Helpful tip: place a small rag or paper towel at bottom of opening so if you drop one of the nuts it won't fall down into the door requiring you to pull the door panel off and try to fish it out.
Mystery Meat: Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I will always use this tip whenever I encounter this situation, if I remember it. My memory is not too good these days.
Thank you! Very very easy to follow your instructions. Camera angles were great because i was able to watch every step clearly. Aside from dropping one of the screws and it fell inside the door (sigh), I just went and got replacement nut and washer and it was done! Thanks again!
thank you! I am going to try this at an auto wrecker's today, with a baby and two other kids in tow. I wish my husband had time to do it, but he just doesn't and i need it fixed. Hopefully this will help me do it myself. I really apppreciate videos like this that are clear to follow and zoom right in to show exactly what's needed.
@@jamesortmann6587 I care because @stephanie fehler took the tine to learn and try fixing it herself! She could spend her life putting comments to put others down. Who would ever do that???
Thanks, I bought mirrors for my Silverado because your prices and shipping were reasonable, I didn't know about the video but now I have seen it, I feel even better about my purchase! By the way, the mirrors arrived exactly when promised and I'm installing them tomorrow.
Thank you for this video. It looks so easy and I am confident that this is a simple process. I can do it no problem and You have put me completely at ease. Should only take about 30 to 45 minutes. Easy breezy.
I need to put the mirror that simply fell off & hanging by wires back on, Do I glue it? Or does it just snap back in place? Just the mirror itself Not the housing.
Cluster is SUPER easy. Put parking brake on, turn key to accessory position but DON'T START THE ENGINE!! Move the gear selector all the way down to low gear position (remember, engine is NOT running, right?) and tilt the steering column all the way down. Now, with the shift lever and steering wheel out of the way, you can reach forward and grasp the wide piece of trim that goes around your radio and gauge cluster. Give it a firm tug outward and you should get it partially unlatched. Just pull it all the way loose and it comes out really easy from behind the steering wheel. Use a 1/4" long extension and a 7mm socket to remove the cluster. Just remember the harness that connects to the cluster isn't very long, so be delicate with it. Try facing the cluster straight down in order to get a firm grip on the connector behind it. Don't over tighten the screws when you put it back in.
If I ordered some towing mirrors for my 2000 chevy silverado do i have to do any thing with the wiring? It said its a perfect fit and no modifications needed but just wanted to know if i have to do anything with the wiring since it has turn signal on the mirror
At :58 seconds: your electrical "connector" came off without any problem. Why is mine difficult to disconnect? What can I do if I can not get the wires to disconnect at that connection point?
Boy, I wish my 1999 Chevy Suburban 3/4 ton passenger side mirror was that easy! The opening to the 3 bolts/nuts is so small there is NO way a straight socket extension would work. You can't even hope to get a hand in there. I bought a flexible socket extension but even that was too large for the opening. I am considering drilling a hole through the door where each nut is so I can use a straight socket extension.

Theres a little plastic clamp on it that keeps them together you probably arent pulling it up all the way.
The fokin radiator !!! Hahahahahah
