@@Christian-gr3gu haha thank you very much, personally I look back on my first few videos and I can't stand how tense my voice sounds in them (one of my favourite early comments is someone asking why I sound like text to speech)🤣
I had this game on wishlist years ago, but never pulled the trigger to buy it. After watching your review, I finally bought the game and enjoyed every second of it. I felt regret for not trying out this gem earlier, but at least I'm glad I experienced it now.
Not even two minutes in and we get a reference to The Dishwasher (which kicks total ass) and you provide us with some much-needed history on AS. Already, I can tell this is gonna be good... (POST REVIEW EDIT): Welp! I was right. This was a kickass review of Assault Spy that did a great job summing up the game and pointing out its strengths and some of its niggles, all while clearly understanding its mechanics and how they work. Seriously, out of all the reviews I've seen of Assault Spy, this was EASILY the most accurate, clear and concise of them, all while having a legitimately good sense of humor. (I still think Foxcade DID NOT do Assault Spy justice when he gave it a look all that time ago.) Also, hearing that Assault Spy had some origins as some obscure visual novel from back in 2011 is super interesting! Especially in regards to Asaru and Kanako and their roles in AS's plot. I'm guessing that Asaru and Kanako were the only characters that were ported over from that visual novel and that the rest of the cast was made for AS, and it certainly shows in terms of plot. It's pretty clear to see with how the two of them literally just stumbled into Mr. Showtime's hostile takeover by pure happenstance. If they'd gotten that job a day earlier, then it's entirely possible they would've avoided dealing with Mr. Showtime and Chidori entirely. Hell, if Amelia wasn't so headstrong and thoughtless, then she likely wouldn't have been relegated to comic relief for his campaign. Honestly, Asaru fits as a Vergil-type character much more and it shows with the strong showing he had as 'Mr. Assault' in Amelia's campaign, his Yamato-esq umbrella, how his moveset also kinda evokes Vergil wielding Yamato and the Force Edge, and of course, how everything about him contrasts quite nicely with Amelia, despite the two of them... having a surprising number of similarities if you can look past their night-and-day demeanors. Speaking of the plot, I also really respect how didn't just brush it off and focus entirely on the gameplay after giving it a dismissive sum-up. While AS's plot certainly doesn't have the hidden depth of games like DMC3 and the like, it's nonetheless a genuinely fun romp with a just as genuinely good sense of humor, all topped off by an endearing cast of characters I truly grew to like. Seriously, I really do hope that we get to see more of these characters, Asaru, Amelia, Kanako, and Yoneda especially, in some sort of future title by Wazen because the game left me truly eager to see more of them just like at the end of any DMC game I've played. But... yeah! That's all I can think to say about this review other than maybe increase the volume for future reviews. Maybe it's just my laptop, but I nonetheless had to blast the speakers to hear properly. It's a minor issue though. Altogether, I was seriously impressed by this review and how it gave Assault Spy the respect it deserves, and just like you, I really do hope that the game gets some sort of boost in popularity in the near future, especially with how much hard work Wazen's been putting into updating the game and ironing out bugs.
@@Kraftium Took a while to respond, but here I am. Yeaaaaah, in retrospect, I was just going off on a limb when I said all that and it turned out I was kinda dead wrong. On Wazen's twitter page, I saw the cover for Assal and Spy and while a majority of the designs are different, yeah, you can clearly see Amelia, Kazama, Asaru's boss, Mr. Showtime, and Chidori. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if that robot man and the lady with the black hair and brown coat are meant to represent the Officers and Yoneda as well. But yeah, while I will never likely know its plot unless it somehow gets translated, it looks as thought AS takes more notes from its source material than I gave it credit for. I still do seriously love that the game starts you off playing as what's essentially the Vergil character, especially with how Asaru's story frames things as him and Kanako accidentally stumbling into the plot at Negabot and that Amelia was framed as the main character if it wasn't for her headstrong attitude throwing her completely off course.
Great Video sir, thank you so much for another game i will add to my wishlist and when i get paid i will give this a go, thank you for the extensive knowledge love the video
Great Video Kraft! I'd love to see a vid on any of the games you mentioned at the end since i'm sure you have plenty to say about all of them. The sound was great and I love the little bits of text through out, in the future it may be an idea to have a black stroke on the text so it doesn't vanish when it's against a white BG? Other then that the only thing I think needs a bit of work is being a bit more concise with the plot synopsis, we don't need quite so much detail to get the gist of whats going on story-wise. But yeah looking forward to your next video!! Keep up the good work!
Yo I’m trying to get the last story but when I beat Amelia it just says “beat asaru” when I already hit credits with him. Is there some deal with it or do I have to get all the hidden people in the stages and then clear both?

hack and slash is the best genre in all of gaming way more than shooters (shooters are overrated AF) if you got more hack and slash games it would be nice if you make a review on them bro
Sorry for the late reply i think i was at work when i saw your comment and just forgot to get back to it I don't know when I'll get round to it but i have recently played most of the modern ninja gaiden series so keep an eye open for that I'll probably do a scriptless ramble with notes for the whole series opposed to a full edited video on each tho

@@Kraftium I think king crimson should win in a fight because it’s “time erase” PLUS future seeing, diavolo should see dio/jotaro stopping time before hand and erase time one second prior to that,The world is 2~5 seconds long and king crimson 10 so it’s game over.
