the iron valiant/roaring moon location is also the best place to exp farm without candies btw; the grassy area without the pattern on the ground is where you're gonna get the most chansey spawns out of anywhere in the game, and they're at the highest level possible (around 55).
Hi I’m asking like everyone I hope someone can awnser me why does iron valiant after you catch it get the double blade but the wild one has the arm blades (this in battle I mean)
One tipp if you Shiny Hunt Iron Valiant: If you have the fairy boost, they can actually spawn in the entrance of the cave that goes from Station 3 to Station 4 and no Greavard will spawn.
Not being able to box the riding Legend means that you also wont be able to put it in Pokemon HOME. Thus the catchable version of the box Legend is the only one that can be used to get the dex entry for HOME dex once HOME can be connected with SV. Something to keep in mind if you consider to trade it away forever.
@@Leondragon06 There's a duplication glitch that puts a copy of it in your box, as well as duplicating it's held item. You still can't trade the duped legendary, though. To do this, have a full party including the ride pokemon, then catch a pokemon. When prompted, choose to put the newly caught pokemon in your party, pressing A, then B to select the ride pokemon as the one to send back into the box, bypassing the "can't be sent to box" check.
Also the only one that will be able to go to gen 10 and above too So it sounds counter conducive but I'd would put more effort into the tradeable one compared to one we all get attached to because once this generation is over we are going to have to say goodbye to good doggo dragon because it can't follow us into the future games and beyond because of that
I don't know if anyone has said it yet, but in regards to hunting shiny Iron Valiant @ 16:23, I found out something cool as a fluke that will help a ton! if you get fairy 3* sandwitch buffs, you can go to the caves at research station 4 and they'll spawn all over the place and i found a shiny in like 2 minutes using the iron bundle route; I assume Roaring Moon will also have a similar spawn interaction with dragon buffs
That's actually a mechanic if you get a high enough level a good chance that Pokemon will be the only one to spawn unless there's another poke with the same type to spawn
I got the second miraidon with the master ball and fully EV trained him and got him to lvl 85 off the bat. Sure, he bullied my miraidon and killed Turo, but Turo was already gone beyond sanity by the time he died and now my 1st miraidon gets to watch in glee as other miraidon has to battle the crap outa himself. Win win. I get 2 strong miraidon, and 1st miraidon gets his revenge.
I couldn't agree more about the story. This is the first pokemon game in a bit where I actually cared. I cried, I laughed, I didn't want it to end. It was phenomenal.
Happy you could enjoy it but it was the opposite for me. This is the first Pokémon game in a while that I didn’t enjoy. The story was pretty boring to me😅
Fun fact: both the Iron Valiant and Roaring Moon resemble their normal variants’ megas. Iron Valiant has a dress like Mega Gardevior and Blades on its arms like Mega Gallade. Roaring Moon has the wings of a Mega Salamance.
On a side note, I think people always immediately mention the Salamence resemblance and the Mega form wings and don't realize Roaring Moon is also likely a common ancestor to Hydreigon as well. The dark type, limb proportions and feathery appearance are the giveaways. Look at them side by side when flying and they move in a similar manner. I'm still trying to figure out if other paradox mons are "fusions" like this, but at the least, Roaring Moon and Valiant are composed of two mon designs each. One where evolution diverged in the present, another where evolution brought two pokemon together.
I loved the story in this game. It was incredible. The twists and turns from the path of legends and area zero. The music and plot twists were amazing.
Pro tip: for roaring moon and iron valiant, negating cluster spawning works best. After you reach spawn cap (13 Pokémon at once) slowly and carefully despawn Pokémon one by one. That way pokemon like greaveard and pawmi can’t spawn because they always spawn in groups of 5. That way you can get a bunch of Pokémon excluded from your spawns
Extra tip for iron thorns, in that area with the rock you can go above and they will spawn much more frequently. Than that opposed to that small stone circle. :) Happy Hunting!
