Beautiful video today. Thanks
Thank you!
Amazing video! Awesome finds! Congrats on the lifers!
Thanks so much!
Fantastic selection, so many species in one video 👌👍! Very cute frogs, jumping snake, amazing nighthawk, and poor turtle.
Thank you! Definitely some cool species!
That Cottonmouth was awesome. I’m going to North Carolina this summer and that is my main target to find while I’m there. Great video!
Thanks! Hope you find one! I'll be heading to NC in two weeks so hopefully I can find some myself!
Houston! Have really good friend who lives there, great place to herp. Congrats on the lifer cotton. We have med geckos living outside our front door, I gauge how the night is going to go based on their activity. lol Cool birds, I'm learning the AZ birds slowly. Merlin helps a ton. Looked like a sweet trip.
Definitely a great trip! Houston did have some herps but I certainly don't enjoy that city! Got my car window smashed in and wallet stolen when I was there in February! AZ is by far one of my favorite states to bird in! Definitely will go back to TX when I've got more time to herp! Hard being a birder and a herper, those two things usually don't work well together.
@@wiredwilderness4431 Feel that big city vibe, we were back in Denver for a few days, not my jam anymore. Bummer about the smashed window and wallet. "/ AZ rocks for birds. Hanging out with a good friend who's a top birder in CO in a few days. He's also an accomplished herper. Not sure how he keeps it going, burning the candle at both ends.
That moccasin is legit! You found a great selection of fogs and toads! That gecko was wearing you out! I will always applaud wildlife! Great birding clips!
Thank you!
I hope you get a chance to explore more of Texas. Ecologically, south Texas is completely different than east Texas. West Texas is a desert. As a proud Texan, I could go on and on. Red-eared sliders are probably the most common species of turtle throughout the eastern two-thirds of the state. Great video!
Thank you! I got to see a lot of Texas back in February on a birding road trip I did! I've been to all 4 corners of the state but it's so big I still have a lot to see! It's an amazing state for birding, I'll need to come back at a time when I can focus more on herping!
@@wiredwilderness4431 If you make it to the TX Hill Country in early spring, you can find the threatened golden-cheeked warblers. Now, if you head on south toward the Rio Grande Valley you can spot green jays and great kiskadees. I’ll keep an eye out for more videos from you. Thanks!
Hope you got to see some Green jays too. Congrats on the lifers!
Thank you! And yep, got to see multiple Green Jays! Such cool birds!
Brown anoles are taking over! They completely out compete the green anoles. That red ear was a monster. They are native to that area. A foot is one thing. I'm trying to get my hands on the footage my son shot of a turtle missing his entire face and upper jaw. Was that a snake or a frog your found? LOL. Congrats on the cottonmouth!
Yeah, you could barely walk without seeing a Brown Anole running around down there! And wow! Turtles are tough but that crazy how that thing can still survive! Thanks!
Going to a totally new place to herp sounds awesome. Hopefully one day I can do some out of state herping. For now I'll keep trying to find all the native stuff here
Out of state herping can be fun but kinda frustrating because you barely have knowledge of where to look for specific species! The good thing is when you do find something the chances are It'll be a lifer!
Great video! Enjoyed the wide variety of wildlife in this one. How many birds do you have on your lifelist?
Thank you! My lifelist is currently at 714!
@@wiredwilderness4431 Wow, nice!
I'm sorry, I don't know why I was not subscribed to to you. I fixed that. You have great content!
Haha, well thank you!
Sick!!!!!
Thanks!
I can't remember if I've asked you before but have you found every native herp species from Maryland?
Not yet! I've got most but there is a few species I need that are off the mountains! I've never really herped down state before so that's why I'm missing stuff!
