"It's not about Bikes."
Glad that's cleared up.
I'm still laughing lol
youre literally the only reviewer i watch. others just fkn bought or are scared to ruin their rep. hope u continue to grow
@@twilightcoda8572 well played
Like, literally. Totally, like
Same
Don't need X-ray vision to know Mack is the best.
Yep that's why im here although we dont share a similar taste in games
looks like a rare city builder where they got the GUI and art style right. looks great
Yea rare, check out Farthest Frontier, this is a complete ripoff of that
@@danielkato5289with some frostpunk vibes as well
@@danielkato5289 In the same way that Farthest Frontier is just a ripoff of Banished or the Anno series? Most of these city/colony builders are pretty damn similar, and Farthest Frontier definitely was not the first. It doesn't mean they are ripping each other off, it just means there is a standard, generic formula that most of these types of games stick to, for better or worse. If anything the game is more similar to Frostpunk aesthetically with similar UI, as the other commenter said.
It looks just like After the End and Endzone to me tbh.
I knew it would be this when you talked about a new city builder in your Monthly Update. The Atmosphere in this game is really great
Keep up the amazing work Mack. You are one of my first channels that I have ever followed many years ago and you are still my top reviewer. Honest, fun and awesome! Thank you!
It looks a lot like Frostpunk. The UI, the glint of the icons, missions in a city builder game done by scouts...
Some of the icons (like for wood) look exactly the same as Farthest Frontier
First thing i noticed too. Had to check if it was from the same devs or something. But it isnt
that tree look's the same as the other
I loved Anno 1800 so I will give this a try. Thanks Mack
Thanks for putting it on my radar.
When the title knows what the comment section will ask 😆
Really sleek presentation to this game
This reminds me of a game that came out a little while back same scenario and everything but this looks bigger and better
Best review channel 🛎️
I don't always agree with Mack on his game recommendations - I loved Death Stranding for example .
But he is a trusted source - authentic .
Maybe the size of the bucket could be a bit of a bottleneck with a well but surely they could just make a bigger bucket. :)
"build a new civilization out of the chaos of an apocalyptic solar flare"
so, 2024 simulator
"grow beyond survival " that's extinction isn't it?😂
I know you don't do lists but since you played so many, could you make a top 10 city builders?
Looks alright but if im gonna play something like this i prefer something unique that really stands out. Still i wish all the best for every indie developer.
Great WAB. Mack will you be WABING HELLDIVERS 2 in february, its helldivers 1 but in third person, we talking boots on the ground Mack, never preordered a game b4 but its tempting, looks amazing
i think game like this is a standard of early access game. imo game that should be allow to be called early access need to complete to some extend.
it's super annoying when some game use this loophole and make half finish game and sell as early access game with zero intention to finish the game (this is not include game that in early access for years like rust,7dtd etc since their game is actually already complete but keep update the game)
I like the style, noted. ty mack
The art does look really good.
As games stagnate for the big companies, indies are really bringing the spark back to the industry!
Best reviews on UA-cam
Old World has a new DLC out today. Why don't you give that game a review Mack?
Looks fun for a bit of a
Been keeping an eye on this one for a while, glad to hear it's decent. But can we all take a moment to appreciate Anno 1800, best game Ubisoft makes, and has been the inspiration for quite a few excellent indie builders.
Imagine a well holding 500 gallons and you can get 10 gallon out every hour and that is going as fast as you can. Now dig the well deeper so it holds 1000 gallons that same person can only still remove 10 gallons and hour but you have more water.
So if you place a well that has 3 water sources you have more water that well can remove but you can only go as fast as having one source where as if you build a well for each source you can get more water out per hour, makes sense to me.
This will come useful when that new Roman frontier city builder.. Like Ceaser 3 comes out. Aquaducts.
Anno 1800 with no boats but all the nuanced irritations of Frostpunk skinned like Surviving the Aftermath... dogwater.
Mac, you're the coolest. Keep rockin
another good looking game to keep an eye on.
I wish I had waited for this instead of buying Pionners of Pagonia. Also recommended but I got tired of it quickly. This looks much more challenging and better overall.
What I hate about these games is that apparently whenever there's an apocalypse, humanity forgets how to build anything and thus all they're capable of is erecting some ghastly looking buildings from scrap metal and duct tape.
It’s not that people forget to build things, it’s that all the supply chains shut down so building materials are scarce.
This has to be made by the guys who made FrostPunk, menu etc looks very very similar.
it's not, those guys are making frostpunk 2, this is a shameless ripoff
@@doltBmB"the UI is similar so it's a shameless ripoff"
@@Vlamyncksken and the gameplay
@@doltBmB which is alike to frostpunk as, say, anno's is..
@@Vlamyncksken city builder with a popularity meter, decision events, exploration teams in an overworld, and a cataclysm youh have to survive
The fact they gave you a review copy makes me respect the developer a lot more tbh.
Say, how does this one compare to Surviving the Aftermath or Endzone, especially regarding the atmosphere?
love the title lol
You should post more of those song segments that you performed.
Been waiting for this game to come out sinc the last Steam Next Fest in 2023. Reminded me of Banished mixed with the atmosphere of Frostpunk. Just bought the early access today and will most likely be playing this till bed time after I get off work. 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
It's not about steroids either
@worth a buy Is this worth £22.49 now that is available of early access?