Tip for anyone catching the second box legendary, you can use repeat balls for better catch rates instead of ultra balls if you want to save your master ball. When you get ridable miraidon to achieve battle form and can put it on your team it is already registered to the pokedex, so repeat ball will have better catch rate than ultra ball if your looking to save master ball for something more important! Edit: lot of replies of people having caught legendary in low catch rate balls. Congratulations, weird flex but ok.
Hello to anyone new, a lot of paradox pokemon ARE NOT available during the “way home” storyline, I talk from experience, I spent almost 2 hours trying to get Iron Valiant to spawn on it’s location and it never did, I even used fairy and fighting encounter boosts up to level 2 and nothing, alternatively (I have both versions) when I looked for the salamace paradox in scarlet I just used one level 1 dragon encounter booster post game and that made 10 of them to spawn, so in conclusion, these two are only available post game just thought you should know
9:44 the symbol on the floor is actually the symbol that appears on the floor of the arceus egg event and also in the final boss fight against arceus in legends, or at least it appears as that to me. I think it is quite odd to see that it would be placed in a closed off cave system but maybe it could be relating to something in the future of the game
It’s not. This one’s too simple in design and has 4 “corners” (don’t know how else to put it) signified by the 4 spheres on the ends (in short, it’s a square). The arceus one has 3 spheres that align in a triangle signifying the creation trio, with arceus being in the middle.
Gotta give a shout out to Austin John for this one. Finally got my shiny charm and had enough Herba Mystica for one run, and got 3 Iron Thorns off of it
Shiny hunting over online may be a bit gimped with the reduced spawns, but it sure is nice that as a scarlet player, I'm the OT of my shiny iron hands and iron valiant. I do really like the fact that you can catch the other game's exclusives if you're around each other.
For the iron thorns spawn if there aren’t any at the bottom of the slope climb up to the top. I have a 100% encounter rate there when doing that as they can spawn at both the bottom and top.
I love how much effort austinjohn puts into all his videos he does so much to give us the knowledge of everything we need to know to help us through our gameplays
Hi Austin. I just bought myself a switch because I've been wanting to play the new Pokemon games for ages. I last played Pokemon in the early 2000s. I played Sapphire on my Gameboy advance and my biggest regret was that i could not catch the legendary Pokemon on that. Plus, i couldn't trade for them, because I didn't know anyone who had that game. And then i found your video yesterday. I finished the game two days ago and i realised that i could catch the legendary ones here. And i did. What an amazing feeling. And then, I realised that i could trade and didn't need to know the other person in order to make the trade. You won't believe it but I got a Reyquasa!!! The Pokemon that eluded me all those years ago now sits at the top of my party. So thank you very much. Thank you for fulfilling a dream that I had since I was 13 years old!! This may not mean much but you just got yourself a new fan!
The co-op tip is so helpful! I've wanted to get all the version exclusives with my OT, so I've just traded and bred the normal ones; but you can't breed paradox pokémon. Thanks a lot for all the effort in these vids, the random shinies you've been getting is just good karma haha!
Only made it like two minutes into the video but I’ve gotta agree, this is one of the first times I’ve cared about a Pokémon story and I absolutely love it. Your videos have also been super helpful to me throughout my play through and they always seem to come out right when I need them. Always love AJP season
I'm not sure if this has been brought up in other videos, last night I was playing with my friend and we realized something about area zero. The other game's paradox pokemon aren't sparse- the encounters just work exactly like they do outside of area zero. When my friend and I were in the same spot, I (scarlet) was seeing a bajillion iron valiants, but they would disappear if my friend left the area. So it's perfectly feasible to shiny hunt other version exclusives, but you'd have to be on voice chat and be very well coordinated since you can't see the other player in area zero, just the spawns they attract
I actually managed to catch a shiny iron valiant in a premier ball this morning! It was thanks to the level 3 sandwiches you showed, so thanks! (He was a pain to get in a premier though, had to reset 3 times)
