After 50k miles, the electric car breaks even with an ICE equivalent assuming an ALL COAL electric grid, with a more efficient grid the break even point is going to be even lower. Is cobalt mining destructive? Yes. Is it as destructive as an ICE vehicle? Not by a long shot.

But I do have to admit, for small cars making small trips (less than 10km at once) electric cars are more useful than ICE. But the king is still E-Fuels combined with ICE. Tho there is still the issue of pollution from brake dust.
