Im surprised that there wasnt enough sweetness, even tho literal candy was blended into the alcohol xD. Rather expected it to be way too sweet...funny

My head-canon involves samurai-Greg being a master of a drunken-katana style while samurai-Meredith mastered a style in which she carried extra katanas during a fight for use as distractions or ranged attacks; Hence why Greg recalled "katanas: everywhere" and hence why his only logical conclusion to ". . . we fought each other to a standstill . . . and finally, exhausted, I said 'I respect you too much to kill you' " was "Come make a drinks show with me."
I love seeing Greg say he’s sober and then seeing him immersion blend peach rings and shitty vodka together…that right there is a drunk person’s methodology.
Sometimes you're drunk off alcohol, and then sometimes you're just so angry it makes you inebriated; I think Greg was a fair way into the latter after those disgusting cocktails last episode.

From experience, when using gummy candy to make a liquor, it works better if you melt the candy in a double boiler before adding to the base spirit.

It's very common to make candy shots in nordic countries. The three most common candies used are probably tyrkisk peber, fishermans friend and lakrisal or another heavy on the ammonium chloride salty licorice. 150-300 g for 0,5 l of vodka.

In high school, we had to make ad videos for whatever we wanted. Some of classmates made a horror movie-based ad for an immersion blender!
I love these. Reminds of when I was younger and the assigned drink mixer for our group. Basically they would buy a liquor and I would mix different things till we liked something.
You should give us a tour of the set! It would be so cool to see how everything is put together for your filming 👌
Soaking the peach rings in vodka and then immersion blending them reminded me of waaaay back in the day when I made Lime Skittles vodka. I may have made it TOO concentrated, all the Lime Skittles from a what is it 2 and a half pound bag. Dumped them in a bottle and filled with Absolute, shook it and then after like a week or two I strained it and poured it through coffee filters.
It was so thick but it was also so neon green. And very LIME.
I have a statistical quantum mechanics exam in an hour, and now I wish I just went to film school. That sounds so much more fun.
People with real industry experience make the best teachers. One of my college professors was a retired engineer from Bell Labs. He was working there in the 70's and 80's, back when Bell Labs was the absolute cutting edge of telecom, and technology in general. He taught optics, and we spent like 75% of the class just messing around with lasers. The main reason I got my first real job was because I took that class.

The only immersion blender adjacent kill I can remember is in You’re Next (watch it. Love it) was she kills someone with a blender that the container broke off of. Puts the running blade into someone’s skull.

My film school experience was so similar. The highlights were selling a short film and getting a teacher fired.
Although, I will give them credit, most of the teachers were in between projects while they taught. Not that it mattered since the school itself... didn't do much for the students.
I think the reason it was so thick was the stabilizers in the candy. If it had been a long gentle extraction, the stabilizers in the peach rings themselves wouldn't have leeched out. But, because you blended it, they did. A quick google told me that peach rings have modified potato starch and gelatin, but I wouldn't be surprised if Xanthan gum and corn starch were part of it as well.
Greg. I just had the 1st daiquiri of my life. I used a 0.75oz pour of simple, per your suggestion. Used an Appleton estate Jamaican rum. It’s the best cocktail I’ve ever made. Blew the socks off any whiskey sour I’ve made ever.

4:50 Don't know about an immersion blender being used as a weapon in a horror movie, but a regular blender was put to good use in the movie You're Next. The pitcher had to be broken to make it feasible, though.

For most of these you need to throw the candy in and leave it for… a long time. You want the entire candy dissolved into the base. Another note if you have to pair the candy and the base carefully, some do Not go together, others are magical, and exact brand does often matter. Finally yes, you want the final drink to taste like the candy, but with side notes, not your typical “no desert drink” standard. If you get a sugar buzz you did it right
Tip: heat the candy up first and warm the drink and it will make a better job of dissolving it fast, you can then cool it after it has melted. In some cases this may be a couple hours, most a couple days to a week or two. Do mix regularly

The one that I personally would like to try is where the guy put a bunch of Werther Original hard candies into a mason jar then filled it with rum. Let it sit for a week until the candies dissolve then drink.

You need a polar solvent for sugar, dissolve the candies in water and use it to proof down everclear.
