I ran across a fake Mexican coin one Sunday. Lucky for me I had a magnet on me. I had already paid for it and had to take it back. I got my money back. However I should have known something was up because of the price they were asking for it. If its to good to be true it probably is. Thanks for sharing AU.
Love these and the real ones have an unmistakable feel but this is good information regardless. Fantastic coin. Great relief on the reverse and really has some silver weight. Great vid

well i suppose if you look on the dreaded ebay site you can see fake gold and silver sold for a few pounds , the sad thing is these are then introduced into the market place by certain people who will rip you off . i do try to go through at least 3 tests when buying and only off someone who has 100 plus sales, although thats not always safe ... be well and cheers from uk x

it was a really bad fake ( probably done 20-30 years ago) nowdays if you buy 2000+ american silver eagles the magnets don't even work( or bery low), or any new silver coins for that matter. And the weights are getting almost identical , personally I use the magnet but I have 15 inch slider with neo 52 strong magnets ( you can lose a finger setting this up) Normally a silver eagle takes around 12.5 to 13 seconds to complete the drop but fakes usually are less than 12 seconds. The longer the slider the better, sliding on a small slider or just a magnet on the coin wont find fakes now days.

@@MetalBum I like to use one the size of a pencil eraser or CyberCurtainTwicher has a Coin Slide that he sells, I have a beautiful one he made, another thing would be a scale so you could look up the precise weight or do a specific gravity test.
