@Cassundra Wells. If you feel like I disrespected you or Bro. Khalid I humbly apologize. I was merely stating what I feel I saw. What I saw was an extremely strong brother attempt to explain the turmoil that was going on at that time. As he explained the turmoil, the words and phrases he used struck a cord with me of a brother calling out to his spiritual father for understanding. That brother, who was always in ready mode was still a man and he hurt like any other person would hurt when their spiritual or biological father has chastised them. Again, I agree he was on ready but I also could feel his pain. Showing hurt isn't always a sign of weakness, sometimes is shows reverence and love you have for the person you are having dealings with. I'm going to end the way I began. I didn't know about this brother until recently and I was raised in the NOI for 12 years. The whispers in the ranks he brought on the stage with NO FEAR and his loss without so much as a word from the minister before his passing really hurts me as someone who looks up to him.
Don't know where you were as the Minister grieved deeply for the loss of Dr. Khallid. I came in under Dr. Khallid. There's a lot of people who don't know because it was and still is not the topic of conversation. The fact that you didn't hear much about it from the Muslims is due to our adherence to the Restrictive Law, which is a good thing.

And no homo -- one of the most beautiful brothers I had ever laid eyes on. As someone too young to see Malcolm speak -- as I yearned to be alive during his era; years later I realized that via brother Khalid, I experienced the spirit of El Hajj Malik Shabazz.
