It was my previous understanding that no animals were actually blue. The blue of birds and butterflies and such, is actually iridescence and not pigment.

The good, and slightly ironic thing about it, is that they're extremely reluctant to bite people so although your odds of surviving are low, your odds of never being bitten in the first place are pretty solid.

I used to work on the sugar cane trains in north Queensland, Australia home of the inland taipan, at times over an hour away from any medical care, they're one of them snakes that if you get bit you don't call for help, you call your loved ones and make peace.

In Australia it is commonly said that if you have a venomous Red Belly in your yard to leave it there because it will eat the much more dangerous Brown snakes that come by...

All it takes is one little accident like a few getting loose or one biting him and he might die. It’s like ASKING to put your life in danger but if he wants to take that risk then let him.
@@lizzardmoto9386No we are not 😂 I live in Ontario, Canada and there’s only one species of venomous snake that lives here (in only one region of the whole province, too), and I have never seen one in my 30 years of life.

@marc.V97 According to which source you read. The results are inconclusive. Some studies say the Black Mamba. Some say the Gaboon Viper. Some say the Death Adder. Some even say the Black Rat Snake. It just depends on which study and the method of measure of that study. So, nobody knows for sure. But, each of the snakes mentioned above are definitely among the fastest striking snakes in the world.
Edit: Forgot to say that the Black Mamba is definitely the fastest moving snake in the world, hands down, no contest.
@marc.V97 But, being from Louisiana, I do have to mention that we definitively know the snake with the fastest strike in North America...and we have them everywhere here...the Cottonmouth a.k.a. Water Moccasin. Here in Louisiana, I find them in the yard atleast once a week and in the house during the winter. They are also the only aggressive snake in North America. They will come after you.
