Awesome day!!! Suprised the timbers are out already! Nice
We had a few warm days in a row up here which got stuff out I think. Almost all of them looked muddy so I think they just emerged that day.
Great video! Loved the snapper’s, painted’s, and the Timbers were awesome! Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Dark looking timber, how cool compared to the more yellow one. Another kick butt vid with soooo many finds. I'm moving back east. lol
I love how diverse looking our timbers are in my area, the yellow ones that turn black towards the tail are my favorite phase! Thank you! Haha I'll switch you places, a lot of lifers I need out west!
awesome! that you spotted Timbers before you spotted any Garters
Haha, yeah that certainly was a first for me!
Haha that turtle was waiting on you! Cool video buddy nice timber!
Thank you!
Timber rattles are definetly one of the most beautiful rattlesnakes species
Definitely! Love how variable this species can be!
I frequently herp at the C&O canal towpath. A lot of awesome creatures come right out on the towpath on warm summer nights. I just fed my pet 5 lined skinks some red runner cockroaches earlier today. They really love them. My skinks live in a huge Rubbermaid bin outside but I bring them on my back porch during the winter. My back porch is enclosed and I keep a small heater on for them. They stay cold enough to hibernate but not freeze. The temperature doesn't get below 40 degrees Fahrenheit on my porch.
Yeah, the towpath is quite good for herping!
Very enjoyable video, thanksss
Thank you!
That first Timber was a tank. Would love to see it after a fresh shed!
There used to be absolute giant female here a few years ago. By far the biggest rattlesnake I've ever seen!
Love a good rattlesnake!
They are my fav!
@@wiredwilderness4431 you are my fav!
Good stuff! 15 species of herps is pretty solid!
Yep! Actually by the end of the second day I had seen/heard 25 species! Wish I could have got more on film!
@@wiredwilderness4431 wow, that is awesome!! What percentage of total herpetofauna of Maryland is that, I wonder? Do you know?
Loved the video! I'm in Phoenix so the species of animals you're finding don't live around here. Those Eastern Timber Rattlesnakes were awesome! They're so big and heavy-bodied.i thought they were becoming endangered. Is that the case? If so, I really hope they're making a comeback. I really liked the video a lot and look forward to more. And I'm a new subscriber. Keep up your herping!
Unfortunately, yes they are becoming endangered. At least here in Maryland they are but I'm sure its the same for all of their range. Thank you so much for subscribing and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Phoenix! I'm south in Tucson. I'm with you, cool to see the species on the east coast, a lot different than the stuff we have out here.