By the way, some of the double salty don't need to be double salty. For instance, I put ham, 1 sweet herb and 1 salty herb, and got level 3 for ground encounter, title and sparkling. So if you're missing one of the herbs, don't be scared to combine what you do have and see what it does.
Just finished the complete story. It was amazing and epic. Really loved what they did with the story. Perfect time to start hunting and filling up the dex 😍
Hey quick tip for shiny hunting Iron Valiant, it can spawn anywhere in the cave besides the water, not just the grass area. By going throughout the cave, I was able to catch 2 in a half hour.
it’s so hard to do this for roaring moon. dragon encounter still gives tons of zweilous and gabite with gibles. but dark encounter is even worse with sableye, sneasle, and still zweilous so you have to use a dragon encounter.
So far I have 15 of the 16 Paradox pokemon already, but my only shiny is the Lechonk evo I just came for shiny information... THANKS FOR THE GOOD VIDEO
Hearing the odds for 3 segment Dundunsparce makes me appreciate whomever surprise traded out a Shiny 3 Segment holding a giant nugget! That was my very first surprise trade of the game when I started yesterday!
I mean tbf I trade any shinies I don’t want to wonder trade hoping to make someone’s day. I have gotten 19 shinies so far in scarlet and 4 of them before the post game and all of them so far have been full odds. I been team building BIS catcher, EGG nanny and raid beasts instead I’ll go shiny hunting once I’ve gotten a full party of raid battlers. But sometimes we just wanna do something nice for others it’s not always hackers.
It’s safe to assume every surprise traded Pokémon is likely to be hacked if it’s in any way decent. In one of the previous games I think 50% of my trades were level 100 shinies 😂 it takes the fun out of it for me so I don’t bother.
The problem with trading the extra Koraidon/Miraidon is that the one in your party can't be boxed and obviously it won't go in Home when it becomes avaiable. But at least you could always make another profile and get another one.
Hey Austin I just wanted to say thank you for all your videos, I’m an Italian Nintendo UA-camr too and I really appreciate how you’re able to show us all these tips and tricks in such a smooth and easy manner. I also really appreciate that a more “grown up” guy talks about Pokémon without a childish tone or a falsely excited way of talking, it makes your videos such a pleasure to watch! Thank you for inspiring me make more videos!
The best part about making koridion or miridon is that you can nickname them. They been with you since the start they should deserve a nickname. I called my toothless.
That cave with the pattern (I almost am certain that the four circles are the same pattern that is on that plaque) I found like, three or four Iron Valiants.
I just had a thought while watching this video... What if in a future update or DLC, they make past and future paradox dittos for each game? Like a more metallic mercury esque ditto (probably named Iron Gloop or something) and its main purpose is it can breed with any other future pokemon, And then for its past paradox, Its alot more of an organic blob like a mix of leaves, mud, tree sap and that sort of stuff (Probably named Natural Sludge or something) that would then breed with any other past pokemon. I was also thinking, for future DLC, there could be some minor storyline of like Penny trying to investigate/understand the time travel device and ends up reversing it, allowing version exclusives but in the opposite way. Like new future pokemon in scarlet from pennys reversal and new past pokemon in violet due to the same reversal. Just some thoughts to throw into the void!
Iron Valiant is actually pretty easy to catch with Encounter Power: Fairy. The entire last area that is like a cave system, leading up to the lab, was full of Iron Valiants for me.
Hi Austin. Thanks for all the vids. The codes worked wonders for me! I just finished my pokedex thanks to them. I would suggest to add a code for Slowking, Scizor and Haunter for the trade evolutions, though. Thanks again for all the work :D
I've had three wild shinies as I've freely played this game and that feeling never gets old. Some really good ones, too. Marill, sableye, pawmi. I've only ever had one or two if that in every other main line game without farming.
I’ve been playing this game for over 20 years and I have never seen a shiny once. And I always drop at least 2k hours a game. Gen 3 Ive dropped a cool 20k+ hours so far in my life and not a single accidental shiny 😭
