 2022 Kia K5 GT 🙌🏽
It’s absolutely stunning. Sleek design and beautiful color, I know we find ourselves saying all that a lot but some of these companies like Ford, GM and Kia just know how to deliver.
They knocked this one out of the park!
@@RaitisRides they really did.
Turn signal and DRL is made to look like a heartbeat on an EKG.
Would definitely consider this one on the list of midsize sedans
Kia and Hyundai are going crazy but the only thing is that everyone’s taking notice and buying all the cars lol so now the cars have gone up in price by a lot due to the markups and I don’t blame them. The K5 and sonata, or forte and Elantra from Kia and Hyundai are definitely the best cars in their respected category’s. If you can get your hands on one and have the money you can’t go wrong with any of those cars imo.
Not bad Joe Cool. That blue and chestnut combo is the way to go. 🏁
For it being the GT and not the GT line, why didn’t they do All LED rear. They still have a incandescent turn signal
I just got a K5 GT from this same dealership! You’re right. They were very hard to find.
I love it my boy Joe and Lori and keep up the work and I love the video lot real true more real true 👍 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
This K5 is crazy, tbh I never considered a Korean car until now.. I hope Mazda brings back the vroom vroom 6 back!
Heard about the DCT failing after low mileage on this model.
You have?
from a troll online?
Sat in one at the auto show - was very impressed with style inside and outside and features for the money
Great video @Raiti's Rides... I raced a K5 GT with my FK8, i walked him but was still impressed with it's performance.... I think it's more of a TRD Camry fighter...
Robert may want to have a word with you after he sees your test ride 😂. I wish I had just gone ahead with the factory order 6 months ago. At least the GT’s in Passion Red w/ the GT1 are finally heading west. I’ve been holding out for the GT since the fall of 2020, and I’ve been a Raiti fan since you reviewed the 2021 a long time ago! Keep up the good work 😎
I am a fan of this car Joe good review 😄
what a sleeper! a lot nicer and faster than i would have thought. love the color combo too. but joe, immma gonna have to zonk ya for forgetting to show us that big glorious panaramic sunroof! 👀
Hey Joe.... does the K5 GT have Ambient lighting? That would make it perfect.and maybe a digital dash.....
Yes
Thank goodness...I'm all in..
@@anthonyhardison3398 please dont, get the tlx instead
Why.. Hot curry??
Love that rear end……and rear glass. 👍
Same here!
Thanks Raiti Kids! As the owner of the 17 Optima Sxl it had even more luxury (but not the power) of this spec. surround cams check, trunk strut cover check, easy shifter check, auto cruise with stop and go check, nappa hides, heated rear seats...and so much more. Were those chestnut seats leather or simulated? Did look good! Easy to like the clean A pillar/mirror vision. Keep doing exactly what you do! great time always!
We get the digital dash and alloy pedals but don't get the 360 camera in Canada.
Just got my k5 ex 3 days ago tried the accord on a test drive an the Kia was my choice love the car
LOL I learned I could be a Cartagrapher with the infotainment screen. Nice!
I have literally not once seen a GT K5 on the streets and it’s been out for like over a year omg
they’re not in high demand!
@@b1bo840 there are a shit ton of GT lines though everywhere!!!
@@Smileydudekxy gt line is 5k cheaper, that goes for any brand. my 2.0 accord sport don’t sell nearly as much as the 1.5 which is 4K cheaper. mid-tier models are in the sweet spot between base and top line.
JOE RAITI IS THE NEW KING OF CAR REVIEWS
It really needs it!
Rear wheel drive is an extreme rarity these days. Don’t see that changing anytime
I'm in Texas and I've been waiting since last year for any dealership to have these in stock. Still waiting.
Love texas BBQ
Wow!!!!!!! I'm Totally Love The Paint Job On This Sedan Through. But Also This Is Definitely A Nice Vehicle As Well. Also This Is My Vehicle I Would Definitely Drive After I Done The Driver's Test On 2/25/2022 As My Very First Car. But Great Review Joe.
I wish you the best of luck! You can do it!
I have the 2013 Kia Optima (great car) and always wondered why I don't see any of K5s on the road. I live in Toronto, Canada.
Great deal with the K5 GT, but good luck finding one. I’ve only seen two out here in Riverview near Tampa, and one of them was a test sled with Michigan plates.
