My Dad used to keep a 2 dollar bill in his wallet and he said it was for good luck. Back then you could buy a pack of cigarettes for .20 cents. So 2 dollars in your wallet made since just in case. I remember getting 2 dollar bills when getting paid while I was in the Marine Corps, really never thought about it much back then. Thanks for then info.👍❤️🇺🇸

I recently acquired a collection of old bills. They were all printed during the depression. I have almost every year. One bill I have is a $50 bill. Someone told me that the 50 is worth more than all the bills combined. I haven’t had it appraised yet, but I’m excited to do that. I’m still searching for at 1939, to make the collection complete. All the bills have random amounts so I know it’s not worth that much, but someone has offered me a substantial amount for the 50. The $50 bill is from 1934.
I used to work at the airport and Steve Wozniak pull out a book of two dollar bills and ripped out a couple and gave them to me as a tip. I still have them

I have a sheet (32) of uncut $2.00 bills. How much is it worth?
Thst information is a load of crap. I had a ton of them . I went to a number of.coin collectors. That one bill might be a rarity. All other 2 dollar bills are worth only $2.00

I have a $2 bill where the front is offset from the back. The back is almost perfectly centered and the front is set down to where barely any white is showing. Is this worth having it looked at for a price?
So is that for all bills that the plate # on both front & back needs to match??

And the longer you hold on to them they'll continue to lose value due to inflation. At 3% inflation, that $200 in $2 bills will be worth only $100 in 2043 compared to 2023 dollars. Better to invest that $200 in something that will either hold it's value or produce income.

Most banks are too lazy to go in their vault and see what they got. I don't know how it is here in maryland but a lot of bank tellers are lazy... And we'll lie just so they don't have to get up😑 But not all is lost I still have fun bill hunting

I have 10 $2 dollar bills that are 70 years old that my mother received at the time of my birth. The only thing that changes is the last number in the serial number. The numbers run 01,02,03,04 and on.
The $2 bills haven't been in circulation that long to my knowledge. At least not with Jefferson.

I need to go look at my $2 bills again. I do have one from the 50's, with the Monticello on it, but sadly, it is held together with a piece of scotch tape...not mint condition...interested if it is worth anything...
On a side note, I do have a russian bill from 1947 in mint condition...I wonder what THAT is worth....(internet says anywhere between $497 and $147...)

I remember Americans saying "phoney as a $2 bill" while Canadians used to say "phoney as a $3 bill." I hadn't seen a US $2 bill till the US Bicentennial in 1976 when they were everywhere. That always made me think US currency didn't include $2 bills till 1976 but apparently they had them for ages. Did they just not use them much in circulation?
So bill circulation is dependent on printing, which in turn is dependent upon demand. $2 bills have always had the lowest demand and so they aren't printed very much. The reason why you suddenly saw $2 bills in 1976 is because the treasury stopped printing them in 1966 because of such low demand for them. They were reintroduced for the Bicentennial and gained some popularity for a while so the treasury continued issuing them again. Their demand is still very low so they aren't printed every year like other bills but as far as I know there aren't any plans to discontinue them. Considering the current value of $1 usd, I could see a $2 bill being more useful now as it is harder and harder to buy anything for a dollar or less anymore.
