I love how wieldy the car moves, a lot of times when a supercar does a lap here, they either looks quite understeery or the backend seems to be on edge all the time. This looks perfectly balance.
Very good that AMG has started another attempt and thus improved the time. Mercedes should do the same with the AMG GT Black Series, as the record attempt took place on a wet track. This is certainly much better. Greetings from Germany 🙋🏻♂️

This was my thought as I was watching it - mad skills and course knowledge. Someone who clearly knows this track exceptionally well. Wonder how they'd do vs Max or Lewis or Lando on this track in this car. Or are they so good in a sim that they can get to a track like this and smoke this driver.

This monster is so incredibly fast the lap time looks sped up. It's safe to say that this is the king of the Nürburgring Nordschleife and will be for the foreseeable future.

Nope it's much much slower than hypercars it's just not comparable It wouldn't be reliable enough too And it's nowhere near being homologated for that category
hyper car? its 1.6Ltr turbo v6 engine. the only reason for its amazing speeds is aerodynamic and the hybrid engine. however the price tag can get it to HYPER CAR category though with only 275units and 2.1mil price tag.

Watching this, then watching old videos of for example the Paganis and the built Porches running this track. Just show how far these cars have come, from drivers who are wrestling the car to now taking the time to disect the tracks even quicker than before. Blows my mind everytime
The driver kept it smooth, i think with straight line top speed it had in previous record + Little bit pushing it in corners to its limit will make it even faster by 1 or 2 secs.

when i compare this video with another video with WET TRACK and play at the same time. the first 40 second,, the car at the wet track are faster 1 - 2 second ahead. and the top speed of the car in wet track at long straight can reach 337 KM/H but in the dry track the car just get 323 km/H at TOP. maybe there is a diferent set up of the car. if they combine the first 40 second condition and the top speed at long straight,, maybe it will get more than 6.29.. 6.25 they can reach it

Has the car been modified for more downforce? Is it a case of battery usage? Surely it's not just some mega wind direction changes.
If the road is dry you'll be able to go full-throttle for a lonmger time, what makes you quicker... but the downside is that you gonna get a higher battery usage, what let you run earlier out of SOC on the final straight ... it is something you'll see in any high performance hybrid car.
Most likely battery,if you've seen the old lap record you would find out that he is chilling at the beginning of the lap,which saves battery for the main straight

Such a clean lap! Car looks perfectly balanced...maybe front tires were getting a bit hot towards the end of the lap, but you can see the downforce working throughout. This is gonna be hard to beat...
The flaps opening up over the front wheels. Is that for downforce? Also, is that programmed when to open or based on steering input and grip required. I honestly don’t know. Otherwise, can BMW do better?
It's part of the Drag Reduction System (DRS) this is activated by the driver by pressing a button on the steering wheel. This retracts the front louvres on the wings as well as the upper aero element of the two-stage rear wing 😉

It is for the front downforce. It mitigates lift in the wheel wells by releasing pressure from there.
