There's something magical about this perfomance, especially if you know the original version (who doesn't?) The thing, that Eddie doesn't even sing some lyrics, but you still remember them, you still feel them, it's like they are still a huge part of the song, just drowned somewhere in the mix Man, the absence of some lyrics is what making this song is even better, it sounds crazy right?
The original version sounds like the events jus happened, the anger, the shock of what happened. This version is like the man or narrator describing what happened 20 years or so later. It really is a beautiful rendition.
I couldn’t agree with you more. They played this song in such heavy rotation on the radio & MTV , it’s the one PJ song I could be ok with never hearing again but then I discovered this version and fell in love with the song all over again. If any band could pull that off, it’s Pearl Jam 🤙
God this was a moment. I wasn't there but it doesn't matter. PJ played Jeremy a million times and each performance mattered to the crowd of those million nights, but THIS Jeremy happened only once. This version, like this band, is very special to my heart. Nearly 30 years on, though this only happened once, it never stopped either.
this is one of those things I remember from the original MP3 days, and at the time I thought this was how they were gonna play "Jeremy" forever. the whole not touring, no videos thing made it seem likely.
@@suryanaultrasinter6135 just depends on if you like a million cymbals a song lol, I like all their drummers in their own way, but Jack Irons is on my favorite albums of theirs
This is what Jeremy would sound like if it was on no code
Jack Irons effect.
you're so fuckin 100% fully correct
“No Jeremy” 😄
I've seen this video loads of times but never noticed this.commment before, you're completely right lol
Lmao yes, sounds like the Sometimes song
I like to think the original was it happening in the moment and this version as a memory some years later
Best version ever, that simple

Lol! I thought so too. He kind of reminds me of Forrest Gump learning to dance, lol. So cute! :P
@@Alli8833stone is the Riffmeister Extraordinaire. His moves cannot be contained.
Heard this on Pearl Jam Radio last night for the first time. I was listening to the 30th anniversary of the Temple of the Dog album release.
Welcome
The end of this performance was so intense. The band was perfectly in sync, literally brought tears to my eyes!
Hell yeah me too
This is so amazing! Pearl Jam is so creative!
Stone is the coolest cat around.
Why do I prefer this over the original?? 😭

Totally awesome!!!! 😊💓🤘✌️
The band has a full soundboard recording of this whole tour. Wonder when they will release it.
Amazing version ! This concert in Red Rocks was very special.
Stones fuckin jamming😂
Not sure it gets better than this
Gossard doing grooves like no one else can, man is a machine.
Stone tried sitting but he just couldn't
Watch your back gossart😁
Angry times
Steno in full effect
DJ Lou I get it, but you should've known big Jay was gonna roast you for this one.
Came here because of bonfire too!
Crackle, Crackle hahaha I love these comments
😂
And who is this "big jay" character and what does he want with the "Lucky Lou?
Better
Jack Irons era Pearl Jam is goated.
Lol, WTF is he doing?
I wish they had a different drummer for this one
Jack Irons is their best ever 🤣
The drumming on In My Tree is the best in the PJ catalogue imo. I’d take irons any day over that overrated simpleton, Abbruzzese. Call me crazy 🤷🏻♂️
@@KerioFive nope...i don't think so....dave abbruzezze still their best
