How can you write such a masterpiece, perform the hell out of it just once, and then casually forget about it as if it never existed? It's just beyond my reach.
from what i understand it's the only version of this song... they never sang it again apparently... so sad... but how many beautiful memories when one's young and want to impress a girl and maybe even dance before :) ... thank you PEARL JAM!!!
Oh something to remember me by Oh something to place in your hand Oh something so you will feel all grown up when you call my name Oh, i'm falling down, down... I'm falling... I don't know when i'll be up Before your call, please remember Frozen like stone, yeah He'll be flesh and blood I'll be gone Oh just a memory passing like pages in a book I'm falling down... I'm falling... I'm falling... Don't know if i'll get up You're a boy... You're a boy... You're a boy... I know why you'll be... Can't guess your side Oh no, the cry of a newborn child Can't feel the heat Of something fresh coming Can somebody hide me I cannot apolo... I cannot apolo... I cannot apologize
I'm trying to learn how to play it on the guitar and I am so glad I saw you had the lyrics I just found it.i love it and brother alone chinese is the shit and the other one about when trouble starts where does it end I started playing the drums at first after I heard the live video and then to even play video came next for me and I was hooked and I had to play something got the 10 album then the horses album which was actually five against One and then they changed the verses and I got one of the first CDs but I do not remember any of the songs I just mentioned until I turned 47 and it brings new life into me ty for the lyrics.
No way there's not a studio version somewhere, this song is too tight for something they improved on the spot. Probably just hasn't seen the light of day yet.
If I was PJ I’d release all recordings of all the shows they have recorded, for like 5 bucks each. I still love them but it’d be nice to listen to their old shows from mid 90s in good quality. 93-96 especially, which were their best live performances IMO.
Children are a gift from God. Sometimes young people fall in love so young and their lives are changed forever by the arrival of a newborn child. Every life is precious no matter the circumstance. It is about saving a soul and the essence of the "human condition".Thank you Pearl Jam.
I took her to the Lake the other day to give a ride in my boat but they wanted to charge an additional fee for all inflatables.. I told them " but she doubles as a flotation device "......
Who is still listening in 2020?? Pearl Jam best band in the world!!!
The best!
Me! Yeah, they are the best
I am. New album Gigaton kicks major ass
2021

I feel like i need to give this a standing ovation every time i listen to it. just brilliant.
How can you write such a masterpiece, perform the hell out of it just once, and then casually forget about it as if it never existed? It's just beyond my reach.
I think this song must have been too personal to Vedder.
completely agree
it became a song on The Rockfords first album.
@@solarflaresmusic9267 I know this, that song isn't bad
Yet, it pales in comparison to this one
Anybody else back on this after reading chapter one of Steven Hyden's book? I'm back in..
Yep
I'll have to try that. Thanks
4 dislikes ? What the hell is that all about. The only thing to dislike is the band has played this masterpiece only once.
There are no words to describe this performance
The greatest b side that never was
Yes I think is the best time of band more criative, but PJ forever
from what i understand it's the only version of this song... they never sang it again apparently... so sad... but how many beautiful memories when one's young and want to impress a girl and maybe even dance before :) ... thank you PEARL JAM!!!

Great work! I believe it's "so you can feel all grown up when you become a man"
This song is so sad. 😢
Unbelievably found and heard this for the first time today....thanks to Steven Hyden for writing about it 'Long Road'
I read the lyrics on a website. it sounds like he's singing from the point of view of his biological father, speaking to Vedder as a child
Jack Irons as a fine red wine. What a classy percusionist.
one the most emotional lyrical and musical pieces in rock history!
Beautiful; will they ever play it again?
beautiful!!!!
Mike’s fill adds soul to this song

Ojalá la toquen en vivo de nuevo. Increíble el feeling que hay en esta canción.

I pray that I am there when they play this in concert again
This is the only time played..would be amazing if they played it again
No way there's not a studio version somewhere, this song is too tight for something they improved on the spot. Probably just hasn't seen the light of day yet.
Perhaps recorded during the No Code sessions but never came around
it became a song on The Rockfords album

Wrong, offspring is the result of evolution during millions of years, since the first bacterias until now.
More beautiful song , tears from PJ
Thx, and it can change me again.
Pearl Jam prenait clairement une autre dimension avec Jack Irons, amha...
when this was originaly written what era do you think it was? vs, ten, vitalogy, no code
It's 1995, so Merkin Ball, i like to think it's one of the first songs written with Jack
WHO IS ON DRUMS HERE?
Jack Irons
That was such an amazing performance....
It really lifted my spirits since my inflatable girlfriend sprang a leak, I wish I had a patch kit....
A conversation between his father , his mom and himself...
I took her to the Lake the other day to give a ride in my boat but they wanted to charge an additional fee for all inflatables..
I told them " but she doubles as a flotation device "......
Jackie....
Think it was written about the Michael Douglass movie “falling down” think they were fans of the movie
I think it was just written for Eddies unborn baby
@@iridescent9254 I think it is about Eddie's father leaving him as a child.
scarlett Johansson track 3 scarlett wrote a lot songs for pearl jam for alantis morrsette and Andrew sitek also liked pearl jam
Joshua Wilkes I don't know what the hell you're saying.
He was probably drunk as shit when he wrote that 😂
