Like I always say Joe...
The V6 is nice in the Camry... But Kia NAILED it. Great MPG, and great performance with the K5.
This is an awesome value for $36k. Looks great, 290HP, great MPG. Nice job, Kia and thanks for the review Joe!
For the price, looks, tech, gas mileage, and the avl for power and speed when needed or for fun. I think this is the best all-round commuter vehicle for someone looking for a little performance at the same time. Once my Civic i have had for a little over 10 years dies on me, this is on the top of the list for cars I would seriously consider buying.
Got my GT-Line and I’m absolutely in love with it. Test drove the Accord 2.0t and the Camry TRD, after driving the K5 I was immediately in love with the driving feel, looks and the spec I got. The only thing I wish my K5 GT-Line had was more power, which is exactly what the GT has over it. Planning on upgrading to it soon! Absolute gem of a car.
@@armaankalra3332 I love that Kia Is making amazing looking cars now but their build makes no sense. The top trim doesn’t come in awd but the lower models do. Only certain cars they make come with the interior lighting but not all. Like who sat down and was like yes that’s a great idea. They should offer little things like that for all the cars either included or in a separate package
So you test drove the Accord 2.0 Sport but immediately fell in love with the K5 GT-Line after driving that? And what in your wildest imagination had you falling in love with the gt-line that felt even CLOSE to as good as that 2.0 Accord. I say close because NOTHING is better on that GT-line over that Accord. 2.0 Accord sport has way better steering, handling, will SMOKE that GT_line in a race, has better materials in the cabin. So I'm curious how you came up with this love after test driving a 2.0 Accord sport??? Oh and by the way, I am 100% all about Hyundai. I will not buy anything but a Hyundai vehicle. So I would be the first to defend if what you said was actually true. Now if you said maybe you compared that 2.0 to a Hyundai Sonata Limited, or N_Line, or even a GT K5 i might have understood, but a k5 gt_line, C'mon man
Another great review! My wife got the GT Line because the GT's are just so hard to find. I got my Raiti's Rides shirts in the mail. On throttle, here we go! Spreading the word down hear in Ft. Myers FL.
Been driving a 22 k5 gt line in awd for around 6 months now. Absolutely loving it
Me with 2021! 😮💨😮💨 I’m literally gonna trade it in for a GT in the future and the prices will be way lower I think
Raiti's Ride killing it with k5 GT videos. Something tells me you are a fan of kia. I love it!
Wow, That's one great move Kia have done. Also I'm totally love all kia products especially this one. Also I rather get this vehicle over it's competition. But fantastic review joe.
I rented a base model for a week. I can easily say this is a fantastic vehicle for an everyday family sedan. Even for a base it was feature packed.
The fuel mileage was very hit as well. Of course, the GT may not be as efficient, but that's cool for obvious reasons lol.
The only thing I didn't like was the lighting. It was not bright enough
Buy this car in confidence....
GT model has led interior lights from factory if thats what youre referring to. The interior lights on my GT are bright as hell.
@@Wiggy321 GT model has led hid beams and led fogs pretty bright for what they are. Base model probably has regular halogen bulbs or some cost cutting bs
@@Nickscruiser no they don't come with halogen. I'm very confident I know what halogen lighting is like. I rented the car for over a week.
@@Wiggy321 whatever lighting the base model has its worse than what's available on a GT line or GT trim. My GT has the GT1 package which included the Led hid headlamps meaning the higher trims probably have better external lighting. So if lighting was your only gripe then look into a higher trim level. Youll probably be satisfied with it. Regardless the K5 is an amazing vehicle. Im loving mine so far.
In my opinion you're the best car reviewer in the USA! We might immigrate to the USA in about 2 years time and you give me a really good idea of the cars!!! Thank you!
My wife got a K5 Gt Line in that awesome Wolf Gray not so long ago. And she is in love with it. She always said she would never get a KIA but when she saw it she was amazed
I've watched Raiti's rides for so long, I use the word "zonk" almost all the time! 🤣
I love the facts that you mention that they DO have optional things
u keep reviewing all the cars i been looking at lately, its good to see and will help me make a good decision (also thinking of the audi a3 awd)
My K5 has allwheel drive. Turns on a dime! I love it.
Good thing Lokey Kia has their K5's marked up over 10,000 MSRP.
LOVED this review! Didn't even notice the length. You're funny and very knowledgable and had us interested the whole time! Keep up the great videos! Just trying to get it in chestnut brown seats now :)
Traded in my 2019 Accord sport for a 2022 Wolf Grey GT - Line with the premium package and all I can say is the Kia has been a better car so far. 🤷🏽♂️
Let me know how it goes, I've heard of some gremlins with the K5, but the same goes for the Accord as well.
Why did you trade in your Accord with a K5? OMG. Your Accord Toyota will last longer that that pile of junk. Of course that K5 looks brand new and cool-looking but looks can deceiving. Any new release car will do so well but in a long run that K5 will be leaving stuck in the middle of nowhere! 😒
@@eddiehizo5682 they are way more reliable now tf you mean? Get out of 2000 lol. Hyundai owns them, Hyundai has very good vehicles. Also can’t go wrong with a 100,000 mile warranty. I have 15k on my K5 now and it’s perfect. Honda is so overrated now, my buddy has a 2018 civic and it’s only caused him problems
Definitely an attractive design. The base starts in the $23,500 area. At that price, a 100k warranty, and decent gas mileage with the 1.8L (180hp), that's one fabulously affordable first car, or daily commuter...with style.
We will see in about 10 years how they fare. Design wise best in the house
@Ed Findlay now let me tell you something when it comes to cars. I'm the type of person that buys cars once very 10 years or more. I finance my vehicles and Hyundai or kia is definitely not one of them for financing. All.my vehicles that I have I keep them well past the warranty because I'm proud to call them mine. I know some people like to lease and that's fine but not me. I just like to own it. From experience by the time I buy that vehicle for the next 10 years normally I have a big down-payment on it which means I will pay pocket change and soon after it's all down and paid. Hyundai and Kia generally speaking I normally rent those for a weekend but definitely not daily driving. Hope you get my point.
@@alvinsimba734 if you are constantly financing cars you are doing something wrong

