Damn, it's crazy seeing this video is now 4 years old, and the figure almost 10!! It feels like I only watched this for the first time only a few months ago. Stunning work Dean, some of your best, Robocop clearly brings the best out of you.
Yeah the articulation is outstanding. Definitely still a highlight of my collection. I had my Robocop sitting in his chair for about a year, then I put him in a free standing firing pose since then and he hasn't toppled. It may sound risky but he's actually quite stable without the stand and I haven't had any issues. It is a masterpiece by Hot Toys. Still waiting for a Hot Toys RoboCain. We got ED-209, I don't see why we can't have Robocop's other arch nemesis as well. Robocop was the first R rated movie I ever saw at the impressionable age of 13. Robocop and its sequel are awesome. Robocop 3... the less said about that the better. lol
Such a badass figure and movie. They filmed this incredible movie in my hometown of Dallas. My Dad actually worked at the liquor store where the armed robbery took place. So when I was 7 years old I got to see Robocop in theater for my first desensitizing movie experience.
Man.....the production of this whole video Is excellent.i watch a lot of figure review channel and he just blew them all out of the water with this quality.
Great review mate! The gun is the "Auto 9" Beretta m93R machine pistol which was heavily modified for the film with a compensator and many other parts.
You are right about Robocop figure being a classic, it sure is and I remember buying this 6 months ago and my eyes popped out of my head, I know that the colour of the metal armour is the wrong colour as it should have been Gun metal like in the movie but I'm glad that Hot Toys made this in silver as it stands out more when the light hits it and if they had made this in gun metal the light would not reflect the same way. Now if there was ever a fire in my house this is the figure I would pick up first, then my Carlito's Way figure which is also a classic, made by Blitzway..
Murphy’s death scene traumatized me as well when I watched this movie in the 80’s. HT Robocop is the best representation of him in any scale IMO. Just timeless-
I received my hot toys Diecast Robocop 1/6 scale figure today and bloody hell what an amazing figure it is it’s just awesome the detail is insane and how they have got the true likeness of peter weller I am just blown away with it. Going to have years of enjoyment out of this wow wow wow.
What a great film Robocop is. The scene where he revisits his old home, when his memories flicker back into existence always gets me. The soundtrack is stunning at that point too, as it is later on, when Robocop rides the elevator to confront Dick Jones. Awesome figure! I actually like that Hot Toys made him more silver than blue, the blue cheapened his look to my eyes. The Battle Damaged version is arguably even more impressive - given the complexity of the head sculpt and the insane amount of detail.. This is a Rolls Royce of a figure. Whilst you can personally prefer other figures to it, I do not believe that one can say that another figure is objectively better than it.
It is a great movie and not just another simple, violent action film from the 80's. Releasing during the golden age of video rentals no doubt helped it's cult status. In fact my uncle owned a sucessful video rental business and I will always remember that iconic poster of Robocop exiting his car stuck to my uncle's shop window. I absolutely agree on the music and especially the two pieces you mentioned. Composed by Basil Poledouris, who also composed probably the greatest movie soundtrack on Conan the Barbarian.
I enjoyed reading your comment Goblin Kid. I had that very poster (if my memory serves me correctly, he looked more silver in that picture than he did in the film) on my wall when I was a little kid. I had the Robocop game on my ZX Spectrum 128k, and then I had this music demo on my Atari ST (which was very impressive back in the day): ua-cam.com/video/FvZjPwdvn3k/v-deo.html Going back to the film, I think that its greatest strength was that it had so much soul. It could have so easily been one of those simple, violent films of the time -- like you said -- but thanks to the writing, direction, performances, music..... it was so much more. I watched the 2014 edition the other night, and whilst it is a competent film with a great cast, it felt so bland in comparison, and as with so many films today, had yet another easily forgotten soundtrack.
When it was released I wanted to get the mech chair combo but could only afford the figure itself. One of my favorite hot toys figure hands down. Recently found a deal on the mech chair and sold off my figure only set. Thanks for the excellent review and a reminder how great of a figure this is.
I have this one because of your previous review and making it as your number 1 toy on that year..and i absolutely like it when it came into my hands. One of the best in my collections. Keep up the good videos!
Just picked this guy up today off FB. Got a great deal on him too. Worked out pretty well because I was watching an auction on him that went for $245, but realized I didn't have the funds to bid, but got him for less than that.
I watched robocop and predator for the first time with my parents on vhs straight after each other , I was about 9 or 10. The Shit they used to let me watch
Hello Dean, I love your reviews and always value your opinion. I was finally able to pick one of these brand new I am so stoked for it to arrive. I was reading on some posts that this figure has some issues with the arm socket, like it will crack or break? Have you had this issue. Thanks for your time Dean. Love your videos man.

It's a classic and it still holds up, you would think this figure was made yesterday, that goes for some of the other Hot Toys figures as well.
Murphy’s death scene traumatized me as well when I watched this movie in the 80’s. HT Robocop is the best representation of him in any scale IMO. Just timeless-
I have this piece since almost 4 years now and still love it!
you take the absolute best photographs man, you have a way of truly bringing them to life......Keep it up man💯

Still a top quality figure , even when compared to hottoys new releases.
masterpeace
Intriguing replica though expensive. It's going for 700--1200 dollars now on Ebay; out of my range.
Do MMS117 please
Did a repose last night when watching this. You had to bend the waist grabber right. The extras I have are too tight
Good
I was the first like on this video! 😄
I'd buy that for a dollar!
Their company built the fucking thing, now we gotta deal with it.
