Great review. I actually own 2 of these figures. One to pose with ED209, and the other for the docking station. When I received my second robocop the hip joint was broken in the box. That gave me a good opportunity to look at the inside of the hip joint, and let me say its not built for durability. Very fragile in the hip joints, but still an awesome figure. All figures and statues are not perfect from side show to medicom, threeA, and even hot toys. Take care and thx again for the review
I hear yea. I do the same. I was recommended by another collector to use shin-etsu silicone on my ED209 dome, but I put some on all my figures with rubber especially there joints. It protects from cracking & ware down. Take care
I was seriously considering picking this piece up until I saw your review about how there is barely any dicast in the figure. Thank you for the review you saved me a bunch of money. I'm a huge robo cop failed and I am very disappointed in not being able to purchase this piece now. Hopefully another company comes out and those a die cast figure with way more die cast pieces
Diecast doesn't always mean better quality. This is perhaps the best Robocop figure ever made. I think you'd be making a mistake not getting it, especially if you're a fan. This figure and the battle damaged two pack are fantastic figures.
19:09 Chin strap/guard can be removed so no force is necessary on the face to prevent any scratching around the chin area caused by the chin strap. No video I've seen on UA-cam shows this done properly. None have shown the removal of the chin strap. Do people not read instruction manuals anymore? It's better and easier to remove or attach the face piece once the chin strap is removed, thus preventing any scratches on the chin area.
@@KoolKollectibles It's actually shown pretty clearly along with a picture. You just pull the sides of the chin guard away from the face. Pretty simple actually. Its very similar to the removal of the chin guard on the vintage 15" Toy Island Robocop figure that I also have.
I think you may want to have a good look at the socket in that left shoulder that's not holding that arm on, it maybe cracked which is why its not staying on, someone had the same issue with the neck, you may want to return it. Nice Detailed review BTW:)
Holy shit, I took a closer look and carefully compared both sides, and I can clearly see a stress fracture at the back of the clear plastic piece of the socket!! The hairline crack extends to the front of the socket. Will send a pic and see if they can send a replacement! I dont want that crack getting worse!
That's what I was thinking was going on, at least you caught it early so you should be able to get it replaced, that's to much money to spend to get a broken figure.
I remember something strange about it's activiation time. But I always remove the batteries after testing them when I unbox. I actually hate electronic features on my figures as it's just another thing that can be faulty and doesn't really add much when I display my figures in a glass cabinet.
The model of batteries needed is shown in the instruction manual. Just take that to any hardware or battery store and you should be able to get them easily. But not really worth the effort to be honest. I hate electronic features on my figures.
Perhaps you're right... But I don't see why the chest piece shouldn't be diecast given that it's a part that doesn't need to articulate... You know what I mean?
@@samuelwwr1 I dont think it really matters all that much. Once you get the figure in hand and see how good it is, the fact the chest isnt diecast means very little. There are many more positives to the figure that outweigh the few negatives.

Mine had a cracked shoulder joint, but once the figure was replaced, it's been very sturdy over the past few years. It's held up very well in terms of quality and likeness to even more recent figures.

Thanks for watching! Yeah I tend to just pick a pose and not move these figures too much. Would hate to break it down the line.

Austin Lemaster Hmm, thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the info, and thank god I didn't buy it, I'm really big on durablilty, I bought the ED209 though, thanks.

@@KoolKollectibles damn. I will definitely reconsider. I have the play arts kai robo cop original and the 2014 one. I love them both

Yes, I've been told about that now. Not sure the instructions were perfectly clear in that regard, but I'll check again.

TheSkullReviews Thanks so much for pointing it out! I posted a couple of pics on OSR (are you a member there?)
No but I seen your post over on sideshow freaks, glad I was able to help and I hope you get it replace quickly.
TheSkullReviews Cheers, thanks again for your advice!
Let me know about the sound feature ? Dosent stay active long right ? U have to turn off and on again to reset it ?

I need this in my life!
It's a great figure for sure!
@@KoolKollectibles It sure is. Thanks for the review!
How much was the retail price on this one?
About USD$270 during its retail run.
Wow...I have seen toy Robocops that have better quality than this piece from Hot Toys. Very depressing.
Not worth $270.
@@truthhurts7742 Really? Where?
Just wondering if anyone knows if the pose ability of the figure allows you to have one arm in the air to recreate his classic shooting stance?
Yes it certainly does! I posted a pic on the kk Facebook page recently of a similar pose! :)
is it possible to remove the battery without the magnet tool? i thjnk i misplaced it
I think the tool just makes it easier. You should be able to just use fingers or another small magnet.
Cyberdyne Systems Model 101!

Great review mate really enjoyed it. Do checkout my review on this figure and let me know your thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Will definitely check out your vid!
Where can I get this and how much is it?
This is long sold out at retailers. Best place is probably ebay now.
@@KoolKollectibles oh ok! How much was it when you got it?
@@bigbrownhead I think it retailed for about USD$270 but I'm sure the ebay price is far higher than that.

Sorry, I dont understand what you've written.
Oh come on... The Chest piece isn't diecast??? >:(
No, it's a plastic swap out piece with the battle damaged chest piece. I don't think it really makes too much of a difference.

This is a very crappy cheap piece. Not worth it.