@@n9nedots similar situation here, although i highly doubt i've put nearly as much time into the series as you have. Only got one shiny before Gen 9 and it was the guaranteed Shiny Gyarados in Heartgold's Lake of Rage. Now i have 2 full odds shinies in Violet, and i APPARENTLY let another one slip by me? Edit: 5 of them now, and i figured out what might have happened to the one that "slipped by". The game counts a shiny evolving as another "shiny battled" on your trainer card. It was a Dunsparce... which i evolved to Dudunsparce.
I’ve encountered a wild shiny mankey in Violet randomly. I was gliding over a plains area coming from a mountain and decided to just drop and run instead. I landed in front of a group mankeys and all of them turned around. I was about to pull off and stopped and was like “yo are one of these monkeys green or am I tripping?” Lo n behold it was a shiny! Found him and gastly naturally.
SUPER helpful guide, as always! also, i dunno if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but the mouth of the main cave that you first enter in the storyline within area zero also appears to be a spawn location for iron valiant; with fighting type encounter power there, i was only spawning in iron valiant in violet! i'd assume it's the same for roaring moon, too. :)
was using this vid to find where Iron thorns was, went to second research station, and immediately found a full odds shiny iron bundle(no shiny charm yet)! he was the shiny I wanted most of the violet paradox pokes
I find it much easier to get iron thorn with this method. TP at observatory 3 Go forward, right above the giant cave in front of you. There should be a slope down and another slope (Rocky this time) that leads to a river in front of you. *Iron thorn spawns around the Tree in between those Slopes* and you can basically move in "8" around that tree back n forth. In fact I find it so reliable I just use them to farm Atk EV by crit catching them with rapid ball and sending them in Mystery Trade online. Because why move around the map when I can complete my pokedex by catching Epic Machine creatures and hopefully make a handful of kid happy to get a Mecha-Tyrannitar for their Magikarp.
Iron Bundle is actually the first shiny I found in this game. Who knows how many I just didn't notice going through the game, but Iron Bundle stood out so much it was easy to spot.
I agree. The story was great! I enjoyed it. I'm still in the post-game, but the story was well done. I love the humor with the teleporty teleporters in the video, lol. Thanks editing Austin John for all the hard work you put into these videos! The humor there is great too lol.
Thanks for your videoes, Austin! Was able to complete my paradoxes (except for Miraidon, she had already traded it to her friend) and I even got a Shiny Garganacl!
This in area zero proved a problem for me and my other half, like you said we couldn't see each other and I was only able to catch two of his version exclusives. I've read that if you stand in the same spot and lure a pokemon to you after encounter, all players will become visible
Just a word of warning for the second legendary. You can trade it to have both but remember you won’t be able to put in a box so I assume you won’t be able to transfer it to home meaning really you will only have it for this game only and not future games. Just thought I’d put that out there. I know Austin mentioned you can’t put it in your boxes in the video but thought I’d add the point about home compatibility.
For you Shiny Hunter's going for Iron Valiant and are having problems getting him to spawn, the route that is used for Iron Bundle in the Shiny Hunting Strategy section of the video will also work for Iron Valiant.
Shiny hunting the paradox mons has been a massive pain. Currently have 3 shiny gibles, a shiny greavard, and 2 shiny zweilous, and a random shiny pawmi. Still have yet to see a shiny roaring moon after 2k encounters using the optimal sandwich. I guess all my luck went into Pokémon I don't want lol
I got to say I totally agree with what you said at the start that this game story is amazing . I’m Hispanic and so when I heard Pokémon was going to make a región based off Spain and Portugal I was both excited and worried that the story line would be boring . But pokemon proved me wrong . Even with people in my for you page spoiling bits of the game I still had a blast roaming a around . Even at the end of the game where my Pokémon were a bit over leveled I still managed to struggle in the elite four and against the professor . I have the second game now ready to play it’s copy and too complete this game and overall hang out with my other friends who also enjoyed it .
Then on top of it the pokemon didn’t come to disappoint me I love fuecoco s design and it’s connection to me and the day of the dead with it being a ghost type and having a white skull on top of the orange wreath or fire representing the flowers we use

