Wow. your teaching style is amazing. U clear the concept. Just saw a few videos and now Im hooked to your videos. Unlike other youtubers your video is crisp and to the point without excess talk. Love this! thankyou so much
Our teacher made it so complicated. I was thinking to leave this for the exams. But came across this video and now i think I know it better than my teacher. lol....you covered all theory nicely and also included practical discussions making the entire thing very interesting and easy to understand. Loved your way of teaching. Subscribing to your channel. Will surely see other videos (if they are in my syllabus) lol
maam i have a question, a mutagen could cause so many different possible mutations right so how is it of any value to do this test? cause its not necessary that all mutagens will cause the same mutation making the s typhi a revertant right? its it possible that it is mutagenic just not for the property of making the strain revertant? i hope my question makes sense, sorry
Yes it does. And yes it happens. That's why this is not a gold standard of testing. These tests have their limitations. It's like they give us a basic idea. Multiple different tests are carried out for a final confirmation on the mutagenic nature of a compound.
Wow. the best video on Ames test online.

Can you add no Histidine at all to the plate? Why do you add a "minimal" amount of Histidine?
Noo you can't. You must need minimal Histidine for the initial bacterial growth(lawn).
Yes
