Well, if it is like me, the problem is that we do not have ASD or ADHD, but we have AuDHD, that takes a bit of ASD, bit of ADHD mix it together so it hide each other. It's not like someone who is just ADHD or just ASD and almost everyone making videos is also AuDHD, but talk about ASD or ADHD as if AuDHD people represent ASD or ADHD, when they are a third group separat from those two and it creates a different life experience.
I actually wonder if "masking" is just someone being AuDHD and a bit of a red herring. Not that we don't "mask", yes, AuDHD end up masking, because THEY GET THE CHOICE in the way they can live. Someone ADHD is always chaos, someone ASD is always order, but AuDHD is stuck in this chaotic order universe, you can use it to "mask".
The whole chaos of being stuck in both points of ASD and ADHD, ive found is both a blessing and curse. Its great for being able to view a situation from multiple points of view, in my experience both logically and emotionally. However it often also makes things very difficult to process depending on how youre involved with the situation.