the iron valiant/roaring moon location is also the best place to exp farm without candies btw; the grassy area without the pattern on the ground is where you're gonna get the most chansey spawns out of anywhere in the game, and they're at the highest level possible (around 55).
I would disagree

Hi I’m asking like everyone I hope someone can awnser me why does iron valiant after you catch it get the double blade but the wild one has the arm blades (this in battle I mean)
@@editix8034 there removable in the attack animation
@@xxbutterjackxx1224 yes but after you catch it it loses the arm blades it doesn’t remove them just for the attack
Good important note thanks
@@Leondragon06 There's a duplication glitch that puts a copy of it in your box, as well as duplicating it's held item. You still can't trade the duped legendary, though.
To do this, have a full party including the ride pokemon, then catch a pokemon.
When prompted, choose to put the newly caught pokemon in your party, pressing A, then B to select the ride pokemon as the one to send back into the box, bypassing the "can't be sent to box" check.
Also the only one that will be able to go to gen 10 and above too
So it sounds counter conducive but I'd would put more effort into the tradeable one compared to one we all get attached to because once this generation is over we are going to have to say goodbye to good doggo dragon because it can't follow us into the future games and beyond because of that
Oh i never realised and already traded it but its fine I traded it to my friend
Yeah this kinda stucks, I can place my traded legendary in Home but not my box legendary. Guess I'll have to play it twice!
Most free shiny ever, thanks for that!
Thank you so much for sharing!! I just did this for iron valiant and they def do spawn like crazy down there! 😊
Doesn't work for Roaring Moon. Zweilous has a higher spawn rate for dragon and dark so it's a pain in the @ss
That's actually a mechanic if you get a high enough level a good chance that Pokemon will be the only one to spawn unless there's another poke with the same type to spawn
@gamerwolffang2722 even at the highest level at 3, around 50-60% of the spawns will still be zweilous
I caught the 2nd box legendary just to keep it in a box all alone. It knows what it did.
It must suffer
I did a similar thing but transferred my Koraidon to be with my Miraidon so they can be naughty together
Sun and Moon, and Black and White 2, as well as Scarlet and Violet did that for me.
Cried? Lmfao
Same
Black and White's story was still better IMO but Scarlet and Violet still had a really good story.
Roaring moon has a way better body build. I detest mega salamence. But love Roaring Moon
@@TheSpectralForce yup. Totally didnt see that, but i agree with you
Fun fact: it tells you that on the Pokédex.
Here's some tips for getting Roaring Moon, Slither Wing, and Iron Bundle: ua-cam.com/video/yVywDH80wPA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AustinJohnPlays
Extra tip for iron thorns, in that area with the rock you can go above and they will spawn much more frequently. Than that opposed to that small stone circle. :) Happy Hunting!
Same for Sandy Shocks. Same spawn locations.
It’s also possible to duplicate the Masterball, Which is what I did
I critical caught it with a poke ball lol, life is not fair
Im catching my koriadon in a moonball, same thing with roaring moon
@@gearsofwar2497 how do you get the apricorn balls in this game
I got it with a Quick Ball. Pretty lucky for my first throw lol
For iron valiant, if you have Fairy encounter meal power you'll see TONs of them in the area bit above research station 4.
Specifically, Ultra Ham sandwiches make them spawn constantly
what's the sparkling sandwich for iron valiant?
Hello to anyone new, a lot of paradox pokemon ARE NOT available during the “way home” storyline, I talk from experience, I spent almost 2 hours trying to get Iron Valiant to spawn on it’s location and it never did, I even used fairy and fighting encounter boosts up to level 2 and nothing, alternatively (I have both versions) when I looked for the salamace paradox in scarlet I just used one level 1 dragon encounter booster post game and that made 10 of them to spawn, so in conclusion, these two are only available post game just thought you should know
Be careful. I went into code for Koraidon - Miraidon. After showing me a Miraidon, they attempted to trade a Murkrow.
Editing Austin reacting to Recording Austin's time consuming video demands has quickly become one of my favourite UA-camr dynamics lol
Little note iron valiant when using Fairy bonus can be found in Base 4 area Roaring Moon is a pain in the butt and the hardest imo
Courtesy of sharing both types with Hydreigon's line
Arven’s storyline was such a pleasant surprise while playing this game. Never really expected to be so invested in a Pokémon character.
For the iron thorns spawn if there aren’t any at the bottom of the slope climb up to the top. I have a 100% encounter rate there when doing that as they can spawn at both the bottom and top.

