i know it sounds a little dumb, but do TONS of Wonder Trades! if you're just walking around or even just doing something afk, do Wonder Trades! the system is so quick and fluid in this game. i seriously completed an entire fourth of my dex through Wonder trade alone

this is one of the main reasons i liked arceus better, completing the dex felt more possible/accomplishing for me
I understand, but both feel really good. I like filling the PokeDex in scarlet because it is harder and more challenging. I have Legends: Arceus as well.

one thing i think is really useful is if you want a pokémon with three evolutions, catch the middle evolution, then level it up or use an item to get the final evolution, then breed it for the first. that way u use up way less candies and less time
I just catch every stage I see in the wild lol
Or just catch the first one and evolve it (you can get hundreds and hundreds of large candies from 7 star raids)
@@phoneeyeah,my thing has always been that catching the first is most convenient. If you have the first,you basically have the family. Albeit it might take a little time,or candies.
When i was completing the pokedex, i did the exclusives first, and moved onto the normal pokemon. i went around the different biomes and caught everything in it. Then at the end i did the special evolutions and trade evos!
Completing the pokedex would’ve been so much better with the arceus catching mechanin

Hint on quick balls once you have them if the first one fails you can run away re fight and get those higher odd catch rate again
None of my friends play pokemon and i didn't purchase the nintendo online subscription while playing pokemon violet. and I still (barely) managed to complete my pokedex. I had sworn not to pay a single additional cent after that 60 dollars. I had 2 methods of getting the version exclusives or trade evolutions. Both involve using the Pokémon Home to my advantage.
My first method was transferring my pokemon from other games I played, in my case I had only played Shield in prior (and luckily I used to have switch online at that time). This accounted for a chunk of Pokémon, like Scisor, Drifloom, Tyranitar, Hydreigon, etc. The only regular Pokémon I couldn't get this way was Slowking and Palafin (since they're not in sword or shield).
For paradox pokemon and box legendaries, I used the Pokemon Home's trading feature. This was pretty straightforward as well, since Scarlet players would also be interested in my violet exclusives.
The hardest pokemon for me to get were as I mentioned, Slowking and Palafin, as I had virtually nothing to offer for a trade. After further examination, I realized that some Pokémon were generally used as a currency. Two of these were Gholdengo and Dudunsparce 3 segmented form. After days of checking if gimmighoul chests have respawned, I decided to breed for 3 segmented dudunsparce. It took 2 days to find 2 of them. Then I went ahead and traded them in Pokémon Home.
TLDR: if you use Pokemon Home smartly you can get many pokemon you're not able to catch yourself.
also, false swipe is great for catching pokémon and shines!! for people that don’t know, false swipe makes it that the pokemon doesn’t faint
And Gallade makes one of the best false swipers because he also gets access to hypnosis.
To those wondering, pokemon are easier to catch if they're suffering from a status effect. Sleep and Freeze have the highest bonus multipliers of all the statuses.
Super Fang is great also
I work harder, not smarter, so my ampharos is my pokemon catching expert. He just paralyzes the little buggers and then I just chuck balls at them until I catch em.
Also let me just say: Breloom LOSING ACCESS TO SPORE ON EVOLUTION IS BS. If it's in the current move pool, it'll keep it but if it ever forgets it, it can't ever remember it. Yeah it has access to Stun Spore, but that's wholly inferior for a false swiper.
I think Gallade is the only false swiper in this generation that gets a sleep status move.

You can tell what raids they are by the pin purple is pokemon violet and orange pin is scarlet instead of looking at the badges
You dont need to trade exclusive if you have 1 with violet and the other with scarlet you can catch each others exclusive..
I don’t know if I’m stupid or something but I got the whole pokedex completed, even counted them one by one. 1 to 400, all here. Even compared with the Pokédex online one by one. Yet the Pokédex tells me I only saw and caught 399. I’m going crazy there !!
What about the second box legendary or maybe even gohldengo idk I’m still at like 300 on my dex but I’m working on it any tips ??

If you catch your version exclusive and then trade them away do they still count towards your Pokédex or do you need to have all 400 in your game at the same time?
It still counts, you don’t need them all at once, you just need to have had them each at some point to count as an entry in the Dex.
It counts to ur dex
If you catch a pokemon, then trade it for another one both Pokemon will be permanently added to your Pokedex.
Or you can union circle with the other game
For example, im playing violet and my girlfriend was scarlet i am able to catch her exclusive pokemon from her without trading
Also pick up the little sea urchin Pokémon cause well let’s just say a familiar trade is back but I’m here to confirm that Hauntikins is Better that the POS that MANDY gave us
I'm at 240 pokemon. Just having fun cruising areas I didn't fully explore after beating the game.
Can I use Pokémon home on the switch to switch my bulk amount of Pokémon in scarlet and send them to Violet to now fill up my violet dex quickly and complete my violet and scarlet dex so I can get shiny charms or no.
Tips and tricks aren't subjective.
I jus took all of them from pokemon home and transferred them into the game. And caught the rest far as the legends and the loyal ones
I tried raising the Normal type Encounter Powers while I was in Area Three of the South Province in an attempt to find a Slakoth there, but all I got were a bunch of Yungoos. Oh! And a few Happiny.
Do you have any tips or tricks for that?
I’m new but is slakoth the final evolution? If so you can breed it, if not try to go to a different zone with the sandwich.
No, Slakoth is the first part of the evolution chain. It's Slaking who's the final evolution.
According to the Pokedex and the map, Area Three of the South Province is the earliest place you can find low-level Slakoth. Even though there aren't much trees there, I tried to see if I can find any Slakoth, but they were more rare than I thought after I had three Happiny encounters, and according to the Pokedex, Happiny are supposed to be more rare than Slakoth.

Well, the Pokedex did say that Slakoth are rarely seen.
Try breeding if you have the later evolution
When it comes to finding Dittos, if you highlight the pokemon to throw a ball but dont throw it will actually name it as a Ditto or ??? If youve not met one before. Easiest way to find it. Works for others that pretend to be others too, like Zoroark
For me it changed to Ditto once I’ve encountered a Ditto despite it not looking like a Ditto physically

@@PKensington did got me I even got paradox Pokémon and I was able to trade those. I recommend Austin Johns channel for exclusive Pokémon and there are codes for those and if you are needing to trade Pokémon that requires trading like Scyther with metal coat. Go to link trade and just put “0” and the Pokédex number for it twice and should link you to someone

yes that’s a good place! you don’t need to complete the pokédex before you finish the pokémon league! after you do it also, you can be able to catch more pokémon easier

What does "recent notes" mean at the bottom of the pokedex mean??
Recent notes are pretty much the Pokémon you’ve caught before. Say, you catch a snorunt. In your recent notes, the Pokémon on the far left would be the snorunt. Pretty much just a “you did this recently”

You can do the hard work and find all of them, but trading is easier

I didn’t realize some ppl just wanted trade their miraidon or koraidon just to get the Pokédex filled… when I traded my koraidon for someone’s miraidon they stayed in the trade and I was just happy to have both legendaries to use in battle… then I left without realizing that they might’ve wanted their miraidon back😭

Dose someone have the hole Pokédex they can trade me so I can get it done
I can't trade pokemon so I can't complete the pokedex, but in order for me to trade I would need to start and finish the game on my online account or make another Nintendo account and put it on my offline account. Comment which one I should do!