I thought this was something to do with Jeremy Vine.
Such an original concept.
I don't even plan on buying any of these games! I watch cus macks a legend!
Thanks
A city builder...
Surviving after a Carrington Event.
One of the most probable causes for civilization collapse during our lifetime.
The only thing necessary is for the Sun to "fart" hard enough towards Earth's direction.
I will really miss Mack's reviews here on YT. 🤣
The UI, ascetics and some gameplay looks very familiar to Frostpunk, but it's not Frostpunk dev making this, I'm confused
BIKES !!
Anyone else click just to see his new bike?
For anyone interested. Apoplectic rant starts at 4:20
Mack, check out "The Last Train Home", I think you'll like it given the quality and your interest in The Great War.
Hi.
Two quick questions.
1. Are the game keys hard coded/locked to WASD sytle of play (ie. can you reassign all the game keys without any "residual effects")?
2. Did you find that this game "cheats" in any way? Eg. Frostpunk will always inundate the player with up to 86% sick at a predetermined time regardless of whether all correct conditions are met to keep your population healthy.
Awesome review but i the reviews with the rant bell... wait...there is 4:14 :D
Oh, another city builder.
Bikes? where bikes!
Looks alright.
Very much inspired by Frostpunk, I think it's a bit too similar with worker allocation and the UI.
I hope they manage to personalize the game a bit more, just to avoid the obvious rip off accusations.
I totally agree. A lot of it looks ripped off from Frostpunk. Too much, really.
Lol this was literally what I thought when I saw the first Game Mode selection screen . I believe even the font is the same? Isn't it from the same developer behind the scenes or smth?
It's about bikes.
The style is quite similar to frostpunk in my opinion
it's straight up a ripoff
i mean id expect you get more water into the well but you surely arent getting as much water out of the well with 3 vs 1 wells
no thanks, I'm going to wait for Frostpunk 2
Thanks Mack
I'm more exited for Manor Lords tbh..
Does it look like the whole UI was stripped 1-to-1 from Frostpunk?
"99 year old youtuber from northern UK is banned after publically demanding violence against young pupils in school. mack m.: 'didnt harm me back then!' "
It's not like a copy of Endzone or Survivng the aftermath?
So you're saying this is not about a chav with a shiny new 49cc scooter ripping down the streets of Bensham?
Better then Surviving the Apocalypse?
Eh, city builders are a dime-a-dozen. They are all exactly the same.
This game looks sick
Endzone World Apart clone?
Thans bood solide rekview
The Road?
You got early access to the Early Access? 🙃
do workers and resources: soviet republic, stop playing these children's "city builders"
Are you going to review Call of duty zombies?
i mean do people see Cycle and immediately jump to Motorcycle? i guess. it took me a minute to put two and two together because i don't have strong association of that word with Motorcycle.
for me you say Cycle and i think dark/edgy goth stuff, Dark Souls and your Elden Rings, and books where a cycle is this huge big deal thing everyone gets all dramatic about.
👍👍
but is it worth a buy?
no manuel save like aliens dark decent put me of already.
So how much did you actually learn in school Mac? I sure af avoided at least half of it.
Next cycle must be bicycle
oooo coal and smoke, Greta won't like that
HOW DARE YOU!!!
I'm surprised given your experience w/the genre you'd know intuitively. See, in the future no one will be able to learn anything w/out 1st possessing at least 500 units of clay, 750 rabbit pelts & a minimum of 3 toilets per person, obviously.
Surely you mean genre? I'm sure he has much experience with his taxonomic categories already.
@@demonicsquid7217 Ther, that bettor ?
Brown. Brown brown. Brown. Brown.... and brown. I hate it when games do that. And yet the comment below me is saying "they got the art style right" wtf. Each to his own I guess, but for me that's a no buy.
This is Frostpunk but diffrent. The UI and Menus are nearly 1:1 copys, many mechanics are the same. Added some new stuff and made their own assets.
It’s not about bikes.
Just when I thought 2024 couldn’t get any more disappointing…
It's very brown.
So farthest frontier
Biking enthusiasts are going to be so disappointed.
I‘ve never felt the urge to buy an early access title. This game is no exception.
Bet you’re a fun lion at parties.
Your loss. Early Access doesn't mean it's bad, plenty of Early Access games out there are that are better than fully released games.
@@navahojoe Every party benefits immensely from my presence.
@@FunLion whatever you say, McLovin.
Not sure there’s much value in looking at games that aren’t quite in early access yet. Prefer reviews of finished games. But thanks anyway.
Like the games these days are; definitely not worth a buy.
another survival city builder not complaining but this is definitely a trend ever sins frostpunk started this sort of subgenre
I played the game today and guys, this game has nothing to do with anno, no material flow, no ships, no fun.
You can't even compare this to Frostpunk, because even there you have to look where to put the producton buildings. New Cycle more feels like a smartphone game, where you just build houses where you want and fast forward, because everything is so boring.
You're for corporal punishment? Comes as no surprise. Game looks decent, I'll keep it in mind. You're not gonna try to smack me if I don't buy right away, are you?
I thought I was about your mum....😮
Is this about exercycles?
This kinda looks like a massive Endzone ripoff
n1
Mobile game 💩
another uninspired frostpunk clone, this one can't even come up with it's own UI design style
