J'ai découvert ce groupe vers 1990 au travers d'une cassette perdue de ma sœur sans savoir de quoi il s'agissait... c'était "bossanova ". Puis j'ai rencontré mon meilleur pote et il possédait " Surfer rosa". Puis une fois passionné par le groupe j'ai acheté "Doolittle" ainsi que trompe-le-monde... J'étais alors totalement envoûté et amoureux de cette musique... Puis en 1993... plus rien, le groupe se sépare. J'ai espéré une reformation sans réel espoir quand en 2004 on nous annonce une reformation inespérée. Je les ai vues aux vieilles Charrues en 2004. Puis les nouveaux albums arrivent, et toujours du putain de rock n roll et une inspiration sans faille... Les pixies sont un des plus grands groupes au monde, nous servant toujours et encore de l'inspiration, de la passion et du rêve... Keep on rocking!!!

Dave "Majic Man extraordinaire, Lovering is spot on, and keeps it moving with a pristine percussive perfection that is patently, pounded, played prodigiously. Presto! Last but certainly not least the force majeur that manifests humanistically , widely known as Paz....
I nor anyone else could have chosen another individual to form a quartet de classique'
I wouldn't refer to this blessing to band, fan, and forward onward futuristic limitless , boundless happening, happenstance, as a replacement. Shes her own, a true Pixie, through, and through. I must go as "Greens and Blues" is requisite of mas volume / decibels. Adios !

Still best catchy songs in their records from 1987 to 1991.....I don't think it is only the nostalgia effect....
I was born in 97 and didn't really get into Pixies until last year. So I can confirm it's not the nostalgia effect, they're the best.
If there was a prize for best 'Dad' drummer in a punk band it would definitely go to Dave Lovering. You are awesome Man.

03:01 - Gouge Away could last 10 minutes, I wouldn´t complain. Paz´ ever-constant bass, sounding so powerful on the surface, and there comes Santiago´s powerful guitar part from underneath: PERFECT!

They thing with this band is it's like the members just play their own thing and go off on tangents and their own solo efforts and it all clashes together and sounds awesome. One of the best in the world with lyrics to match!

I lived my youth at a time when it was thought that Pixies would become the largest rock band in the world ... 4 absolute consecutive masterpieces, the goal was achieved!
... and then, it took 15 years more and a movie (Seven) to capitalize on these same Pixies, but the "flame" was extinguished and especially, we had aged.
The rest, everyone knows !

1997 I was a senior in high school. a cop came to my house one night. I was asleep in my parents bed because they were gone visiting family. my little brother woke me up and said a cop was at the door looking for me. The cop said he wanted to talk to me because I had just gone to see a Vespa for sale that was stolen right after I looked at it. It was surreal. I told the cop I knew the guy selling it and I would never steal from him. The cop said the owner said the same thing. He asked to see my garage anyway. The garage is where I normally slept at that time and I had left my cd player on. I took him in there and it was smokey as fuck from incense and Gauge Away was blaring on the stereo and just a blue light bulb lighting the place. I am sure he thought he should search for weed but he was cool and when he didn't see the Vespa he just said ok and took off. Fun memory.

I’m 51 years old discovering this....wow....blown away, I can here every band in them, Nirvana, Pumpkins, Metallica, Radiohead, they must be the god fathers of alternative rock. Don’t know what my fav song is yet but I’m leaning towards either Gouge or where’s is my mind, can anyone tell me a better song of theirs, where the fuck have I been 🤣
Honestly just start at the beginning of their discography and listen to it all. The pixies are the history of alternative rock music.

Kim's hallmark vocals/bass left such a hole that the band didn't bother replacing her style. Instead they settled on someone who could fit in as best she can.

I love Paz and she is an awesome bass player, but 'Where Is My Mind' (and a few other songs) never sounded the same without Kim's backing vocals and sexy screams! I was at the live concert in Lisbon on June 1991... I know what i'm saying!
