Thank you so much Sir 🥰. And i have a problem, can u help me to solve this. If a DNA molecule is 2.4 cm long, how many nucleosomes could be present in its compacted state if linker dna has 60 base pairs ??
Hi Dhanalakshmi No of H bonds=600 No of A residues=90 therefore No of T residues=90 No of AT bp=90 bp No of H bonds btw AT base pairs =90*2=180 H bonds No of H bonds in GC bp =600-180=420 H bonds No of GC bp for 420 H bonds= 420/3=140 bp Total no. of bp (AT and GC)=90+140=230 bp Distance btw adjacent bp=3.4 A Length of DNA molecule with 230 bp=230*3.4=782 A Hope this will help. Share if you have any other easy way to solve this Thank you for the question.
Hello! Can u help me with a problem please? In an DNA molecule the amount of adenine is twice as much as guanine. This molecule has 2400 nucleotides. Find the number of hydrogen bonds?
Hi Shahina in this question, we need to covert turns into nucleotide base pairs The most common DNA B DNA has 10 bp/turn No. of H bonds in a DNA molecule = 2x No. of AT bp +3x No. of GC bp first coil =10% G =10% C therefore GC base pairs is 20% that is 20% of 10 2 bp GCx3=6 H bonds AT bp in first coil= 100-20%=80% =8 bp 8ATx2H=16 H bonds The same calculation for other strands also Hope you are clear Thank you:)
Hi Nature hub No. Of thymine bases =30 No. Of Adenine bases =30 Total no. Of bases=30+30=60 But a base pair means A=T No. Of bp= no of complementary bases/2=60/2=30 Hope you are clear.. Thank you so much
In other questions, base pairs is given not bases or base residues. Let me make it more clear 10 bp (A=T) is made up of 20 bases (10 A and 10 T) or base residues..👍
Our DNA is made up of Adenine, Guanine, Thymine, & Cytosine which are held together by a covalent phosphodiester bonds( sulfuric bridges). Which appears constantly in this pattern 10-5-6-5 is this true
Dear Anirudha Singh I went through the 2nd questions... but still I got 500. would you please explain how you got 550...Thank you so much for the question and support:)
Thank you so much ❤️ keep uploading more videos.. You have really helped me solve a problem 😃
If you understand the 3 question can you say why total no .of AT bp is not divided by 2 as it is done in 1 st problem
Thank you so much Sir 🥰. And i have a problem, can u help me to solve this. If a DNA molecule is 2.4 cm long, how many nucleosomes could be present in its compacted state if linker dna has 60 base pairs ??
Bro did do a video on how to calculate glycosidic bonds
Very effective
Very helpful ☺️
1st question's answer is wrong
Sir how to find the answer for following question..
What is the length of DNA Molecules having 600 hydrogen bonds and 90 adenine molecules?
Hi Dhanalakshmi
No of H bonds=600
No of A residues=90
therefore No of T residues=90
No of AT bp=90 bp
No of H bonds btw AT base pairs =90*2=180 H bonds
No of H bonds in GC bp =600-180=420 H bonds
No of GC bp for 420 H bonds= 420/3=140 bp
Total no. of bp (AT and GC)=90+140=230 bp
Distance btw adjacent bp=3.4 A
Length of DNA molecule with 230 bp=230*3.4=782 A
Hope this will help. Share if you have any other easy way to solve this
Thank you for the question.

Ans. 2(3A)+3(3A-1200)=3,480 H bond
A ds DNA has 4 turns ( coils) 1 st coil has 10% G,2 nd coil has 20% A,3rd coil has 40% C,4th coil has 30% T .then total no. Of H -bonds?? Pls explain
Hi Shahina
in this question, we need to covert turns into nucleotide base pairs

No. of H bonds in a DNA molecule = 2x No. of AT bp +3x No. of GC bp
first coil =10% G =10% C therefore GC base pairs is 20% that is 20% of 10 2 bp GCx3=6 H bonds
AT bp in first coil= 100-20%=80% =8 bp 8ATx2H=16 H bonds
The same calculation for other strands also
Hope you are clear
Thank you:)
Can you please tell me why you divided by 2 in first question?
Hi Nature hub
No. Of thymine bases =30
No. Of Adenine bases =30
Total no. Of bases=30+30=60
But a base pair means A=T
No. Of bp= no of complementary bases/2=60/2=30
Hope you are clear.. Thank you so much
In other question we have not divided by 2?
In other questions, base pairs is given not bases or base residues.
Let me make it more clear
10 bp (A=T) is made up of 20 bases (10 A and 10 T) or base residues..👍
@@biologyexams4uboth questions have base pairs only but in first question you divided by 2 but why not in 2nd question?
Our DNA is made up of Adenine, Guanine, Thymine, & Cytosine which are held together by a covalent phosphodiester bonds( sulfuric bridges). Which appears constantly in this pattern 10-5-6-5 is this true
I don't know. will refer and reply. Thank you
@@biologyexams4u yes, please verify this!
And if he to find how many coils how will he ask a question
Why u divided 60/2 in question 1
Answer should be 550 in second question
Answer should be 220 in fourth question you did it wrong bcoz you added % of guanine and cytosine as base pairs
Dear Anirudha Singh
I went through the 2nd questions... but still I got 500. would you please explain how you got 550...Thank you so much for the question and support:)
