Tom, you can be proud of the goals you set and met and you really raised the bar. Well done, my friend. Thank you for your friendship and for all the contributions you’ve made to the Shopsmith community and to my channel as well. I look forward to whatever is next, and I know you will do something interesting. BTW, I’m a 2XL. Scott

Thanks Scott! And thank you for you perpetual support and for helping promote the channel. I think Shopsmith is under-represented in social media and I hope some one is inspired to start a new Shopsmith channel. After all, if I can do it, anyone can.

Tom, you have performed a great service for ShopSmith owners and hobbyists. I started with a Mark 500 in 1983 and went on to more stationary tools. But still use the 500 for a variety of options. You are a fine craftsman and a caring human being. Thanks for all of your contributions to th craft.

    Tom...Tom....Tom....Tom....don't go!!!!!!
You did great content, you did great projects, you are one of the very few and Best presenters on using and utilizing the Shopsmith equipment in such an easy to follow and understand platform with the authenticity of concept to completion of the projects you shared.
Your one of the few I will truly miss. I'm hoping maybe you'll post a surprise build now and then. Please leave your channel up if possible, I constantly go back to search help with builds and Shopsmith usage if I need to figure something out. To date, you and Scott have the best content I enjoy when it's Shopsmith builds.
Thanks for everything you did for us, Good luck, Take Care, and keep using your Shopsmith as often as you can!
    Thanks,
    Jon

My wife and I canceled our cable TV 30 years ago because we got tired of the corporate influence. Every time a hobbyist UA-camr quits posting videos, those of us who ignore the corporate-sponsored jerks feel just a bit more lonely. Thanks for all you've contributed, and I hope you get to enjoy more time with your family. Peace be with you.

Tom I am very sad to see you go, I have really enjoyed your channel. So many woodworking channels are done by professionals with all their fancy and expensive tools who want to sell you something. I loved the commercial free hobbyist approach you brought. You inspired me and I will miss you, best of luck and well wishes to your family.

It was serendipity that you started your channel just as I began woodworking, having selected a ShopSmith to be the tool I’d build my workshop around. Solid, thoughtful content delivered in an entertaining and informative manner, I always enjoyed when another video would arrive. And it’s content that will persist. Most SS content is decades old with the production quality to match. Having sites like this and MGR have been the primary engines for quality, modern SS content, and for those of us still coming to this as hobbyists and SS owners, your additions to the canon will be appreciated indefinitely. Thanks, man.

I don't comment much and this is the very first video of yours I've seen, but I agree on much of what you said. As a hobbyist, seeing another hobbyist do things is that much more valuable and educational. Unique things and projects are what's awesome. It's a shame that everything has become monetized and sponsored, and a breathe of fresh air to get opinions that are based on experiences etc, instead of influenced by companies via sponsorship.

Tom, thank you so much for all you have done for both the Shopsmith community (including me) and for non Shopsmith woodworkers (poor folks). I could write much more about my admiration and respect for you and your channel, but hundreds of owners have already done that.
When I sold you your Mark 7, I had some trepidations 😊; because 1) anyone with your skills and experience could either help or hurt Shopsmith’s reputation, and 2) since the Mark 7 was new at the time, I had not yet had my own long enough to realize it’s quality and potential. I have much more experience using, recommending and selling them now.
I also had the mixed feelings when I had to put my Shopsmith video channel on pause two years ago (health issues;I plan to re-vitalize and restart my channel this year.) You, and some others like Scott Markwood, Nick Engler, Mark Adams, Norm Abrams, even some celebrities like Andy Rooney, Paul Mitchell, and the Pumpkin-Smasher Gallagher 😂have all kept the Shopsmith communities moving and growing …so again thank you and best wishes in your future endeavors! I’m really going to miss your videos. 😢 Having good Shopsmith content has been a blessing to the community. I know how much goes into the production and I hope if you do a new channel it will be rewarding for you. Thanks for all the great content and for welcoming us into your shop.

Thank you so much. Yes, I feel Shopsmith is under represented on UA-cam as well. I hope my channel inspires others to post Shopsmith content, including How-to content form Shopsmith, not just sales.

Sad to hear, my friend. I always looked forward to your videos. I know it's a lot of hard work and takes time from the family. Hopefully you can get together with Scott now and then to keep us posted on what's going on. I sure hope you pulled those shirts out of the bin! I often get frustrated with my small shop that doubles as my machine and auto repair shop, having to constantly move things around, but seeing the tight space you have actually encourages me. The Shopsmith is supposed to solve the space crunch, but I've now got 3 of them and just picked up a power stand yesterday. I can't help myself.

Hey Tom, I'm so sad to see you ending your channel, i use my Dad's 1955 Shopsmith that he gave when i bought my first house at 23 . That was 42 years ago and i just now replaced the motor. I found your channel a fw months ago and was so excited to see someone using a Shopsmith and now you are moving on.... so bummed, but as you say you completed your goals. I'm looking positively at your return in a new style shirt and new new content! Thanks so much for your channel! Greg

This is so weird. You got me into wanting a shopsmith just a month ago. I toiled over it for a month straight that has felt like forever. Last night I ordered a bunch of Festool tools and now you are not making videos anymore. It is a sign. Edit: Like, think of it. I would have ordered a shopsmith and you would not have been there anymore. Wild. Thanks for all the great, genuine content. I will still be watching other videos of yours for some time.

You can't go wrong with Festool. I think similar to Shopsmith they make as "woodworking system" that cover what is need. Best of luck!

Congratulations Tom on ending things with a sense of achievement. I'm still disappointed, but can respect your decision. I often wondered how long it takes you to complete projects because of all the additional overhead of generating video documentation. I guess that won't hold you back any longer. :) Your content will be missed as I believe you were one of the few honest woodworkers out there, actually sharing how to do things, along with the challenges involved. So many channels out there focus on talking about tools, and techniques on how to use them, but too little on actually making things. Rather than just talking about things, you actually showed us how to do it. There is so much more that I could say, but I don't want to go on forever, so I'll simply say, hats off to you sir. Good luck on your future endeavors.

I actually ran into your channel from the Paul Sellers router plane build, which I was considering making. I've enjoyed watching your videos and it's been a nice change to see a genuine hobbyist channel instead of commercial channels with large warehouses and tons of expensive toys. It's been great to see your mistakes, what you learned, and how you moved forward. Congratulations on accomplishing your goals and wish you future success! Thank you for all of the videos!
