after watching your video, i remembered myself when i was 18. I opened up to my parents that I'm gay. It was so hard and it was that part where my life turned to a different route. Being gay in a Filipino-Chinese community was a big no-no and it came to a point where i had to think if i should come out or remain closeted and get married to a girl. But I know that I must be strong and come out rather than get married to a girl, have kids and have affairs with different men! That's worse. So i did came out and it took me 11 more years until they finally accepted me. But through those 11 years, there were times that i couldn't take the insults from my own brother; the awkward feeling when we eat lunch or dinner together with the family; and all those times i was in our home but I felt like being watched. A lot did happen.. and one of the sad parts is, some friends just left. Because I know they didn't like the fact that I'm gay. Although I gained new friends too, those who accept me for who i am. So Raif, just be yourself. Being gay is hard because a lot will change. But what is important is you know what you are doing and sometimes its good to do a little "proving" to let them know those gay-stereotypes are plainly wrong. Be yourself and love who you are, i know someday families and friends will learn to accept :) PRAY More love from the Philippines!~

I know this is an old video, i understand that, and i get it people can make their choice of leaving, and i dont know you, but if i know anything its that everyone deserves the chance to transparent, and been open, there is nothing wrong with that, WHAT IS WRONG with that, is that people take advantage of that, or that people hurt those who are loving and helpful. But that isnt on you, and it is easier said than done but those people who have hurt you by walking away, if they truly are worth it, they will realize what this means to you, and that they are losing you, because you are worth so much more than being critizised for WHAT? Opening up about this? Helping others? I mean honestly.
What you should do is educate yourself and then imagine in your mind how you will reassure those you love that you can still live a happy, healthy life with HIV