Define horrible, here in Indiana we are no better and I already ordered mine lol
He’s not lying at all guys. I’m driving a 2016 optima EX AND this is just newer. Kia knows what it’s doing
You've got me hooked great job. As a female I rarely watch these ads you are awesome to watch.
I wish they offered the red interior in this spec. They need to add that option for sure.
KIA does offer a non-black interior on the K5 GT. They call it "chestnut brown"; it's not a full-on red, but it looks kind of red-ish in the photos. Of course, it may look different in person.
I was pretty much set on getting a RAV4 for my next car. This Kia is making me think twice.
Have a great weekend, Lori and Joe!
Go with the Kia. I have a 2021 Rav4 Prime and that’s the only Rav4 model that I would recommend unless you’re on a very tight budget. The regular Rav4 and even the Rav4 Hybrid are extremely numb and boring vehicles to drive. Less MPG’s in the Kia but the driving experience is on a different level than the Rav4.
The RAV4 is the cheapest built vehicle with poor build quality. A Kia Sportage is a far better car and it walks over any RAV4 in every way
David you don’t want a crappy loud slow unrefined Rav-4. I have experiences with them and the Prime is the only one worth the money.
@@competitiveautomotive5457 woah don’t say that, the JDM fanboys might tell you Korean cars are junk, and JDM beats everything in the world

I’d personally never purchase a Kia/Hyundai product but i’ve got to admit they are killing it with these new designs and models.
that is just straight up stubborn ignorance on full display. you even recognize it yet you still wont just because of "the brand" you couldn't possibly make yourself sound more ignorant
That's a lovely looking car. Pity they discontinued this in Europe a few years back. Love your work Joe.
I love the look of the Camry…….and the v6.
But I like Kia’s interior dash.
Thanks J&L 👍
I think Kia should put that engine in the Sportage but add AWD and make a Sportage GT.
@@hightiernub1313 Kia has stated that they didn't include AWD with the GT because it would actually out perform the base Kia Stinger and they didn't want internal competition. This is due to how much lighter the K5 is compared to the Stinger along with the inline 4 w/turbo.
@@GDColbert Well they just ended their Kia Stinger. So they can do it. It would be more profital having a competing Mid-Size lineup compared to its competitors. If this had AWD it would destroy the competition.
@@DaveDVideoMaker They're no longer continuing the lineup. No 2023 Stinger.

Great stuff Joe and Lori. I’d love to see an AWD option for the GT. Too much power loss with FWD only. OR Let’s go with a K5 GT2 Limited Edition and put the 3.3 Liter TT V6 in it and go balls to the wall baby!
Dude.... You're basically defining the Kia stinger. Now why would kia make 2 models with the same exact engine/specs? Lol weirdo
@@porfiriato84 It’s not that weird. BMW and Audi do that all the time
@@user-qg2tl3jk9z if the k5 had a v6 and awd, stinger sales would be even worse they are all already. Furthermore, I don’t think a V6 can actually fit in the k5.
@@ismaeldah6512If the K5 had AWD with 2.5T, it’d be priced at around the same that a base stinger is, which has the equivalent amount of features as the fully loaded K5.
If it had the 3.3TT, it’d be priced similar to what a stinger GT1/GT2 already is.
Basically, shoppers would just pick whichever body style they prefer.
This is what Audi does with A6 & A7; or BMW with X5 & X6. Two essentially same cars w/ same powertrains virtually, priced similarly, and shoppers just pick their preferred body style.
So it wouldn’t necessarily tank stinger sales (one could argue however that it may affect Genesis G80 sales though)

