Reminiscent of the old TG days (2013?) when the videos they'd post on youtube had hoooorrrible music and voice volumes so you couldn't hear anything.
It’s like I’m watching a Discovery channel show where there’s something being discussed, and I can’t tell what it is because they insist on having SIK RIFFZ playing in the background endlessly.
Audio engineer should turn down the music even more...

i've noticed most of the drive tribe videos have bad sound. they should listen to these on headphones before posting them

Only because he was on a sled and not in the car. But I thought they showed quite a bit actually of his journey. Considering it’s Top Gear
True we didn't, but he is very small and was often quite far away.

Worst experience: "all the bits where I was conscious and they were there"

My favorite moment is when Richard rejoined the team after his first crash. It was emotional and epic.

Yeah he’s modernised it a bit but it’s still Oliver. It’s got modern brakes and stuff but it’s the definition of unreliable. But he taught his daughters to drive in it
When he said "talking to a mop with a face on it", I thought he was talking about James.

If you have watched it or not top gear did a video with lego back in the day where james may lost his hair peice so he put a mop on his head instead

I love how they always say the worst part of making stuff together is being together. Who are they fooling, we all know they love each other.
They do but they spend weeks and weeks together in usually not very nice environments. There's going to be tension and they'll get sick of each other
one can only truly hate something if one has loved it first

Being small, everything becomes colossal very quick.
These three men have travelled the length and breadth of the world. Just stating a fact here. I think they have shown us more of the world more than any other tv show.

@@anthony2816 and also that whole special was pretty lame. They said Hammond was out in the middle of nowhere but James and Jeremy stayed in a hotel that was 10 minutes away from where Hammond was....Yea it's all for fun
pyrotechnick Are you thinking of the episode where Hammond was stuck on a mountain? There’s very few hotels in the Arctic, none that I know of.
@@Snark900 I implore you to rewatch that episode. Especially the end where Jeremy explains how he just stayed at a hotel and how Hammond is 10 minutes away from said hotel. Its subtle but glaring at the same time
pyrotechnick you’re thinking of the wrong special. The Polar Special is a race between a snow sled and a car across the arctic
In the bolivia special, Jeremy left you two alone with the brocken Landcruiser and survived the deadliest road in the world. You and May had to Drive there at night, so how did you survive it? They didn't really show that in the special.

Hamster I am so proud of you for keeping Oliver. I remember you during that adventure saying you were going to keep him but I just thought 'they always say that those telly stars....' But then I saw your lockdown tour of the yard and there he was in all his glory. First time I'd seen him since the adventure hit our screens. Nice one mate......
Hammond could make an hour version of these stories and it would be one of the best videos on YT.

I remember the Bolivia one. "There's something in here. Its SQUEAKING at me!" I don't know why but Richard reminded me of Richie from Bottom when he was waving his arms around shouting "I can't stand that. I've gotta get out!" LOL

I think Hammond's experiences are the most interesting.
I think it's because he's a bit more humble. The other two tell interesting stories but always have to make a joke or be a bit mean to someone else while telling it. That is funny a lot of the time, but does mean that Hammond's stories are more relatable.
He wrote about this in a book! Just so you all know! It's called "as you do"

They must have used the mixer from the early TG seasons. Lol. That always irritated me when they had the music and car sounds drowning out the voiceovers.
When they left TG, they brought the TG's sound editor with them.

I'm amazed Hamster can remember anything after number of crashes he's had...
Amnesia is strange. Obviously what you don't remember at all is just gone and you can't miss it. But most of it is not as simple as totally lost or there, which is 'entertaining'.
The brain tries to claim what it can, so if you have parts of a memory it will try to fill in the gaps. You also end up with memories where you are actually remembering what others have told you which doesn't always agree and gets confusing when your brain has tried patching you into it.
The most bizarre part I have noticed is that your brain puts you in the constructed memory at the age you are then. So you can play back a partially constructed childhood memory where you become an adult for a section, which is your only clue.
This is personal experience, others will have encountered different symptoms that either I didn't or didn't realise until it was pointed out.
Or the amount of Gin Tonics he’s had :p

Heck yes. This was going to be my last video before going to bed, but it ended with THAT story. And so, being an arachnophobe, it's now the small hours of the morning and I've never been more awake!
I think everyone wouldve preferred to watch Hammond get dragged on his face lets be honest

I could probably listen to all three of them just talk about their memories and reliving their experiences for hours. Such a huge part of my life growing up and I always felt like I was the unnoticeable fourth member, it’d be like reliving my youth again.
Just imagine the stuff we haven't seen from all the years of TG and TGT.

2:15 - Botswana has been my home for two years now, live in the Okavango Delta. The Pans are also amazing - its my most favourite place in the world.

My first introduction to Top Gear was the Botswana special and I thought " I love these three nincompoops together!" and have been a fan ever since. I love that Hammond still has Oliver. To this day when I lose something important to me - whether car keys or a plant that dies I scream "OLIVER!"
I'm from and Live in Botswana. Always happy to hear that the Botswana Special was the best.

One of my favorite is when they dropped you on a mountain in Canada and Jeremy and captain slow got in there pickups and had to find you.
Love when the guys take some time to film these random segments. I just finished watching The Grand Tour for the second time.

I love TG/GT. I love any behind the scene stories. My favorite TG episode was the 24 hr endurance with the diesel BMW.
That was a really great episode it became quite emotional at the end with Jeremy shedding a few tears at how well they'd managed to do considering the problems they'd had if I remember correctly.
the best top gear bit that was edited out was richard and james driving upto the north of scotland in the porche and when you both kept turning on each others heated seats to full blast when yous were not looking, thats a hilarous video
I wish more of the drive tribe episodes were like this. Also, I'm going through withdrawals because it's been so long since I've seen a new episode of the grand tour.
It's so bad in my case that I had to start a binge from TG Season 1 (2002).
@@PetarJovanovic993 I think by now I've seen every season of Top Gear (the seasons with Jeremy and co. ) at least 3 times. It's possible I'm addicted to the show lol.

how did I miss this? the behind the scenes stories are great. More from all of them would be nice, Also just having the un edited version to go and watch would be amazing.
I want to hear more from Hammond, in fact i could watch him speak for hours like we already do in his BIG series and all of the other bits and pieces. Hammond tell us more about these stories of spiders and insects that motorboat on your face. Also your bits that you made on your home were brilliant. Evrything is welcome.

Actually his streak of not being fired is still going I think. Technically he was never fired from the BBC. They just let his contract expire and then chose not to renew it.