Something I noticed is that the Miraidon/Koriadon you find in Area 0 always has a Modest nature, which is good for it.
Koraidon is adamant since it is a physical attacker, but yes you are right ❤
@@kurijf-l14 hey do you want to touch trade for my Miraidon

Meanwhile battling a shiny
I'm not sure if this has been brought up in other videos, last night I was playing with my friend and we realized something about area zero. The other game's paradox pokemon aren't sparse- the encounters just work exactly like they do outside of area zero.
When my friend and I were in the same spot, I (scarlet) was seeing a bajillion iron valiants, but they would disappear if my friend left the area.
So it's perfectly feasible to shiny hunt other version exclusives, but you'd have to be on voice chat and be very well coordinated since you can't see the other player in area zero, just the spawns they attract
I appreciate that he doesn't over exaggerated his reactions. Every youtuber always exaggerated their reactions nowadays
Yes! He talks like a normal person and I am so appreciative of that!

@@nacitalatincirli793 This got me title, raid, and sparkling power 3 but not encounter
@Dd gamer But Iron Valiant has such a low spawn rate that you really need that encounter power
By the way, some of the double salty don't need to be double salty. For instance, I put ham, 1 sweet herb and 1 salty herb, and got level 3 for ground encounter, title and sparkling. So if you're missing one of the herbs, don't be scared to combine what you do have and see what it does.

@@cranberryjuice1005 doesn't affect me in anyway, I just think it's neat 🤷🏼♀️
There's a duplication glitch that will put a copy of the ride legendary in your box. It's still untradable though.
You can link 2 seperate profiles to the same pokemon home account?

That cave with the pattern (I almost am certain that the four circles are the same pattern that is on that plaque) I found like, three or four Iron Valiants.
I just had a thought while watching this video... What if in a future update or DLC, they make past and future paradox dittos for each game? Like a more metallic mercury esque ditto (probably named Iron Gloop or something) and its main purpose is it can breed with any other future pokemon,
And then for its past paradox, Its alot more of an organic blob like a mix of leaves, mud, tree sap and that sort of stuff (Probably named Natural Sludge or something) that would then breed with any other past pokemon.
Just some thoughts to throw into the void!
those ideas are all super cool! there are tons of things they can go with for the DLC, so fingers crossed
Or they release a mew for scarlet and a mewtwo for violet? would fit lore-wise
Thanks austin for your method of shiny hunting iron bundle which I managed to catch 4 shiny iron bundles
So for Sandy Shocks (and Iron Thorn I presume), I climbed up the wall where they spawn near research base 2 and found it up there on the ground too
Iron Valiant is actually pretty easy to catch with Encounter Power: Fairy. The entire last area that is like a cave system, leading up to the lab, was full of Iron Valiants for me.
In regards to your comment on shinies in co-op, I caught my first shiny of the game in co-op. A blue Noibat 💙
I tried that but I can get even one to spawn

I was about to pull off and stopped and was like “yo are one of these monkeys green or am I tripping?”
Lo n behold it was a shiny!
I got a shiny Gibble I've been hunting for 12 hours. I feel so much happiness.
I did this method and got 3 shiny Iron Hands in one hunt with no shiny charm! Thank you Austin your the goat 🐐!
was using this vid to find where Iron thorns was, went to second research station, and immediately found a full odds shiny iron bundle(no shiny charm yet)! he was the shiny I wanted most of the violet paradox pokes
I find it much easier to get iron thorn with this method.
TP at observatory 3
Go forward, right above the giant cave in front of you.
Got one thanks to your tip :)
Keep up the good content! Always glad to see a new guide :)

This is factual. My friend and I had to do this twice yesterday or We'd look for what the other person wanted and then describe exactly where we were.

It's cool that Pokémon is finally focusing on the story again, and it's actually good. Like Mystery Dungeon.
Thanks so much for this shiny method!! I got a shiny Iron Valiant and a yellow doggo in about 2 hours
You can tell how much effort you put int your videos man. You are a Legend for always making these for the community.
We do love editing Austin🤣 15:31

Me and my friend both wanted sandy shocks so the first 2 times I killed some and they didn’t spawn. Then a couple hours later I got 7 Sandy Shocks