Very nice Kia K5 GT and Great Review always Joe. Enjoy this one for sure.
Nice Kia K5 I think Kia did a dandy of a job on this K5 GT. One thing that's missing is probably the blind spot camera.
Very nice K5GT. Toyota needs to catch up with Kia. If they were to add some features that the K5 has the price would be a lot higher though. Thanks for the great review Joe and well done Lori! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Dude the Camry is already nonexistent in this segment. It’s the worst performing, sloppiest driving, and cheapest feeling sedan that’s overpriced.
I swear, when Raiti shouts 'on throttle!', the car gets an extra 25hp boost
i couldnt find one last year so i had to order one, i ordered it in glacial white pearl and they had a ebony black one coming in first so i picked that instead and love it!!
Lookin like a nice good vehicle and won’t be a gas guzzler like the v6 and v8’s, hoping to get one this year ✍🏽
Kudos to KIA and Hyundai notice the K5 GT and Sonata N Line very identical cars for the same price and same features for both of them. Thanks Joe and Lori
I’m planning on getting this exact car in a couple months, hopefully I can get it!!
This is absolutely stunning as someone with a 2017 Camry.
Would choose this over the Accord/Camry/Sonata for sure.
Absolutely gorgeous and sporty for its range!
this 4 door sedan is as fast as my old 2002 trans am ws6. just crazy. kia, most impressive.
Camry TRD if your plan is to keep it long term.
But this K5 GT is extremely competitive.

Like your videos. You seem to cover everything 👍
This car has plenty of power for what it is, but as an enthusiast that appreciates the styling of this vehicle, I wish they put the Stinger V6 in here and made it RWD to compete with the Camry TRD.
I wanted one of these but I was afraid of reliability. Kia/Hyundai make beautiful vehicles.
i bought a gt similar to this one last june it feels like it has more power and torque than what is advertised ? amazing.. the dealers are marking this model very high I wasn't happy with that. I got 32 mpg on a 4 hour freeway trip
Nice done Joe, clean review
Great car, except for the GT should have the option for AWD. It would kill a lot of the torque steer and would put that power down with a lot less slippage. I bet it would accelerate really damn nice with AWD. I really like my Kia, but sometimes they square up to knock it completely out of the park and then miss an obvious thing like that.
Get better tires i have a accord 2.0t with continental extreme contac and ride better then before with factory tired
For some reason I was expecting you to open the center console and pull a Firehouse sub out.
I think I would rather go with the Hyundai Elantra N. Smaller car but nearly equal power and it’s more performance based. I just wish they made the K5 GT stand out from the other models more.
The lights look so good
I love the new logo
love the seats with ventilation lol a summertime must, especially in the Carolinas
I also see the price went up 4k from the 21 model good grief raiti lol

I love all the gloss black.
I'm definitly saving money for the Kia K5 GT and best looking sedan so far out of all other sedans in my opinion, also would really love to hear the K5 with a muffler delete.
I was sold on the 2020/2021 Mazda 6 GT (2.5T) & currently own a Mazda 3 2.5T 5-door. Since Mazda discontinued the "6" for 2022, I wonder if Raiti could do a short comp of 2022 K5 GT to 2021 Mazda 6 GT. I feel the 2022 K5 made some good incremental improvs to win me over.
Just bought a 24 GT . The price now is around 40k . The only thing it needs is summer tires. This car can easily run a5 in a 0 to 60
The OOOONLY thing I wish the K5 had was AWD on the GT model….. I assume they didn’t want to undercut the Stinger until 2023 when there won’t be anymore Stinger.
These and the Telluride are both very popular where I’m from in Lenoir City,TN. If it had a LSD it would be much better but it’s still a great car as is I believe.
Camry TRD you can get their tried and true V6. That's enough of a selling point for me.

As much as I love NA engines plus it’s a v6 the k5 is more refined then the Camry. My choice here is not the Camry nor the k5 my pick is the accord 2.0. Hondas are the kings of making fwd cars. The accord has a peppy engine and has the best steering and handling in the segment. Nothing will dethrone the accord
Both the K5/Sonata N-Line and the Honda Accord Sport blow the TRD out of the water. Plus both can make way more power with a piggy back like the Burger JB4 and 30% E85 blended with premium.
